This child is a guitar prodigy. Two years later, at the age of 13, he was in the band Bad4Good, a band formed by Steve Vai, an excellent band that could not see the light of day due to the birth of grunge.
When you've listened to passion and warfare since its release and never knew there was a video and you have an image of how everyone looked according to the voices. This is nothing like it.
That's the beauty of, the image in your mind was yourself with your wild friends being as epic as one could imagine to be. It wrote a story that all could share but exist inside of different novels of one's life and yet exist in the same space without fucking the time space continuum. Wild Stallions!!!
Oh I don't know, this is pretty close to what I imagined it to be. An awesome young guitar player tearing up the school. Teachers hate him, the kids love him. This video is what we all dreamt of being in the 80s 🤘
Thomas was also in a BBC2 Arena documentary in the late 80’s. It was showcasing the NWOHM and they had a camera crew in the old Red Cow pub in Hammersmith and this lad was playing his dad’s guitar, believe me he was good and he got a standing ovation from a pub full of greasy rockers.
I've listened to this song since 1991 when I first got Passion and Warfare, and today I saw the video for the first time (thanks UA-cam) and wow, such a mind blowing experience to finally see what I imagined in my head come to life! Thanks to Steve Vai for being such an incredible story teller through music!
Same here, just now! One of the first CD's I ever bought, and to see it come to life, wow. I'm from Australia, so music video shows had limited air time, probably why I never saw this.
This child is a guitar prodigy. Two years later, at the age of 13, he was in the band Bad4Good, a band formed by Steve Vai, an excellent band that could not see the light of day due to the birth of grunge.
Also, I don't think him and Steve had the best of relationships. He was apparently a difficult kid and at one point he destroyed one of Steve's guitars. Steve took revenge by sawing one of his and there's a picture of him playing live with the guitar Steve sawed
This little boy in the persona of Steve Vai is Thomas McRocklin, former Lucy's Milk and Bad 4 Good bands. At the age 7 he recorded a solo album. I recommend you guys listening "Refugee", the first and unique album from Bad 4 Good, released in '93. The Steve's son Julian Vai is the child on the cover of the album.
The Drummer of Bad 4 Good is Brooks Wackerman who is recently the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold.. Thomas also has released 3 cds in the past couple years.. he's back to playing after a 20 year hiatus. And he is mind blowing..you can hear all his new stuff here on YT
About 10 years ago when my son was little, this came on in one of my UA-cam playlists. My son grabbed his guitar hero guitar, threw it on with the guitar strap, and danced around, making believe he was playing like you, Steve. I have a few seconds video clip of it from my old iPhone which I am still searching for. He is 20 now, and still remembers that particular memory AND the song! He was THISCLOSE to taking guitar lessons in middle school, when he decided it wasn't for him - he is autistic and has dexterity issues. He loved playing but got easily frustrated. I was so bummed because his school general music teacher said he was really good with the ear training.
@@spookedhorse well of course, Eddie himself would admit that. But of course Vai would always put his idols on a pedestal above him. Both of them are good and influential.
Eddie was great for a time but he's been playing the same scales for decades. All of his solos are identical. Vai.....well.....he's a master. End of story.
