I actually use my garage at home for my car. I never understood why people leave their expensive $35K+USD car outside but put crap in their garage.
Jameel Ja yea me too i have my 17 mustang gt just chillin in my garage even though its not the biggest garage
In texas we dont have basements so all the junk people normally put in a basement goes in the garage.
@@michaels7984 in Florida there are no basements either. That's why I have 3 sheds and my cars in the garage.
@@willmr2psu we use ours, we have a 3 car garage so use the extra for storage space. A lot of people cant afford that or multiple sheds though so they use their garage.
Bro Everyone has no garages in their House
Love your wagon, Brian 😍
That wagon he’s draggin 😛
so what the market needs is some kind of "quick deploy" car cover.
Cooley is more important than the sun for Humanity.
Car Cover ($300 > $5)
Window Tint (Polarized > Super Dark tints)
Windshield shade cover
Ceramic Paint coating
Thanks Cooley
Truth 😂 But good tint is pricey! WAY worth it IMO though
300 car cover? better hope nobody knows 😂
No mention of wax ??
@BrantheBroken Your car won't fade after three years. My VW came with a 12 year paint warranty. And I swear it was 12 years and one day old when the fading started showing lol
That car cover gets used twice, and ends up being part of the CRAP in your garage.
With the cover?
Cooley is great.
New homes built over the last 10 years went from coming with 2 car garages to coming with 3 car garages.
Over the last 3 years I am seeing many new homes being built with 4 car garages.
That give a stall or more for bicycles, lawn mowers, snow blowers and kids toys.
Not worth it IMO getting a car cover on a daily driver. Plus it can potentially scratch it and it just screams "vandalize me".
When dirt gets up inside or the cover/car gets dirty and then wind blows the cover = scratches
That panther wagon always on mint fleek 👌
thanks for the video, very informative!
Let Cooley review cars again! His talent is waisted here!
Wasted*
Everyone reviews, but this is informational and unique, plus entertaining!
Thank you Brian!
That "Casio Duro" stands out in the whole video. I got the same watch with the same James Bond Nato strap 🤗
Still real glad Brian is doing videos. I thought he was gone for good. His G-Wagon review back on Cnet was the funniest shit ever.
❤❤love that 84 Marquis ❤ I had a 83 Grand I miss it😪
Great video, I wish I had a garage where I live... I have considered a car cover... but I am not sure what to do with it when I take it off? Throwing dirty cover to fill up my trunk or lugging it all the way back into my apartment and put it... somewhere?!?! That doesn't seem very logical. I did buy the specific window shade for my car... makes a huge difference.
This video is brilliant.
Love this guy
With 115-120f days in the shade , shade is essential here at work and home for my car
Awesome video 😎
Never appreciated shade covers until this summer with 100 + degrees temps
That was a good ending👍😂
The correct but goofy looking way to use a sun shield is to actually put it on the outside of the windshield. It’ll keep the car a lot cooler. When on the inside, it’s just reflecting the heat into the cabin.
It's fine just putting it on the inside, it doesnt reflect the heat into the cabin, if it fits properly it will reflect nearly all the heat back through the windshield. Not worth putting it on the outside for like 5% better reflection when it can easily be blown away by wind or just taken off by someone.
In backyard, I simply use Emergency-Thermal-Blanket and some magnet or some washable reusable silicone taps from amazon
I learned the hard way
Overtime, it's cheaper to buy a car cover than buying the UV protection waxes and greases
More Cooley!!!!!
Do you think I should use one for my car that is in an apartment parking lot (outdoors) because lawn people come by randomly once a month and I get grass, etc all over the sides of my car. And it's a brand new 2020 Rav4. I bought a $34 car cover off eBay, but am hesitant to break it open and use it.
What are your thoughts about a black car cover.😁 when I got my new truck it was the only thing available. I leave my windows open to try to resist any heat buildup on the interior, I’d like your feedback on the color,(Black versus silver).👍 thank you,. when I’m not using the car cover I use window shades on three sides (window)of the automobile to block the sun from the interior and keep windows down of course as much as I can get away with.
It's hail season here in Calgary and I can't seem to find a product to protect cars during hail storms?
My car cover was stolen and that sucks
Keeping your car cooler with Cooley!
