Jay, honest question. I’m leaving my home in PA for Myrtle Beach Bike Week on 5/10. What are the chances that I get my radio with the info for the proper gains settings for my PPI amp in enough time to install before I leave for my trip? FYI, I preordered on the day this was released.
I’m in same boat I’m leaving for 2 week riding vacation to Grand Canyon May 11th would love to have before this trip. No matter can’t wait looks amazing

I think the reason some of us want built in GPS is because we plan trips using specific routes that Google, Waze, etc. don't use because they're not the shortest or the fastest. There's also a limit on the number of route points Google supports. So, we use software to build routes the way we want, then export to a GPX file and import it into the Harley GTS. Does the built-in GPS in the new Soundstream support importing GPS files?
with car play capabilities use your planning app right on the radio. Using apps like InRoute or MyRouteApp both function in CarPlay and allow for detail route planning and offline maps as well so you don't have to worry about having service for your maps.
The phone navigation will continue to work even without cell service, routes are downloaded at the start and most smart phones have embedded gps chips that do not rely on cell towers for location, plus this radio has the additional gps antenna and internal gps chip

I’m wondering if you can set the just navigation prompts going to headset but have the music going only to speakers? Maybe I’m asking for too much but sometimes I have trouble hearing the prompts at highway speeds with a helmet.

When streaming music and navigating via your phone, can the V2 differentiate the navigation commands from the streaming service and route appropriately to the headset or speakers?
I camp a lot in areas that often have no cell service. That is why I like to have satellite GPS and SeriusXM. When in civilization I also prefer Google Maps. Can maps be upgraded periodically in future? Also, if there is a software upgrade can it be easily installed via USB?
You may have to remove the radio fuse to use auto tune feature of the power vision, most customers do not have clashing issues as the tuner connects first and it blocks the gauges in the radio instead
Pre ordered my V2 glad I waited was going to get the SI until this dropped. My question is does the V2 save your setting when the battery is disconnected?
I have v1 of this. Hoping v2 solved/fixed the incompatibility with aftermarket tuners like pv where the tuner can’t read the ecu due to the maestro/radio
Update your maestro to the latest software version, it allows the tuner to take over but no matter what, if your tuner is using gauge data the radio will not display at the same time. Tune the bike then remove the tuner or disable auto tune once done
Will you do a video or tutorial on self adjustments if we already have one of your systems installed with the stock radio if we’ll have to make any amp adjustments to minimize the distortion with the extra power from the new radio. Excellent video as usual.
We will not do a video as we will only share amp adjustments with customers who have purchased our plug n play amplifiers, these adjustments are specific for each situation , we will share them in picture form and clearly show what needs adjusted
My amp is the Biketronics BT4180...will I have any issues with that amp since it's kinda "locked down" and set up to work with a stock HD head unit? Thanks...can't wait to get mine!
Do you have a roadglide? The factory radio angle will always make it hard to see and screen with the sun over your shoulder reflecting off the screen, also polarized sunglasses make it harder to see as well. I bought my speakers and amplifier in anticipation of the V2. After I receive and install the equipment, could the radio overpower the speakers because of the built in amp and the amp that I bought from Volunteer audio? (I bought the Hertz front fairing and back trunk speakers with the big Hertz amp).
I think the deal breaker for me is it would have been simple to setup the radio with what type of bike you have. That way TriGlide would have 3 wheel TPMS and the graphics and splash screen would feature a bike similar to yours
@@pcrost83 why sink $2,000 into a $15,000 stereo and lose simple features such as TPMS and TriGlide support? The data stream is there but the manufacturer either forgot about the growing trike market or just chose not to support it. As far as including a setup screen where you can select the type of bike and then that’d be on the splash screen and shown during screen changes is just a simple few lines of code that once again the manufacturer ignored. Hell, even my POS Nissan can do that along with changing body colors on the screen.

I prefer wired headsets 10-1!! No batteries, no going dead, I use the intercom on my bike to communicate with my passenger. I'm just not a fan of wireless!!
@@neilrich05 The battery life on wireless have improved and can last all day depending on the model. My Sena camera model can be charged while using it so I can plug into a USB while using it.

