Can you post a list of all of this and the ideal settings for the best sound. I only have front unit and fosgate speakers. It sounds good for the most part but when I crank it up it gets garbled sounding
I have to say I spent a load of cash (to me anyway lol) on the soundstream radio, precision power Amp, and the hertz speakers. But WOW what a difference it made on my 14 streetglide from factory

I wish I had this equipment or at least knew what I was doing when it came to a 13 band EQ. Got my hdhu9813 installed in my 07 SG and with my precision power 6x9 lid speakers and my 6.5” sinister sounds faring speakers with pods hooked up to a arc audio moto 720 amp and the hdhu max volume at 48 tuned to 1khz @ 0db with radio and phone EQ set to flat using a test tone usb from Steve Meade and or apple CarPlay I can tell when playing regular music after the gains are set (also 1khz @ 0db) on the amp I have a lot more of some sounds then the other. Treble seems great but there’s a lot of what I can describe best as a tingy sound like a symbol crash. I just don’t know where to begin or what to take out or add in without hurting my speakers… I know I ask a lot of questions on a lot of your videos but you’re the best in the world and I value your opinion and input. Also 1 more thing. I noticed with my DD1 hooked up to the front speaker RCA output on the radio itself I get zero distortion at the max volume of 50 but if I do what the DD1 instructions say and turn my amp gain all the way down and unhook the speakers I can use the leads from the DD1 in the channel inputs to find max volume before distortion which hit at 49 and the red light went away at 48… didn’t seem to make sense to me since I got no distortion whatsoever directly off the radio but picked up distortion on the amp doing exactly what the DD1 instructions said to do. Does that make sense to y’all or can you tell me what max volume is on this radio since they are all the same and all tuned at the same 1khz @ 0db frequency?! Again sorry for the questions but I value your opinion more then anyone else’s!!
We tune amps using 1khz -5db track with the dd-1, radio is clean to volume 50 with eq set flat, then turn down what you have too much of using the eq, if you want more bass don’t turn it up, just turn the treble down. Hope this makes sense
@@volunteeraudio I tried the 1khz -5db for the faring speakers and 1khz -10db for the 6x9’s at volume 48 with the radio tuned at 1khz 0db. And it just seemed like it was to much. My 6.5’s are a 200w RMS and sinister sounds somehow has a protection mechanism on them where they will muffle down real low like they are under water till the song get quieter then they go back to normal I did notice tho with the 0db tune my amp gain for both channels barely went up maybe a quarter of the way before distortion.
I have the full Fosgate system.. 6x speakers and 2 subs. Do you have a pic for the ‘‘eq settings for the 8 speaker Fosgate system? Also any settings for the subwoofer tab on the radio?

I just got this head unit installed on my 15 road glide with stage 3 RF fairing and bad lid speakers. Any suggestions on eq and band pass for an every music setting?
It sounds great with a flat eq if your amp is properly set

Good evening Jay. I noticed when I set my F/R crossover to 60Hz and the Slope to 24dB it sounds much better. Is there a reason for that? Because when I had it off it didn't sound as good. I also have my Subwoofer Subsonic Crossover set to 50Hz and the Low Pass to 160Hz and Slope 24dB. I really don't have knowledge of how to set EQ and crossovers. After watching this particular video I will attempt to set my EQ bands. As of right now I have it on the preset "Soft Rock" which to me sounds better than the other presets they have available.

The soft rock eq is boosting bass too high and the crossover is blocking the low bass making it sound clearer. We suggest using custom eq and starting with all bands set in the middle or flat. Then turn down what you have too much of. For instance, if you want more bass don’t turn the bass up but instead turn down the treble to hear more bass

Do you have a picture of the digital EQ number board so we can match the numbers? It's hard to see the numbers you have on your screen .
Unless you have this exact system it will not be correct, start flat and turn down what you have too much of

