Zack, I am glad you recieved an extra couple of days to reach your final opinion. In my view, the slot car track and Signia get a 👑👑👑👑👑 rating. I think the XLE on 19" rims would give a better ride on potholed roads and maybe add 1 or 2 mpg. 🤩
Toyota's hybrid transmission is not a CVT. It's been proven to be reliable over the last 25 years. I like the Crown Signia and would look at one if I wanted something nicer than my Subaru Outback. I like that it's a bit more restrained than a Lexus. I'm surprised that a car that costs that much and is the higher trim doesn't come with tinted windows. Toyota does options and trim levels weird.
i've been between an outback and one of these for a while now, and i think i'm leaning closer and closer to one of these. it actually has physical buttons and knobs!!
Exactly. Besides far worse fuel economy, the Outback has a godawful enormous vertical touchscreen that takes up the whole dash. It's also basically a ten year old car that they're running out the clock on in 2025 before they ruin it by turning into a huge SUV.
Problems with the Crown Insignia Limited. Low profile tires with no spare tire is a recipe for disaster. Can't drive this car off road or on potholes filled city streets. An old gen 4 hybrid system that is coarser and noisier than the gen 5 system in the 2025 Camry which is $14000 cheaper A sunroof that cannot be opened for ventilation. What is the point? 1ft longer than the RAV4, Sportage, etc but with the same rear seat room and less trunk space. In addition, it has a large turning circle, making it harder to park in the city. You can get the XLE but then you can't get cross traffic warning, 360 camera, etc It is $8000 to $10000 more than an equivalently equipped Sportage, Tucson, RAV4, CRT.
NX is tiny compared to this, and the RX has annoying electronic door handles plus a huge screen for everything including climate controls. Plus that hideous front end. Just in time for me being able to afford one, it's no longer a desirable vehicle in my opinion. I'm going with the CS.
I kind of feel the same way. I had wanted a Lexus NX or UX. I test drove both of those along with the Crown Signia. I ended up ordering the Crown Signia although I think Lexus service is better. I really love Lexus cars-been driving one for 15 years now, but the Crown Sig just felt right. I was able to simply step out of the car instead of hop down or pull up. Kind of a Goldilocks moment for me. It was easier to drive size wise, and I think it will make a great everyday car. Definitely not sporty or “fun” but solid. I guess I really wanted a raised station wagon, I just didn’t know it.
I have a Acura TSX station wagon and this is the ONLY viable replacement. The buick tourx was the other but the short production run and parts availability make this Crown Signia the only viable replacement
PLEASE know that Toyota Hybrids DO NOT HAVE CVT transmissions. They are PLANETARY GEAR TRANSMISSIONS... which will go a million miles if you change the fluid every 60-90k miles.
Toyota's E-CVT is physically different than any conventional push belt CVT. Toyota eCVT is the simplest most reliable transmission without any wear parts. No clutch, no torque converter, no belt or chain. Just pure gear on gear with ball bearing submerged in ATF WS. There is no single 3rd gen Transmission failure reported over millions of Toyota
mannnn Here in Canada its the same price as a mid spec grand highlander, a base 4runner, Lexus nx with sport package or a base rx350. Its just too expensive for what you get!
Toyota Canada has increased the price of everything in their lineup and eliminated access to base models like the Camry LE, Grand Highlander LE and Crown Signia XLE. The vehicles you listed are no better or worse a 'deal' than the Signia Limited. In the US, the 2025 4Runner SR5 and Signia XLE are priced within $1,000.
The only thing I think that describe it well is just "eh" not even meh just eh. The exterior is just eh. the interior is just typical modern car, nasty screen gauges and average infotainment slop. Typical price, typical hybrid with cvt. It is just the most average new car and not is a good way like the old camrys or corollas, it is just eh. New cars are very depressing. But hey I am certainly not the target audience for any new cars it seems.
Very cool. I do wish they kept the Venza nameplate, and called it the Venza Crown or something. Signia looks like a typo at best, and an unfortunate word at worst.
That windshield wiper defroster just strikes me as needing more expensive wipers. I like the little stops on the back of the back seats. The red is definitely prettier than the blue.
I haven’t seen how this car does it, but some cars (e.g. Chrysler minivans) have done wiper defrosters as just heated glass in the area where the wipers park. If it’s like that, you’d just use ordinary wiper blades.
The defroster elements are built into the windshield where the wiper parks. It's no different than the back wiper. My Subaru has heated wipers and it's been fantastic the past few months.
The shot at Nissan was *chef’s kiss*.

XLE is the best value for money

oh no the theme song is gone
It's still at the end.
@6:16 he called it folks…it’s a station wagon.

I can never forgive that volume dial.
Good review. Definitely want to test drive this back to back with the CX-50. Gonna be one or the other for us

I’d say the Signia is the better looking model by far. The sedan version just looks… weird
Realistically the best car for most people, but so close to Lexus pricing… I’d rather have the Lexus.
CPO Lexus baby.
Signia is spacious than NX and as big as RX. And the Xle trim starts at 43k. No way you get a new Lexus for that price.

The nicest Toyota that I have ever seen.
Nice XP screenshots.

Thought it said crown sigma
What is simga is it a ligma thing
Smegma
@@Sha-Ayo what
Be cool if Toyota brought the sedan version of the Crown to the US but I understand why they don't.

I like this thing. Way better than the venza
This will soon be forgotten once the new Rav4 arrives, especially if it uses the same 5th generation hybrid as the new Camry.
Theme song?
That is good looking vehicle. It really is a Lexus.

Also, first
Toyotas' are too expensive, i prefer Nissan. Just service your Nissan and it will be reliable
