Mercedes-Benz started this trend with the original CLS,then BMW with the 5 series Gran Coupe etc. Porsche had the Panamera, Honda had the Crosstour (Accord Crosstour), and Acura the ZDX (not the current rebadged Chevy Blazer EV), but they weren't called "coupes".
NGL I defo fw this one, and I'm not a fan of SUVs lol Also I'm loving the new intro, graphics n outro. I wasn't a fan of the old black and white intro with the 8-bit music so this is definitely welcome haha.
The new thumbnail design threw me off. I didn't know it was really a Shooting Cars video until I saw you welcome us, Zack. I think it will take some "getting used to," kinda like writing the new year on your checks in January. Nice that you mix it up, just don't go all "New Coke" on us. Thanks for sharing your experience with this unique vehicle.
Some of the early 2025 videos have experimental thumbnails, some don’t. Just testing the water, but the videos will always go back to the original format after a few days!
Zack the gv80 coupe does have wireless CarPlay with the new system. If yours did not have it you probably had update the software. Because when the new refresh gv80 and coupe first came out they did not have wireless CarPlay at launch. So the software update became available to install that gave it wireless CarPlay. Just a heads up I know it does cause redline reviews review the refresh gv80 and it had wireless CarPlay. So check to see if the software update is available.
Dude the Genesis 5.0s have been on my radar lately. Definitely moreso than anything Acura or Lexus lately, which used to be my go-to. Yeah they aren't quite as nice, but even if the engine fails, the savings are still worth it.
how can a twin turbo v6 NOT blow you away? ford's is fantastic even in the trucks and cars. my 2010 MKS reaches 60 in under 6 seconds....at over 4,000 pounds!
The new intro sounds a bit flatulent. I liked the old one but trying new things is always good. The outro looks cool but doesn't have that Shooting Cars flair. This looks like a compelling vehicle and I'd go with a Genesis before anything German. I'd rather have the standard roofline, and also a coupe should have two doors. This looks like a nice cruiser.
Over-priced. Until this SUV was released, Genesis was considered the luxury brand of value. Other than design (which is refreshing), I'd prefer driving a comparable BMW or Mercedes.
I miss the 8-bit intro music from last year, but I am excited for what cool reviews this new year will bring!

The hyundai genesis coupe was a coupe. This is a 5 door raised wagon crossover
Genesis cars look much better than the rival German SUVs. No fake exhaust, no giant fake grills
Coincidentally, Genesis poached its designers from the Germans before the Germans got into their current bloated era.
Those little slots below the front grille look like there was supposed to be a big trim piece and it fell off lol.

I didn't notice the new thumbnail design, it wasn't showing for me.
@@nathanjoseph4284 UA-cam allows you to upload up to 3 thumbnails per video, so there's a chance you didn't see it.
