I may be late to the party here, but props to you on how detailed this video was! Even not owning a 350Z, I feel much better about winterizing my 240 after this. Thank you for the quality content!
Never too late to comment on a video like this. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked it!
What about moisture build up underneath the car when storing over winter in a concrete garage. I hear some people park on plywood to prevent moisture from getting underneath a car. Therefore preventing rust build up.
mike douglas I think I mentioned parking over a tarpe or something in the video. If not good tip!
So I park my car outside and I use a premium outside tarp, but I’m afraid that the rank snow falls in Canada would shift my tarp around :/ so next year I’m gonna get some wrapping paper (like a non residue clear wrap) and see if that’s gonna reduce my scratches. I’m just assuming I am getting scratches but it is a soft texture tarp on the inside, and I also ceramic coated it… but still I’m afraid of what I have to see when I pull it off in the summer time …
What about buying a storage tent? www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/easy-assembly-waterproof-storage-shed-w-uv-protection-10-x-10-x-8-ft-0371112p.0371112.html?gclid=CjwKCAiAx8KQBhAGEiwAD3EiPywIuQYCHwXIYeew3369bCL-1D2XwggQYU0upUE2PcC2yzjKsEKJohoCqSEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#store=426
Fellow BC’er here. When I store my P car, I place either cardboard or styrofoam under the wiper arm, so the blades are lifted from the windshield.
Thanks for the tip!
Ik I’m late but if I disconnected my battery will it mess with my engine computer? I’ll be gone for about 3 months ymm 08 g35
No you can disconnect for a long period of time.
you should try pennzoil ultra platinum
Using Castrol Professional 5w40 in the car right now.
I know your an Electrician, how can the charger actually start a fire? Last year i left my 350z for charging the battery for 3 months, not a single problem. I use a high quality car battery charger. (Ctek)
Rymden2 It's possible due to a malfunction. Super rare but I saw a picture from an installer charging their battery out of the car and the charger caught fire. Neighbour called them luckily. I'm just taking the path of extra caution. Also some people might use a charger (unlike yours) that may always constantly charge, even with the battery full.
i love your car but do you plan on upgrading your brakes?
surpluscollector I'd like to put the adapter kit to put the Akebono setup off a 370Z some day. It has ceramic pads now and brake really good. Also 2006 got upgrade to dual piston up front even though this car doesn't have Brembos.
But how can I protect the motor I don't have a garage and I was thinking of putting a blanket under the car to sheld it from the snow, any ideas
You can put a tarp down and drive over it.
@@AnthonyJ350 I mean put something under the car, like under the hoop or under the fram, the motor on the car isn't the best and might not survive winter I need transportation, and I'm hoping to keep the motor warm during winter
@@pinkconfidantp2me912 Hook up the engine block heater and put it on a timer so it's only on part of the day when it's most cold.
@@AnthonyJ350 iv asked a bunch of UA-camrs the same question and your the only one who has helped 🥰 thank you so much I really appreciate it. 💜
@@pinkconfidantp2me912 I'm glad we're pointing you in the right direction. Please let us know what works for you as I'm learning all the time what works in practical application.
On the old Comments system I missed so many comments so I'm still responding to people from years ago lol. I try to get back to everyone.
4:29 Um ... I never seen that before. What mod is that?
That's a Viper 5806v I wired one of the auxiliaries to control the power fuel lid
Will this make the car rust quicker?
If it's kept dry no
WD-40 is not a lubricant, sports fans. It is an easy misconception as it is a great cleaner and a good starting point. Follow up with an actual lubricant. It's really a solvent designed to clean or prevent rust.
If you're referring to rust prevention at 12:00 I talk about Krown. You can also use Fluid film which I talk about in other videos.
Why can't you drive it in the winter? I have a 4 wd truck I'll drive when it snows. But I plan on driving my 350 all year long.
You can but I like preserving them
I'm more concerned about salt on the road degrading the vehicle over time. That's all.
@@AnthonyJ350 you have a point my truck is a Dodge and I feel it will still be running strong and the frame will be rusted in half. It was rusty before I got it but it's worse now. I have to drive the Z it's my daily the truck gets 13mpg. I will just have to wash it underneath after they put salt down. My car has 223 thousand miles take care of them they will last you a long time.
I live in texas.........lol. ur first video I can't find useful for me lol
There's some maintenance tips in there. Like cleaning your fenders if they're rolled :p
AnthonyJ350 not yet!. But that will be coming when I get some coilovers installed. Had to drop some money on a jwt clutch and flywheel this week. Car should be up and ready hopefully tmw. Can't wait
Richard Barclay Nice! Let me know how it drives after.
Richard Barclay Wait I just realized there is something useful in the video so we can keep the streak alive! Did you see the part where I talk about magnets for oil filtration or where I talk about Liquid Glass?
AnthonyJ350 I'm looking to replace my head unit for my g35 coupe. I'm not looking to spend much, but I do want blue tooth. Any recommendations for a budget double din? Thanks
I store my car in the summer when it’s like 90+ degrees.
Car won't run in the heat?
AnthonyJ350 I lose 1 or 2 psi when it’s really hot. And don’t like seeing my front bumper cover in bugs.
AnthonyJ350 it’s just better in the winter for me.
First bb
Good job ;)
rodents? i dont think i have any in my garage but i do see lizards occasionally.
your comment about battery tenders catching on fire has me worried now. lol
It's highly unlikely but you have to prepare for the worst. Get a smart battery render that automatically detects charge status and something that has a fuse on the leads or put one in yourself. Unplug it when the battery is charged and put it back on every couple of weeks if you leave the battery connected to the car.
AC DELCO engine suplement??? what a waste of money is this a magic stuff just because you said it has been used by other mechanics?
rotoR Col I have no scientific proof so I can only go by people more experienced than me in the field. I've read it's high in ZDDP but doesn't say in the bottle. Why don't you look into it, or do you dislike the suggestion so much you'll dismiss everything? Like I said it's optional.
Clickbait
How exactly?
EdgyAlpha Lol how is this clickbait? He's literally showing how to prepare and store your car. Do you even know what clickbait means?
EdgyAlpha wtf
Bro its just a joke lol.
"How you store your car for winter" and you don't even store your car outside. Useless video.
Which parts don't have merit if you were to store the vehicle inside in the off season?
