Phenomenal memory to be able to remember this vast repetoire, to say nothing of outstanding musical and dextrous ability unparalleled anywhere by anyone else, past or present. This is the zenith of guitar playing.
Stellar musicianship and a true gentleman. Very humbling experience in all aspects. His show in Santa Monica (McCabe’s Music) was very special. His wife Julia is a gifted cellist that complimented his guitar work extremely. You must not miss if they are in town!
Richard is a "MASTER" of the guitar! The streets of Laredo was, it was, stunningly beautiful and heartfelt. Never heard guitar like this before. Tonight he is at his best.
Even if you play just a little guitar you will soon realise how sublime this guy is when he starts plucking them strings. I used this as background music while doing some office work and found myself going back to the visual and rewinding to see how he accomplished those beautiful runs and harmonys- which often sounded like two guitar players. The Merle Travis tune did it for me around 1:39, with a great vocal!! I hope Richard tours UK soon- Ill buy a season ticket and go to all the gigs!!
Very nice dexterity , too bad there is little BRAVO for such performances. Is there anyone who knows the title of the unedited song at 1H39mn. Thank you
He's gone way past His mentor Chet Atkins , that's my humble opinion, not to take away from Chet , who was amazing . Iam astounded at the way he adds bass notes flawlessly, and in perfect time.
2 questions... Anyone know the song that Richard played a bit prior to intermission, just before Mr. Lucky? Sure sounds like a Jerry Reed tune. Also, anyone know who the female vocalist doing Pennies From Heaven during intermission is?

Every time I think he can't get better he proves me wrong again. Wow! Smoother and played with such great feeling.

He really is that good, always learning new rep. Excellent
Richard was good enough at 11 to be invited onstage to play with Chet Atkins. Enough said. His phrasing and feel are absolutely incredible.
Absolutely flawless this man !!!❤❤❤
I love watching the music just flow through Richard. He is THAT good and its incredible to watch!
Not only brilliant on the fretboard, but a great sense of humour. I watch UA-cam a lot, and a lot of that is watching Richard.

Dang Richard...You're my hero on the guitar! I enjoy your playing so much.
A guitar virtuoso and a great entertainer. Hope to see him in Norway some day.
Outstanding … thank you.

Fantastic listening and watching Richard Smith play as always
Richard Smith is also one of my favorite guitarists.
1:43, that arrangement and performance of Tenderly took my breath away
This is just so beautiful what a gorgeous bit of composing from Richard 1:52:50
anyone know what pedals he is using?
I've played guitar my whole life. even I don't think I could sit and listen to this for 2 1/2 hours.
lol
Damn Richard you are playing terrific tonight! Makes me feel like busting my guitar because I can't play like that!
Excellent version of the Danza paraguaya. Took me by surprise
I can't take my eyes off this guy while he's playing.
MAESTRO . el mejor de nuestros tiempos
I saw you and Julie in Pendleton, OR about 2005 Still remeber it well.

Not sure of the Jerry Reed song, but the lady on the break is Veronica Swift.

Il est juste extraordinaire Mr Smith ...
Please, does anyone know what guitar he’s playing?
A Kirk Sand "Richard Smith" model
I can't remember the name of the Herb Alpert tune Richard plays at 38:38
Music to watch girls by

30:37 Awesome version of Georgia (I like Martin Taylor version, but this version is incrédible !!!)
This is pretty much Jerry Reed’s arrangement, with incredible embellishments by Richard…
Amazing guitarist he has the same hero as me Chet Atkins
If you know Richard, you’ll know his hero is Jerry Reed!
Nate Najar! On the screen at the beginning.
whats the first song he plays. he just mentions its a jerry reed song but does anyone know the name of that song?
East Wind
What’s the song at 41:50
Pretty sure it’s Georgy Girl
It's a real shame that the channel balance is wildly off here, sounds great otherwise.
