Keep up the great content! I purchased an S2000 a couple weekends ago and am glad that I stumbled onto your channel. I guess you could say I came for the S2000 videos, I stayed for everything else. I'm located in Long Beach and have been planning a Willow Springs track day for the end of the month/beginning of October so I can sent a benchmark time and then continue working to improve it, similar to what I see you doing. I love watching your videos, keep up the good work and I hope to see you at the track or on the road one of these days!
So looking at buying a MT 07 328i sent me down this rabbit hole and I have a question. To be clear, I can just buy a rear end from the auto 328/330, install an lsd into it and it'll bolt right up? do I need to do anything to make the driveshaft bolt up to the auto pumpkin?
I'm thinking of doing this to my 06 E90. Is there a reason for going with a wavetrack over a MFactory? Also, does switching rear end ratios throw off your speedometer? Keep up the dope videos.
Nope the speedo uses wheel speed sensors. Wavetrac is local to me and comes with a lifetime warranty. I am going to abuse this diff quite a bit . One advantage of the wavetrac is it is supposed to work in a no-load scenario whereas a normal torsen (like the diff on my S2000) will act like an open diff if I lift a wheel at the track.
If it was me I wouldn’t go with a ratio higher in number than a 3.46 due to the 5 speed. On my 1uz E87 I have gone with a 3.73 ratio diff with a 6 speed 😎
@1:55 He says everything is so smooth except him passing a squad suv at that moment. Lol
The driving footage looks amazing why don't you do more
what about with an atuomatic trans/

I put this exact same diff in my 99 Z3. It's a 5spd though, luckily not my daily because it pushing 3800 rpms at 75mph.
Hey! This video is taken right down the street from me, I also drive a e90! It'd be dope to cruise through Santiago man!
Sounds good, I drive up there a lot. Easiest way to contact me is to just add me on facebook. Enjoy the e90!
Fantastic car review 🚀🚀
Petroleum Engineer here, trying to make money during my last year of college so I can really relate to this lol
2:48 ''It's a very low HP car''
The car: 3,000 cc 258 hp engine...
That is so american to say that
Zent how much fuel drink 330 in normal city drive?
Manual I get a really good mileage if I don’t speed
Nice review! Been thinking about a direct swap for a 3.38
d from the 2.93 on the e46 330. Been wanting a lsd but it's kinda pricey
Yes the LSD is pricey for sure. I just put it in so I could do burnouts (video soon) and drift the car.
looking forward to see this car going to race track or drift track.
Looks like october 6th. I was planning to go to buttonwillow on friday but it's going to be too hot.
You look like Cleetus :D
So the 60-100 was identical. But do you think it will help with accelerating out of a turn on track?

you also had a full tank of gas with the 3.64 on that 60-100

ZentRose Gotcha. You're pretty local, dude. Have you thought about doing autocross at California Speedway?
Did you have to measure the backlash when installing the LSD?
Yes I measured it but did not need to make changes to the shims.
Zent, whats your opinion on Subaru WRX / WRX STIs?
I like the newest WRX the best. I have driven the previous gens and was not super satisfied with them.
What axles do you run with the 3.64? Auto 330i or manual 330i?
Manual. Axles stay in place when you do the swap
did you need to re-calibrate the speedometer?
Shouldn't need to most speed sensors are at the transmission, or at the wheels (wheel speed sensors).
@@bigdfitness5020 on the wheels, so no need for trickery
Do they make front diffs compatible with this set up? I have a 328xi.
Yes if you have a 328xi MT you can swap to the 328xi AT front and rear diffs. That would change ratios from 3.38 to 3.91.
That looks like Jamboree. ........Drive it every day.
Yes you are correct.
Do you think going from a 3.15 to 3.64 diff in a 5mt e46 would be too big of a leap for a daily driver?
Yes, i have a 3.46 in my E46 and it is very tall.
Yep what Dylan said. I did a 3.46 swap in my E46 5mt and the cruising RPM was pretty high on the freeway.
If it was me I wouldn’t go with a ratio higher in number than a 3.46 due to the 5 speed. On my 1uz E87 I have gone with a 3.73 ratio diff with a 6 speed 😎
Where do you a shorter rear end for 100$?
eBay
Let me know if you want to sell your wave track dif
Did you pay the person to run that light?
lol nope
Was this car a money pit to you?
Not at all. This was a great daily.
Drift video soon ??
Or track
I was supposed to track it on friday but it's looking a little too hot. I have a drift event on october 6th.
What is the cheapest way to adjust the speedo to the gearing on these cars?
The speedometer goes off the wheel speed sensor so no need to adjust it.
