We had a 2022 XSE. Someone ran a stop sign Sunday and impacted the XSE at the front right side, scraped their driver side across the XSE to the drive side. Our daughter was driving. She had just pulled forward from a stop sign and the other driver blew through their stop sign and hit the XSE around 30 mph probably. Our front fenders both popped off/tore, hood pushed in, fender also pushed back into the driver door, headlights smashed all over road, grill and front fascia laying on ground. Leaking fluids etc. But my daughter is ok. Sore. Bruised. Our airbags didn’t deploy bc she was going so slow. The at fault party air bags deployed bc their front end hit and driver side hit our front area at their higher rate of speed. It ripped the sheet metal off their driver side front and rear doors. The tow truck driver was able to start and drive the XSE onto the flatbed.
Was undecided between so many cars for so long. I really liked the Signia but was afraid to buy one as i havent seen a single one on the road. However, im deciding to buy one today. Thanks for the video! Not just this one but many others as well
Check out the video that the Car Care Nut did about this car. AMD is a Toyota mechanic with his own shop. His reviews are hands down the best since he knows all the mechanical things about cars. Do rest assured that the Crown Signia isn’t a crazy new car. It’s built with parts that have been used on many cars. The transmission comes from the Highlander and Sienna hybrids. It’s heavier duty than the transmission on the RAV4 and Venza.
@@Gopinathk17 I’ve driven the Venza and the Crown sedan. I prefer the Avalon to both of them, but it is gone from the US market and served a different niche. The Crown handled slightly firmer than the Venza so I assume the same is true for the Signia.

Just got back from testing both. If you compare specs head to head, its hard to beat the Rav4. However theres just something about the looks and interior of the Signia that is hard to measure. Has that overall "premium" feel to the Signia. Didn't like the Signia at first but found that the Copper color really shows off the design well.
Awesome comparison as always! I’m really curious how the Crown Signia compares to the Highlander Platinum, because they are within $5,000 of each other and they are about the same size. Thanks for posting!

One thing with cargo volume is the signia is longer (like a trunk) and the rav 4 is shorter and more upright. I think most people will find the longer space better as it is “safer” to use that cargo volume. I bet if you get all 37 cubic feet in the back of the rav 4 and open the back something is going to fall out.
I wish they would breakdown the storage capacity by seat height and total…I rarely, if ever, see anyone stack things above the seat height in any car due to visibility…Love the Crown Signia, but hope they offer smaller tire options…not a fan of the low profile trend that has permeated every car these days…not necessary and serves absolutely no purpose other than being a trend.
Agreed . Both are good vehicles there’s only one thing that’s interesting on the SUV variant they do not have a MAX engine option, like they do on the Toyota Crown Sedan. Maybe, if enough people complain, it will be available. Also Lexus Toyota option the Highlander is also a good option

Wife and I have the Crown Signia XLE version, and it is a very nice car over our previous RAV 4 limited, but we are disappointed with the fact our XLE does not have Parking sensors, like the RAV 4 Limited had!!
Im glad i saw this as i am currently shopping for a new toyota. I love the plush features of the crown signia but the two big winners for me on the Rav4 are the open moon roof and cargo space which are thr 2 most important things for me with gas mileage being the next. 😊
I looked over a Crown Signia at the dealer’s, to compare it to my 24 Venza. I found it to be much lower than the Venza, a wagon, so probably not on the same platform as the RAV4, except the drive train is similar. I’m kinda of surprised Toyota is still doing the same RAV4 after maybe six years. The Crown Signia feels like a wagon. It is nicely styled though, inside and out. The interior dash is smoother than the Venza, not that the V is dated. The center console is nice. The actual buttons are better than Venza’s soft-touch buttons.
Who is the idiot at Toyota who decided that a moonroof that doesn't open is a good idea? A big part of the failure of the second Venza, and the sole reason why my wife isn't driving one now.
I feel the higher spec trim Crown doesn't gain enough to bother spending over 50k. The base model would've likely fared the same against the RAV4 for barely more money. Still, terrific comparo, and you did a terrific job itemizing. I'm kind of shopping both of these at the moment.
Why bigger wheels is better? Harsher ride, less fuel efficient, more expensive, in less then two years I pinched 2 of them. Manufactures making better design, so they look better to charge extra grand.
How’d you pinch them? Most people would get better fuel economy if they’d stay home and quit running out multiple times per week to be seen shopping or dining out. They just said the ride was nice and the large 21 inch wheels.
6.7 inches versus 8.1 inches may make a big difference for me. As much as I like the Crown Signia the price point and ground clearance may take it off the table for me as I transition away from Subaru until they get a hybrid vehicle.
Interior space is deceiving. Rarely do people pack the rear compartment to the ceiling to take advantage of all the space. So footprint usually matters more. The IIHS ratings show the Crown as the safer car. RAV4 is not a IIHS top safety pick.

