Joe deserved a grammy for this song. What a masterpiece!
Grammy HELL This should be the National Anthem
@@mikelong366 Seasonal Anthem?
@@archlich4489 good one!😂
*No one gets a grammy because they deserve one. The political gainsmanship behind the distribution of grammies has only been glimpsed by its parallel corruption exposed in recent events like Gov. Cuomo getting an Emmy for his droning on about how great a job he did in NY while killing 15,000 senior citizens. Its about paybacks, pushing careers and making up for money lost on album releases. Ex. Fran Ferdinand's grammy I was told by their manager personally that they got it because the label lost money on their record and they hoped it would help generated a couple hundred thousand units in sales.*
Yup
my neighbours loved this song so much they threw a brick through my window to hear it louder
Lol
Success!
send him back
LMAO, same here
I bet you didn't even notice the brick until you'd finished playing the album. Such an awesome album. Gotta love cool neighbours!
Joe is living proof that songs don't need lyrics. When you play that well you can paint a picture which is more than a thousand words especially the way that Joe does it ♥️
For the longest time I didn't even realize it had no lyrics, I listen to Ozzy's boneyard (Ozzys station on Sirius XM) and have been listening to it for a while and one day when it came on I decided I'd sing it but then realized I forgot the lyrics... Then quickly realised there were none lmao
Joe Sinatriani
Guitar notes enlighten, words corrupt 🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sin dudas
His phrasing with the guitar is perfect, imo, even Eddie couldn't "sing" with his guitar like that.
This song made me want to play guitar. I remember hearing it on a Sony Walkman commercial and they were kind enough to credit Joe in the commercial. I asked for the cassette for my birthday and was blown away. At 11 years old I called the local news papers to get a paper route so I could buy my first guitar. Within a few years I was playing this song. It’s permanently embedded in my muscle memory and such a significant part of who I am.
That's when I first heard it in 93 or 94, had to ask my hippie art teacher who it was.
That’s fuckin cool
Here’s the commercial:

This was the first Joe Satriani song I learned on the guitar when I was younger. I'm 31 and still rock it
That is so awesome!!!🎁
Me and my husband before we got married we would go on a Sunday drive in the country and listen to this satriani summer song 🎶
if you have an electric guitar you can play along. The opening is in d major and he emphasizes the e note before resolving to a then going to d minor. Not hard stuff to play as its easy theory and he isnt playing fast. I figured out the opening in three minutes
I Was There, Back In 1992. This Was Filmed At The Saugus Speedway, Ca. I'm At 0:06, 1;45 And 2:25. Back When I Had Long Hair! 🤣
🙃
Did you ever live in T.O.? Are you related to Chris Mata? Or Jesus/Jose(I can't remember his real name as he went by Chuy) and Aidee Gomez
wow that's so cool
Somewhere and somehow you will live through ages through this video....in metaphorical aspect....great man I guess you are lucky....👍🤘
@Kevin Prima Cantrell
I love the positive vibe we can feel from this song. It warms my heart.
yes is cool - he got so meny song - you know more that speed energy songs of Joe ?
It worms my heart from 25 years :) I still feel the heat :D.
This was actually all over mainstream radio the year it came out, and having an instrumental on mainstream rock radio is an extreme rarity! Unfortunately the video & radio version was missing the sublime resolution of the total tune. Make sure to search "Satriani Summer Song HQ" to hear that tasty last little bit!

@@pablot-r9402I remember it being used in a Sony commercial in late 1992.
This song encapsulates the image and feel of cruising down the Pacific Coast highway in a convertible vet with the sun shining, the wind in your hair and the Pacific Ocean Just yards away. Make it last forever! That's my endless summer! ☀️
2019 - this song is awesome!
2035 - this song is awesome!

👍💯🤟
2067 🏄💀👊☀👏
I remember 1992 - this song is awesome!!
When a guitar sounds that good, you don’t need someone singing over the riffs. It sang on its own.
Joe Satriani could honestly play guitar, like an orchestra on guitar.Totally a gifted guitistist.
No vocals needed
@@peggyfranzen6159 He can also sing.
And you're a treasure for knowing the difference between "it's" and "its" haha
2024 ❤?
I've been listening to Satriani for over 35 years and never knew that he made a video until just now. lol
Same here haha. And a pretty kickass video at that!