The one thing you forgot that is best for just about everything except glass is Dielectric grease. Does it matter what brand if you want a good quality get food grade it'll make everything last forever you can even put it on your paint. It's by no means cheap especially if you're going to put it on your paint but it is like silicone coating your entire car leather likes it plastic likes it rubber likes it everything.
Do you still have the Country Squire? Wanna sell it? I had a white one with blue velour interior... loved it...but I wore it out using it for work. Now I would love to get one just to cruise around in!
Yea, the car cover is highly impractical on a daily basis at work. But the other solutions like tinting is effective. Nice video!
Window tint is a good idea. Get it done once and forget about it. But I don't think it can be used on the front windshield, can it?
A clear windshield tint yes. Nobody will know you did it unless you tell someone. Or you can tint the top 5-6 inches as dark as you want since it doesn't go below the rearview mirror.
@@BTC909 the front windshield actually has uv protection already. There is a clear film in between
The Tint is darker to keep prying eyes and thieves away in whatever costume they may wear in 2019
If ceramic coating is expensive. Applying car wax can help protect the paint from UV rays. And the dirt won't stick too much when there is wax. It is a cheaper alternative. But wax comes off eventually. So you need to maintain it at least once a month.
“Smoking pot while driving” lol✊🏾
I love the educational value of these videos, but this one makes me glad I just buy cheap cars and be done with it.
I nano coated my minivan... best thing ever. Cheap on Ebay and works a treat. After a 400mile trip the front as clean as when we left (no bugs/dust) Honestly, I think all the hocus pocus about application is nonsense to make you spend some extra money on a shop, $1k plus vs $50...
any links for that product?
It's because they need to polish the paint to a near flawless finish so the coating would work better. If you coated it yourself odds are you only done a car wash before applying a coating.
@@JironBMohamad Burnnnn 😂🤣
Make sure you're using sunscreen almost year round. We all know about UVA but we also need to be worried about UVB rays in the cooler months.
I can’t put my stuff in a shed because my entire backyard is septic field--bummer. I wish I had a city sewer system. I can’t plant a shrub or put up a shed. I am thinking about creative storing and getting rid of all Christmas items-trees, lights, snowman, etc. Christmas takes up room and I want to clear out my garage.
What about a removable car garage.
AvalonKing, DIY ceramic coating
What about those umbrella-like things that sit on the roof?
🤔🤔🤔🤔
would vinyl wrap do the trick?
karijj I'm hoping it does! I'm getting my car wrapped soon
I dont mine putting it done is that if your car is not clean you will be scratching it all over. That is my only complain
The sun will do more damage to your car then the possiblity of scratches from your car cover. I use one when not driving my car for a day and leave it on til I drive the car the next time. It takes about 5 minutes to put on and remove. After putting it on for the first time, remove it by rolling the car cover up from the front to the back, then fold the whole roll in the middle and store in a trash bag. When you are ready to put it back on, just lay car cover on top near back of car and unroll it. It will take less time from then on. My Honda CR-V 2018, looks like it is new today. My friends Honda CR-V looks like an old car. They thought it was too much trouble to use. By the way I bought the cheapest Budge Cover which breathes and just throw it away when it starts to tear from the sun rays and get another. I usually get a season or two before I need to replace. We don't have any garages.
I park under a shade. Although, the bird turds are annoying.
And those are bad for your paint too
@@kolt9051 way worse, unless you wipe them off on the spot.
Not to mention your car baking in the Texas, Nevada, and Arizona sun will dry rot seals, wipers and much more
The downside of the cover is that it will scratch your paint
It will dull the paint after a while when the cover is moving/flapping with the wind.
I always thought u have to have a clean car before u put it on
@@keenanwilliams3902 In theory Yes.
@@lajya01 How long is a while, I have used one daily for 5 years and my paint is not dull.
Is this why people prefer suv’s? Because they might be made of more durable materials.
Relax people, Relax!
For most people’s cars, The outside of your car is is just skin deep!
Don’t stress over scratches, cracks, dents- learn to love them!...
In a few years, the outside of all your cars will look like crap!
With all these high tech paint, clearcoat, etc. ..
Have you thought how much these chemicals are polluting the environment?