Does the Signia have a spare tire? I have been checking Toyota websites and can't seem to find an answer. No spare tire may turn off quite a few potential buyers.
Good that you did some long drives. How did seat comfort fare after a couple hours in the seats? (Not sure if you got the long drive in the Signia.) Was at a dealer yesterday, and didn't see a Signia on the lot. Plenty of their EV's though. Guess you can tell what is moving and what isn't. Any idea what is happening with the RAV4 for 2025? I'm a bit confused trying to understand Toyota's use of the various drive trains. The '25 Camry comes with the 5th Gen hybrid system, yet the '25 Crown Signia does not. Seems they can tweak the Gen 4, as shown here, to get more power in the Signia vs the RAV4. Not sure how turning radius pans out, but in terms of parking and maneuverability, the Signia must be pushing close to the overall length of a Highlander. (Maybe built on same platform?) Perhaps in the future, a comparison of the Signia at the XLE trim level. How did handling compare? I know the RAV4 Hybrid SE and XSE are supposed to have a more sport tuned suspension than the LE, XLE, and perhaps Limited, but I've never heard anyone comment on whether there is much difference. I like the XSE, but find it annoying that they stuck on those "accent lights" instead of real fog lights. They already have the power supply right where it needs to be. Unless these "accent lights" actually aid illumination in bad weather, I'm not a fan.

Guys, the Crown Signia rides on much longer wheelbase compared to RAV4, is the ride smoother due to that? You did not seem to mention anything regarding ride smoothness and NVH. RAV4 has a spare tire but the SIgnia does not? Is there a 360 degree view in the Signia or RAV4?

Pssst, it's actually a wagon. That's why it's so long and short! You just can't call it that in America because people won't buy them, so of course it's marketed as another crossover/SUV.
The question I have is getting in and out the same between the two as easy on hips and legs with height off the ground? I can't seem to find anyone that talks about that compared to ltes say a Camry which sits much lower
Toyota Crown Signia - Over $51,000 NOT including the "stealership" markup, no HUD, and it looks more like a wagon than an SUV. You would be better off buying an NX 350h.
Signia has more rear leg room than the RAV4 … less headroom tho.. just get the specs of A Crown sedan .. would’ve been more accurate than the unofficial stuff
I had an Avalon limited and traded for a RAV4 XLE Limited. I had decided to trade for a new RAV4 Limited because I missed some features. Drove a Lexus Rx350, that was a mistake. I really wanted to buy it, but fully equipped hybrid was over 60k. Local dealer finally got a Signia, it’s the best of both worlds for me. Toyota should fire whoever priced Signia 50k+. It's crazy..
Is the Crown wheelbase about the same length as the last gen Avalon it replaced?
The question I have is getting in and out the same between the two as easy on hips and legs with height off the ground? I can't seem to find anyone that talks about that compared to ltes say a Camry which sits much lower
We plan to compare Rav4 Prime vs the Signia for our next vehicle. Any thoughts on that comparison?
yes, please! I'm intrigued
You should have compared Crown with Lexus NX
Toyota Crown Signia - Over $51,000 NOT including the "stealership" markup, no HUD, and it looks more like a wagon than an SUV.
You would be better off buying an NX 350h.
They should upgrade interior of Rav 4 that looks Thousands year old
I was particularly interested in the comparison of the rear cargo space. But the way you presented it was completely useless. !
Toyota crown signia
Signia should compare with NX or RX rather than RAV4
51k...you could get a Rav4 prime for that...I don't see any reason to go signia. Rav4 XSE or limited Hybrid is perfect.
Why are you doing this? XSE vs Limited? Why?
Where is the next gen Rav4?
Signia has more rear leg room than the RAV4 … less headroom tho.. just get the specs of A Crown sedan .. would’ve been more accurate than the unofficial stuff
I had an Avalon limited and traded for a RAV4 XLE Limited. I had decided to trade for a new RAV4 Limited because I missed some features. Drove a Lexus Rx350, that was a mistake. I really wanted to buy it, but fully equipped hybrid was over 60k. Local dealer finally got a Signia, it’s the best of both worlds for me. Love my Bronze Age beauty and don’t miss the HUD for the price difference.
The Signia is delayed and there won’t be a tone made, so GLWT anyway. 😂
Any updates on the 2025 rav4 hybrid Thanks
Rav4 is look better