I can recommend big bad moon, awesome vid

This song is the day where everything just goes right.

Thomas Stadler yep. The chrome is shiny, the beer is cold, the chicks are hot, and the grill is lit.😎
True words 💪🏻
No, it can also go when the day is going like shit, play it and you will save the day...
hell yeah..grin grin lol

This song is magical. I never get bored of it and it fills me with joy everytime i listen to it
Damn right. This is pure no fucking around hell yes. When I'm down for whatever reason, this is my "go to".
I think I was 13 when I first heard this on Gran Turismo 4 and couldn't stop myself from air-guitaring all over the living room. This is the sole reason I started playing guitar :D
Yes & Gran Turismo had a bunch of good songs..Loved that game
I have no words....and apparently, neither did Joe.
He didn't need em
+BushiBato be a lot cooler if he had some to go with it
It's called Guitar rock for a reason.
+James Show damn! and this whole time I thought it was "not vocally talented enough-rock" thanks
OK Well why did you choose a Joe Satriani song? he's almost totally guitars, very little in the way of vocals.
Man, that guy just bottled a hot summer vacation/road-trip day, took its essence and made a song out of it. Plain simple genius.
Still rocks hard in 2023 🎸🎶🎛🔥
That is one of the best rockers of all time! Everything he does is fantastic! When he played for chicken foot he absolutely made that band a masterpiece! Definitely with out a doubt top 5 rock guitarist of all time!
Lucky enough to see Satriane live in MMRDA mumbai.guitar has no limit. This number makes me ride my car and bike.
When Joe rocks......................people listen !! 😎👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Still hits the spot 30 years on !
I could play this song on a continuous loop all Summer 24/7.
Who's still listening in 2023? 🎸
Chief🤔 it's 2024😂
@@KennethBeich I posted that, in 2023, Sherlock.

This Song is So Awesome, I Don't Have Words. Apparently, Neither Did Joe.
Man could make his guitar talk! Love him
This tune kicks ass. Satch smokes on this song. This is perhaps one of the greatest guitar instrumentals of all time. The lead work at the end is as soulful as it is technically fluent and virtuosic.
The lyrics of this song are based on a true story.
Yes, correct! Joe mentions that in a piece in the New Yorker and Guitar Player magazines.
I don't hear any lyrics
What lyrics
hahahahahhaaaa, nice and very funny comment
"N O T H I N G"
Joe is living proof that songs don't need lyrics. When you play that well you can paint a picture which is more than a thousand words especially the way that Joe does it ♥
Not a guitar solo guy, and didn't remember the name of this song. But I did remember the melody, and searched for it until I could find that memory of that time. Found it! This dude can play, and the composition is perfect for that time and place that it created a memory for us. Well done dude, this is a classic, tried and true in the memory of my life. TY kindly.
It has become an instant classic when I heard it the first time!
GRANDE SATRIANI !
GRANDE!

How's the MMA career?
Il più grande!!!! \m/
uno dei più grandi di sempre
Joe is so cool that Cool Himself is jealous. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
YEP!!
The first time I ever heard this song was in the menus of Formula 1 on the Playstation 1. I would play it all the time, and drive the Adelaide Circuit. Good times.
Waiting to see Satch and Vai in about 2 hrs. Life is kickass!! 🎸🎶

