Joe is living proof that songs don't need lyrics. When you play that well you can paint a picture which is more than a thousand words especially the way that Joe does it ♥️

The first time I ever heard this song was in the menus of Formula 1 on the Playstation 1. I would play it all the time, and drive the Adelaide Circuit. Good times.
I have seen Satriani live 3 times and I can't help but be amazed at his abilities with a guitar. I felt the same amazement when I saw Hendrix on August 1970 in Philadelphia , Pa.
my Dad Jesse Llamas said that Satriani and Hendrix were as good as it gets in the straight rock world(he was more of a Bluesman),and his band opened for Zep and Jethro Tull in one of their first shows in the U.S. and felt that way about Satch and Jimi
This song embodies the summer season so well. Powerful, like the sun gazing down on you. Long and extensive, like the feeling of the summer day(s). Energetic and lively, like a summer's festival. I love this song.
I know it sounds dramatic, but this song literally changed the course of my life. I heard it on the TV in a Sony commercial and it stopped me dead in my tracks. In a very short amount of time I broke up with my girlfriend, left my band, sold almost everything I owned and moved to California to go to music school. Music has been good to me along the way and I've had some blessed experiences between then and now. A few years ago I got to tell Joe how much of an impact his music has had on me and he was as gracious as anyone could be.
This tune kicks ass. Satch smokes on this song. This is perhaps one of the greatest guitar instrumentals of all time. The lead work at the end is as soulful as it is technically fluent and virtuosic.
I was SO thrilled when I first heard this work and discovered The Extremist. As a violinist, I had always associated instruments with featured performances and never felt satisfied when hearing blistering guitar solos limited to short segments within songs. This title introduced a whole new world to me. Thanks for the years of inspiration, Joe!
I first heard the song on G3 live in concert cassette. The album cover looked so good that bought it right away. The songs blew me away. Satriani, Vai and Eric Johnson really made me want to listen to every song again and again and study those details of guitar playing.
This is the song that made me discover the amazing Joe Satriani long time ago!! The Extremist album is fuc****GREAT 🔥 ...And Joe keeps playing better than ever like the good wine. God and all bless Joe.
