9:20 "...did they really make this for League of Legends?!"
Yes as you mentioned earlier, Riot is a music label that uses LOL to advertise their songs.
I guess it just took me by initial surprise that a song I’ve known for so long was made for this. It’s just really cool 😄
Memes aside, they made multiple entire songs and music videos, hired extremely talented vocalists from both America and Korea, and produced absolute bangers just to advertise cosmetic SKINS for characters in their game. And it worked. K/DA Ahri is one of the most purchased skins in League history.
Good shiet!
video is kinda quiet compared to your voice
Thank you for taking time to react to this bts series, as if the show itself wasn't great, they managed to make an amazing documentary series as well, and I'm really glad you're watching this and discuss this!
They really did! Super well made and edited 😄
Melinda was very proud of her one Annie award.
Arcane got her 9 more.
Those 3 Annie awards put Arcane at the 3rd most Annie award holders for a series since the creation of the award. And all of it came from a single season while first place is 30 Annie awards in 30 seasons.
All of which were well deserved 👍🏻
You really should do a reaction to K/DA "Pop/stars". The music video for the virtual kpop group by RIOT. It has over 500 million views and is visually amazing as well as being a bop of a song. Again, you don't have to worry at all about copyright for the K/DA music. There are hundreds of full length and unobscured reactions to it on the internet. K/DA has 5 or 6 music videos on the official RIOT youtube channel.
I’ll definitely look into it!
Its absolutely wild what kind of stuff goes on behind the scenes. And you could probably guess that Arcane went through a lot in production. But the multiple near death scenarios this thing ran into is crazy and its even crazier that they managed to bounce back multi times. And I know you don't know the other stuff surrounding league, but go take a look at their UA-cam channel. "Popstars" and "Rise" are some of their most popular videos with absolutely mind-bending view counts, AND THEY GOT CREATED JUST TO KEEP FORTICE AROUND. Like that so insane to me that 2 videos that are super high quality in their own right, and we as players thought they were awesome in their own right, only to find out they got made out of "desperation"
And as an animator myself, that last line is too damn true. Animation is a MEDIUM not a genre. You could make a comedy, a drama, an action film, or whatever. And make it live action or animated, and obviously they each have their own benefits and challenges. But right now 9/10 times when you talk to someone about animation they think of cartoons or just Disney and Pixar movies, when it can be so much more. And Arcane is the fking prime example of it, its a stupidly uniquely animated show that is better crafted than a number of other live action dramas.
All of this here 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻 I 1000% agree with all of this!
After your own story, I’m calling it (in the best way possible), you’re going to tear up watching Christian in episode 5. I know I did, after going through something similar (fucking up and drowning in self-doubt ). So, enjoy the ride :)
Oh I ABSOLUTELY cried 😅😭
@@TheGamingTeacher1 and I absolutely saw it when you published the last reaction 😇
That moment is, to me, one of the most visual and human representations of the blue and yellow core memories being created like in “Inside Out” 🤯 😢😊😌
Like, if someone asked me, “what that movie is showing is impossible, show me that in the real world”, I’d show that documentary and turn off the screen at that precise scene at the premiere party.
Thank you for all you do. You’re great. Cheers!
Riot produced a lot of amazing videos, including music clips. If you want to react to some of their best ones, just ask.
I'm advising "kda pop-stars", the animation is also made by Fortiche, and needless to say, it's amazing. The music also rocks, and I'm really not a fan of K-pop usually.
They always said :" Arcane is a loveletter to our player community" (because we asked for this for over 10 years now - we know the potential of the lore) If others enjoy it as well it is a plus but they wanted primarily to give their community something back for their loyalty and always active feedback. That's why they wanted it to be so good - it is a thank you to the community and the community wouldn't get the message if they delivered a shitty show (well, the league community doesn't hold back when it comes to critcs so they obviously wanted to spare themseves that disaster XD ). They know their community very well because most of them are a part of it themselves. They also play the game regularly at the company(department tournaments and stuff) and are really connected to the characters which is why I think the story could delevope into such a good plot. They don't work with people who are not open to try out the game at least and get the characters to know in the game. And you see that even "the projects on the fly" can turn out into gold ! They stalled the time with the Worlds song "Rise" and the developements of their kpop group K/DA (which I highly recommend to watch!). The managed to turn a disaster into platinum(received this year) in regards to K/DA which is absolutely crazy !