2022 cvo road glide, I have the hdhu.14si the bike has the Harley davidson by rockford fosgate why isn't my front to rear and left and right fader working no matter where you move it all speakers stay on it does not work like it should is there any reasons why it wouldn't work with that system or some kind of setting but regardless my fader is not working with my system if you could help me out would be much appreciated thank you Jay!
Fade is don’t me digitally on hd audio by Rockford, they only send front signal to the amplifier, there will be a future maestro update to add fader but for now they locked it since it would not function correctly

Hey Jay can you tell me why my hdhu.14si has had me to reset my clock twice so far I noticed yesterday it was on the wrong time again when it was right when I left out in the morning? this happened to me before that I had to reset to correct time it was hours off. No loss of power or battery disconnect. Was out riding the bike. Thanks!
Are you using a wireless CarPlay adapter? Some of them will reset the time to a set time in the wireless adapter programming, this was an early issue with the RDVFL that they released a software update for the wireless adapter to fix, also if rds in the fm settings is on it could change your time to the fm stations previous broadcast time
@volunteeraudio dang, in fact I did plug in the wireless adapter for a few minutes yesterday. And didn't notice and also tuned onto the fm for a few before back onto bluetooth. Is that rds in the settings some place I can shut off? What is it needed for? And also where do I get the update?. Is it possible you have EQ settings for the Harley-Davidson by rockford fosgate I have the 6 speaker set up and drop in sub. Sorry for all the questions.
@@davidchamberlin9273 yes rds can be turned off in fm settings, if you have the RDVFL cp/aa mirror reach out to rich there and he will send you the update
When doing this EQ tuning what kind of pink noise do I use?! There are a ton of different ones in my iTunes?! And do I have to do it in a specific size building or can it be tuned perfectly outside in the open?! I have a garage but it’s extremely small!! I could probably fit 2 Harley’s in my garage if it was completely cleared out
We use pink noise supplied from smd. Kicker has a good pink noise track on their website you can download. You want as little ambient sound as possible while tuning

The volume difference is amp gains, not eq, set your amp gains using an oscilloscope or distortion detector like a DD-1, eq start is always flat after amp gain settings the tweak to your liking bringing down what you have too much of

I LOVE this head unit in my 2014 Ultra Ltd CVO! Problem though: I have tons of songs on a USB drive that work well. BUT: this unit will only display all songs individually. I don't know how to bring up each album individually and have the songs listed by album and not the hundreds, listed individually.. pretty overwhelming to try to scroll through them all . Help!!

@Volunteer Audio I have tried to touch the "Folder" buttons.. All either of them do is reset the current song to it's beginning, to play again. The display does not switch to the album in which the song is located. Ok if I call you by phone?
@@PeterRoseman make sure you have the music arranged in folder and less than 999 songs per folder, max drive size is 32gb but we recommend 16gb
You were right-on about creating folders for each artist. Extremely tedious but It works like a charm and thank you SO very much. Do you have an EQ setting for a Fosgate amp and speakers? So the eq on the soundstream is useless then if you have to leave it flat?
No, you adjust it below the half way point, I do t think you understood, you still adjust the eq but you build the eq curve below the half way mark to keep it clean to full output
What volume do you want to do this at? The highest clean volume before distortion?
That would be full volume but I set eq at normal listening volumes
@@volunteeraudio so would it hurt anything to set the EQ at 50 on the hdhu9813SG? About 98.396% of my time riding is on the highway at 65-70 mph so my volume is at 50 majority of the time. I’ll turn it down when I come up on a red light, stop somewhere or pass through a town. And does it make a difference to set the EQ in a certain environment like my garage or out in the open?
@@Jeffmd2020 eq is not going to change between 3/4 to full volume, we always recommend turning down what you have too much of instead of increasing what you want more of. By doing this you will not distort at full volume, start with eq flat
I have a couple questions - I generally don't like using blutooth audio, except newer aptX or LDAC codecs... does this support those? Does this play FLAC files via USB? What about using Harley's Sirius/XM modules or some sort of S/XM module?
This radio has Bluetooth 4.2, it does not have a dedicated Sirius xm port but will use the sirius xm app through apple CarPlay or android auto,

We don’t use the notch filters, it sounds better without them