Things that are resistant/ don’t degrade are bad for the environment! x millions of cars!
Check your local laws. In many places, any tint above factory levels may be illegal. Car covers that block your window registration/inspection stickers are illegal when parked on the street.
Buddy, *anything* is illegal these days! How about something we don't know.
@@harambo9805 True lkl
The cover it's not practical in the sense that most jobs require you to have a parking sticker and if I can't see that because the cover well that's no good I think I would just go with the tinted windows
I changed my job just to protect my car and myself. I finish work at 4 and the car is boiling from the Sun...... During Summer in Oman it reaches 50 degrees Celsius that's outside imagine the inside...... I had to shift just because my car was Black and It's extreme hell.... And a car cover might protect your car but it's a hassle to put it when you want to go to work.... You'll sweat like ........
You shouldn't put a car cover on a car unless the car has been washed and is totally clean. Driving it to work when it gets road dust all over it and putting a car cover on a car that isn't car wash fresh isn't a good idea. You could use car detailer before covering it at work but doing that and then covering the car is going to get you exhausted before you start your day on the job.
@@ThomasKOdell scratches?
@@UNPhantom93 - Sure lots of people get scratches and surface swirls from car covers BECAUSE THEY DON'T FOLLOW THE ADVICE I CITED ABOVE. You should NEVER put a car cover on a car that isn't car wash clean. If you live in Oman, that is the DESERT and if you drive your car even a short distance in Oman where you live (or in the California desert of Palm Springs where I live), you are going to get dust on it. No. No. No. No. You can't do that. I use a car cover all the time. I'm retired and have time to take care of my car. So if I remove my car cover to use my car, I let the car sit until nighttime and then take a hose to it, dry it off and then apply a spray coat of Quick Detailer (about 30 minutes of work). THEN I put my car cover back on. It's 110 degrees today where I am. Without a car cover, the inside of my car would COOK. I don't get scratches or paint damage because I don't put a car cover on a dusty or dirty car. Rule of thumb? If you can't hose off your car and dry it before putting on a car cover, don't put a car cover on.
@@ThomasKOdell I sorta disagree, I have a black honda CR-V and a New Black KIA Forte. I have used the car cover on the Honda for the last 5 years and just started using it on my KIA. The Honda still looks like new. Yes, it is better to have it washed but I can't do that all the time. Many times I just put it on with the car dirty. It hasn't done any scratching yet. It protects from the sun very well. People say it looks like I just brought it home from the dealership. I roll up the cover when I put it on and take it off and I do this daily, takes a few minutes but not a problem. It is the cheapest car cover I could get. The Budge cover for the Honda CR is breathable and dries out quickly if it rains. I highly recommend it. As the cover is cheap it last a couple of seasons and I have to replace it. I am on my 3rd cover for the Honda.
Would it scratch or make swirl marks on the car by the cover?
yes car covers aren't recommended generally
By the time you drive to work, your car would be too dirty to put a cover on unless you don't care about swirl marks, scratches and damage to the paint. At which time you have to wonder, why does one care about putting a car cover on the car at all? Indoor covers are the only car covers that make sense because they are applied in a controlled environment without outdoor hazards and dirt.
@@DJGeorgeDisco thanks
@@mattbushnell7885 Not so as someone who uses car covers religiously, I havent seen any scratches or swirls on my car. The car cover is not your enemy, the sun is.

Where to order pls
Go on Amzon or any Auto stores
Move to Ireland
It’s like NASA never lied before 😂
FYI that Sun Shade is by Covercraft & they last for forever. If you are too lazy to put up a Sun Shade get a Dash Mat.

I added ceramic coating on my own car. Cheaper that way.

The dash doesn't crack on modern cars like they did on older cars from the 70s to 90s did

Good thing I don't have a car. I don't have money for protecting my car.

Your mom gay
If you spend a couple grand getting your car ceramic coated by a pro...and then test that coating by bashing the hood with the bottom of a disposable lighter😲..like what's demonstrated in this video🤡..
You're gonna spend several more grand getting the pant damage repaired..not to mentuon reapplying the coating..🥴
No mention of PPF??
Paint protection film is a great option for vehicle protection..including mitigating damage from stone chips & UV...