The making of this show is an insane story itself and shows that you shouldn't stop on great ideas just because you feel down or stuck for a moment. Don't give up and believe in yourself and your team and you can reach great heights! I really hope this translates to other companies as well which take it as a good example how to work on pioneer projects in order to make the best of it.
And Christian is very right in saying :"If you make something without pressure at all, you'll make something people forget". In every great project a certain amount of pressure is necessary because otherwise it gets sloppy or you never finish. Obviously you shouldn't crush people but a healthy pressure at certain times is necessary to get the best out of everyone. Balance is key here.
The reason they are not confident, is well of course because it's extremely hard to produce, and they are figuring everything on the fly. But also mainly because the LoL community is very vocal when they are not happy (and are often unhappy). These Riot employees know that very well and I bet they felt a lot of pressure to try to satisfy the fans
If you did a run of all the league cinematics I wouldn’t even be mad 😂 some of the recent ones look so good it almost looks like real life in some shots it’s crazy
the animation of "kda pop-stars" is breathtaking, on par with arcane frankly (and of course, it was made by Fortiche).
@@leovk5779 yessss and the call is beautiful aswell.
The thing that will probably surprise you the most, is episode 5 of this documentary runs all the way up to the night of the global premier. And everyone is still absolutely terrified of the reception.
I noticed that! Still honestly blows my mind but shows how much they care.
Considering how good Arcane turned out to be, I think we need to credit Riot as a company for stopping production when they did. I can't imagine their original story being as good as what they ultimately turned out after Riot put up the stop sign, which tells me Riot was correct in their initial assessment.
Love the content. It's kinda hard on my ears going from their almost-whispered content to your really loud voice. Is there a way for you to balance things a little more so it's not so jarring?
Amanda is one of my favorite people right now. The fact that she fought for the "you're hot, cupcake," line is awesome. 🌈 So many of the most emotionally wrenching scenes seem to have come from her. Everyone who worked on this is just amazing and deserves so much praise and trust. All of them are phenomenal!
Great video! Keep going!
I wish my son could have you as a teacher.
Algorithm comment.
idk why people always think league has a bad reputation
its literally only because a lot of people that play are toxic but thats not really riots fault
and the game itself in my opinion is great
I have a friend who wants to play a private match with me so I may try that first! I’m definitely interested after this show!
@@TheGamingTeacher1 ah cool yeah i would recommend playing with a friend starting against bots and then trying some aram its really fun and great to try out new champions
also if you find toxic people just mute and report them arguing with people is too tilting lol
hope you have fun its genuinely my favorite game
@@MrAchsas I literally only play ARAM now because it really is just fun and FAR less Toxic. But I am not really into all the meta gaming stuff, I just want to team fight and try different champions and have a blast with that.
The way I understood it it's that they were going to let go the employees but then they asked Riot if there was something else they could give Fortiche to work on while they waited for the green light on Arcane.
But I may got it wrong, so Idk if they actually let go employees or not.
Btw you don't have to mute/cover/cut the video, it's on Riot UA-cam channel so don't worry.
Episode 3 is the best (just like the show)
Next episde is the best
Episode 3
13:02 violent ex convict beats disabled woman.
*violent disabled criminal woman lol
😂😂😂😂💀💀💀
Btw the scene in the writers room when they were talking about story details, that was all about season 2.
That makes me so damn excited 😄
To see you react to the bts of the series and put in the effort to film, edit, and upload really shows how passionate you are. Not a lot of reactors I've watched do this and for that, thank you. It's been torture waiting for the next season so having new content about Arcane even indirectly is awesome.