I have seen Satriani live 3 times and I can't help but be amazed at his abilities with a guitar. I felt the same amazement when I saw Hendrix on August 1970 in Philadelphia , Pa.
my Dad Jesse Llamas said that Satriani and Hendrix were as good as it gets in the straight rock world(he was more of a Bluesman),and his band opened for Zep and Jethro Tull in one of their first shows in the U.S. and felt that way about Satch and Jimi
very lucky
Probably the best rock guitar instrumental ever written, great melodies, driving rhythm, excellent arrangement and Joe's unique soloing - magic
Santana's Europa comes to mind too. But for a pure rocker, this can't be beat. Rock on, Joe.
Steve Vai's "For the love of God" is better.
Orion by Metallica is better than all that have been listed .
@@Dr.WestsideHell no it isn't. Waves by Guthrie Govan is though.
Cliffs of dover
This is my absolute FAVOURITE song of all time!
It's so upbeat and rocky, it makes me happy every time I listen to it! It really cheers me up whenever I am down.
SATRIANI ROCKS!
Happy Summer Everyone 😎🙂😎🙂🙂
After years of listening to this song, i still get the chills all over my body when i listen to it, just like the first time i heard it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
☺
+Srđan Tubin Still sounds killer! My favorite part is edited out though.
You should call 911.
such a GREAT song and guitarist !
Chills. Same here. Gotta love it!! Lol
The tone and phrasing is awesome. So soulful and musical. Joe is a legend of guitar
I was SO thrilled when I first heard this work and discovered The Extremist. As a violinist, I had always associated instruments with featured performances and never felt satisfied when hearing blistering guitar solos limited to short segments within songs. This title introduced a whole new world to me. Thanks for the years of inspiration, Joe!
When we did the shot of Joe standing in the middle of the track we were all very nervous especially Joe because the cars had been banging into themselves all day long and there are alignments were very very off
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR JOE SATRIANI! A REAL GUITAR HERO AND A MÁSTER OF THE SIX STRINGS! 🤘🤘🎸🎸😎😎
2021-This song is awesome!

i remember listening to this awesome jam back in 1992. still sounds amazing as it did then.
Man....brings back some great memories. My buddy Matt and I in school learning how to play guitar...dreaming we could play half as good as Joe satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie van halen, or Eric Johnson...
This song embodies the summer season so well. Powerful, like the sun gazing down on you. Long and extensive, like the feeling of the summer day(s). Energetic and lively, like a summer's festival. I love this song.
This is my summer anthem ♥️
Definitely road trip music!!!
Formula One, PS One... 🥰
"Who is this hair-guy playing like Satriani?"

101.5 KGB FM the DSC in San Diego starts their morning show off with this song everyday, never get tired of it
I first heard the song on G3 live in concert cassette. The album cover looked so good that bought it right away. The songs blew me away. Satriani, Vai and Eric Johnson really made me want to listen to every song again and again and study those details of guitar playing.
Sept 2023. Still a timeless classic. I love the drums and bassline.
he used a drum machine originally
March 31st 2024, and yes it is ! Joe ROCKS !!!

Bought the album the week it was released. Jams
My 6 week old child love this.
Who can possibly dislike this masterpiece? I can't believe it.