No, it is all but impossible to maintain the quality of installation and experience to our customers that we maintain in a rally environment. We would have to bring in outside installers and we do not think it would be in our best interest or yours. We spend a lot of our year fixing Harley’s that got rally installs from other vendors
Guys, I purchased your HDHU.14+ from y'all and my screen no longer works. I called but have not been able to get anyone from tech support. I have also sent several emails but have not received any response. I'm interested in upgrading to this new radio, however, I'm lacking confidence in the event something occurs. I'm on the fence about purchasing this new radio but would love to have my radio functioning so that I can sell it.
If your gloves will operate your phone it will also operate the radio, I’ll add that to a future video to show glove use, also thumb controls operate every screen

After reading the manual you find out that the warranty is only 90 days if you install yourself. In order to receive a 2 year warranty it has to be installed by a factory authorized installation dealer. Quoting the manual: "IN ORDER FOR THE TWO-YEAR WARRANTY TO BE VALID, YOUR UNIT MUST BE SHIPPED WITH PROOF OF INSTALLATION BY A SOUNDSTREAM OR PRECISION POWER AUTHORIZED SELLER. ALL UNITS RECEIVED BY SOUNDSTREAM FOR WARRANTY REPAIR WITHOUT PROOF OF SOUNDSTREAM OR PRECISIONPOWER AUTHORIZED DEALER INSTALLATION AND PURCHASE WILL BE COVERED BY THE LIMITED 90-DAY WARRANTY."
So this is interesting. I called Soundstream to verify the apparent warranty discrepancy advertised at various sites and the warranty stated in the manual. I talked to a lady in the warranty department at Soundstream and she said the dealers are providing the 2 year warranty, not Soundstream. Your warranty is only as good as your dealer.
We provide install videos and tech support, you have a full 2 year warranty when purchased from volunteer audio, yes handled directly with us but the warranty is backed by Soundstream

How far is the connectivity for headsets.? Could you connect say the rider riding with you next to you on their bike so you could talk via intercom?
Most headsets have a mesh or Bluetooth network for intercom between riders that pick up a mile or longer away

If using a DSP, radio eq would be set flat and eq would be set in the DSP

This radio reads the TPMs data from the ecm, if the ecm can read it, so can the radio

You can not have 2 items using can bus from the ecm at the same time, they will clash

This radio along with the Idatalink maestro module retains the boom stage 2 systems and sounds much better than the stock radio

Nothing about this causes any warranties to be void, plug n play with no modification to the bike

Guys, I purchased your HDHU.14+ from y'all and my screen no longer works. I called but have not been able to get anyone from tech support. I have also sent several emails but have not received any response. I'm interested in upgrading to this new radio, however, I'm lacking confidence in the event something occurs. I'm on the fence about purchasing this new radio but would love to have my radio functioning so that I can sell it.

If your gloves will operate your phone it will also operate the radio, I’ll add that to a future video to show glove use, also thumb controls operate every screen

Two questions:
1. Does the EQ adjustment work for in helmet speakers or just the bike’s speakers?
2. Is there any flash at all required for install? My bike has a PV tune.

Radio eq does not effect headsets, no flash of the bike is needed

After reading the manual you find out that the warranty is only 90 days if you install yourself. In order to receive a 2 year warranty it has to be installed by a factory authorized installation dealer. Quoting the manual: "IN ORDER FOR THE TWO-YEAR WARRANTY TO BE VALID, YOUR UNIT MUST BE SHIPPED WITH PROOF OF INSTALLATION BY A SOUNDSTREAM OR PRECISION POWER AUTHORIZED SELLER. ALL UNITS RECEIVED BY SOUNDSTREAM FOR WARRANTY REPAIR WITHOUT PROOF OF SOUNDSTREAM OR PRECISIONPOWER AUTHORIZED DEALER INSTALLATION AND PURCHASE WILL BE COVERED BY THE LIMITED 90-DAY WARRANTY."
So this is interesting. I called Soundstream to verify the apparent warranty discrepancy advertised at various sites and the warranty stated in the manual. I talked to a lady in the warranty department at Soundstream and she said the dealers are providing the 2 year warranty, not Soundstream. Your warranty is only as good as your dealer.
When purchased from volunteer audio the warranty is 2 years.
