    Lyrics
No one knows permanence quite like you // There's a ruthlessness in all that you do // This is not about what we deserve // There's no bias in the misery served // C.A.N.C.E.R // So watch the sun sink into the sea // There is a perfect peace but don't wait up for me // When we all fade away // And this world can't bare another day // There will be no fight in broken bliss // I feel it now more than ever // A reaper's watch // My life ready to sever // Your name carries more than disease // A symbol of man brought to his knees // Find a little light and hold it close // Don't lose sight of what matters most // This is a burden we all carry together // Waiting in the wings, so we never say never.

it is purely amazing how many people came here after Tom's passing. Architects is one of the few bands that feel like a family instead of a fanbase. Rest in Peace, Tom Searle.

I'm blown away and so emotional. We all knew why this song was written. And the fact that everyone came here right after the news really just show how much of a family we are rather than just fans. he'll be missed.

I will play this song everyday full fucking blast until cancer is something nobody has to worry about. Fight strong warriors.

This song was already personal for me. Lost my grandmother to lung cancer. My mother defeated brain cancer. Then this with Tom. I wasn't even aware.. . I already used to scream C.A.N.C.E.R with them. Now I just scream it. I begin to cry... I hate all this pain and death. I haven't had a rock stars death Affect me this bad all the way since Kurt Cobain when I was a kid. That changed my life. 22 yrs... Tom Searle. That's how much I love this band. Respect those guys. Love you guys.

Im heart broken but more than that, Im fucking angry. My loving and also amazing grandmother was also taken away from my family way way too soon at only 51. Cancer is pure poison and it destroys so many lives.
Tom, you wont ever be forgotten. You left way to soon. Your music will live forever in the fans hearts and the all the lives you touched. Im lucky to have seen Architects live and met you 2 years ago and it was one of the most amazing nights of my life. You were one of the first metalcore bands to ever come to Portugal and I will cherish that day and concert for the rest of my days.
I know you didnt believe in Heaven, and I dont think I do either but if there is one Im sure you are there. If there isnt one, I just hope you are at peace.

RIP to the legend that was Tom Searle. For some reason, the best people on earth are usually the first ones being taken away from us. You've left behind a legacy and a discography that makes any of us proud to be Architects's fans. Gone but will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything. This is not a goodbye, It's nothing but a "Till we meet Again".

My dad died from cancer on 7th of march, he struggled this sickness for more than 10 years.
8th of march was funeral and lots of people came to say bye for him. I was not crying or being depressed, cause i needed to handle troubles and just to be a man who can help my relatives, but inside i am totally destroyed, every day when im on my way somewhere i want to call my dad and talk with him, but i can't.
I am studying extreme vocals my self, and i want to make cover of this song, it will be a tribute to my dad and Tom.
Guys i wish you all good luck, hope you'll never collide with this fucking sickness.
Take care and spend more time with your parents and people you love.

    _Of what matters most_
:') *Architects* never fail to amaze me...
To some this is just some mindless screaming and noise, they don't even pay attention to the lyrics. To me, this mix of heavy (and awesome!) vocals and instrumentals with astounding lyrics is what makes this song a musical masterpiece.

Few artists have had as profound an impact on my life as much as these guys have. Their music helped me through my very darkest of days, truly. It kept me pushing on when I felt I had nothing left to give. One day, we will all reach the end of the path. What a devastating loss for everyone involved with the band, friends, family and fans. He has left a huge legacy as a great guitarist/songwriter and all-around top bloke. Massive blow for music, stay strong guys - looking forward to seeing you in November, it will be an emotional one. Thank you Tom.

Your name carries more than disease///a symbol of man brought to his knees.... these lyrics and all his other lyrics from the last two albums are talking about what Tom is feeling like while he is dying, and to go through something like that with all the physical pain and mental pain is amazing! #bemindfulofdeath #mementomori RIP TOM SEARLE