I love the part at 3:32. What a melody, what a sound.
This is some of the most beautiful guitar playing i've ever heard!
Happy birthday Joe!
This is the song that made me discover the amazing Joe Satriani long time ago!! The Extremist album is fuc****GREAT 🔥
...And Joe keeps playing better than ever like the good wine.
God and all bless Joe.
One of my favorite, if not, favorite guitarist. Go Joe.
I remember when Sony advertised their Walkman using this great song in their ad.
The Ibanez has a song like no other guitar. Its almost to easy to play. If you jump from a Les Paul to an Ibanez. You can totally tell. I have met Js. Nicest guy you will ever meet. Took time out & this was the 80’s. He was a busy man. I lived next to his grandparents in Winchester Ma. I don’t know if he gave them the tickets for us or they were Xmas gifts I was young 12-13. Hard worker. I have seen a lot of greats Eric C. Stevie RV. He plays differently. Very hard while making it look simple. No blues face when stretching out cords. Like playing the piano or keyboard with posture. But you listen & at points your like what’s he doing to that poor thing. Your guitar is gonna catch on fire.
3:34 - 3:45 is my favourite piece of Satch playing. Every time I hear it, it sends shivers up my spine!
By far the greatest instrumental rock song ever!!! Satriani rules!!!
"Who ever needed vocals?" Joe Satriani
Sure it's got vocals. He makes the guitar sing.
a masterpiece, this is the track with which I discovered Joe's music so many years ago
to make a song and let it sing with a guitar is pretty impressive
+Lex Buren That's what Satriani does best :D
lolnoobhax indeed very true, he is a guitar vocalist
+Lex Buren you should see Yangwie Malemsteen (tortured the spelling)
Yngwie is a beast. There's some really good new age instrumental groups who are heavily influenced by Joe, & Yngwie. Polyphia, Intervals, Sithu Aye, & Plini just to name a few. Check them out if you haven't already.
DOn't forget Steve Vai... :)
Damn I found it! The name and composer of this song escaped me for years! I found it!
I'm going through that at the moment, a 7 month brain fart over a Buckethead tune i remember and love, but I can't remember the name of the tune as he has so many... like Satch has
This takes me back to Dad driving us to holiday us kids in the back loving the loud music and Dads driving felt like we were flying. Still listening now....as is my 15 year old son. Pure magic lets keep this music alive ⭐️ our kids need to hear more 😍😍😍 my Josh has been listening since in the womb 😂 now he plays guitar effortlessly age 15 🤩🥳💥💥💥💥💥 Love you JOE!!!!!!!! Thank you for all the pure magic ❤
Such a great Satriani classic.
One of a small handful of about 5 rock and roll bands that kept rock and roll on life support between the mid to late 80s.
I've been collecting his music ever since 1986.
His creativity is so consistent. It's mind-blowing.
You can't make music this good no more
Thanks to gran turismo 4, it has given me this masterpiece
I remember when it was on GT 4 too but also knew this song before that
This appears in Formula 1 95 for PSX too
true early 90s music. nice
I'm a teacher. To me, this song and theme to Endless Summer expresses the joy and exhilaration of summer.
When life and music were magical ...
This has been my favorite Satch song since I was a kid back in the 90s, it’s what got me into music. I keep all of his stuff on my playlists now, he’s such an incredible guitarist.
My favorite Joe Satriani song. Greetings from Montreal!
This has to be the best underrated pieces of music of all time!
Would be interested if anyone knows where his music has been used in movies?
I can feel & smell summer every time I hear this song, even in mid January. I don't even have words for this sound, it's exclusively Satriani and he is a master. He makes it look so easy! Makes me happy every damn time I hear it. Turn it up!
This song is meant to be listened to outdoors , with the volume up.
In a speed boart bouncing over the waves!
Aye, the louder this is played the better it gets (and it's brilliant when quiet!); but it's just not possible to play it loud enough - we haven't got the technology. Volume of Biblical proportions is not loud enough. I want to hear this across the stars!
Rush strangiato
Yes turn up radio load all summer.
just as good in bed lol
Flying down the highway in my dodge challenger with this blasting during a beautiful summer day. Doesn't get much better than that.
My Wifes Favorite Song! ❤❤
This song is awesome, from the album "llena tu cabeza de rock 1993" in Colombia, I was young in 1993 of course, and I still have the CD. Masterpiece.
CD? 😊
I love all those people with their hands over their hearts....like this should be the new national anthem (I'm totally down with that)
Shot in Mexico.😂
I'm not prejudice...
But like it. Rock on people. Live the Music 👍🎸
One of the coolest tunes I listened to on my Walkman in the early 1990’s when I caught the Satriani bug
One of the nicest songs you can hear while you're in the car, wonderful ! Great Joe !
Joe's voice on this music is really awesome! Every word is poetry itself!
ROCKS 🌟✨
Shot in Mexico
This song ROCK!!! Brings back a lot of memories
Had the cassette tape and wore it out. This song never gets old
One of the most bad assed jams there is. Love playing it cranked flying down the freeway .
The BEST guitar ballad ever played. The whole album is great!!!
"Ballad"? I'll give you Always With Me Always With You but this is just rocking fun
I would say "Love Thing" might be a better ballad of his, but this is an excellent rock track!!
