Congratulations after searching all over YT and google, you are the only one I found that shows exactly how to check a blower resister with a basic multi-meter. I just put a brand new one in my 04 Liberty and it didn't work, blower is still on high, fortunately it's easy to get to. Now after watching your video I checked my old one and two out of four pins shows no OHMs, guess I have to buy another new one, thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!!
I forgot to add to this post, a few days later I put another new resister on my Jeep from Auto Zone, the blower is still working like it should. I sent the bad new resister back to Rock Auto and they refunded my money....
Thank you for this video!! Just what I needed. Replaced my HVAC res with a refurbished one bought on line. And the fault is still there!! So, want to check if its shot too.
No offense car guys...Its called a stepped potentiometer or stepped resistor, not a resistor, in electronics technician talk. A potentiometer is a resistor stepped or variable. A variable resistor would be the volume knob on your radio. This is stepped with fixed resistances.
You made it sound like that if you receive any ohm reading at each resistor terminal that its still good( the resistor) but what if the terminals all give a reading but just a little lower than specs? Is the resistor good or bad in that scenario? Very confusing Sir.
Hello there, my truck 2010 f150 is working only on high speed, and I already replaced the resistor but it’s still working on high speed, if you have any suggestions where to check, please help out 🎉
Im getting a .4 and a 1.0 on the 3rd and 4th prong. Is that good or not. Im guessing not since my car ac won’t even turn on, nor receive any power to the control system.
Luckily for you, you have the UA-cam video editor,so you can out the first 15 seconds of that entire dark reflections intro out of the video, UA-cam will re-render it and the video might be watchable. No one thinks that intro is cool. The rest of the video is fine, but get rid of that stupid intro music.
Good information, thank you.
P.s. the intro music before this video was ridiculously loud and sounds like it's coming through a blown speaker.

Don't click on this VID!!! The start music is SCREAMING!!!
How do you know those values are correct??
Well done. Short and sweet. I just clicked passed the music. No big deal.

Does this also work for a cooling fan resistor?
why make the intro music so loud if you're gonna be so quiet

What did you set your OHMs at on your multimeter for your readings? 200? 2k? 20k or 200k
200
