    I just started my TRT a couple days ago! I had blood drawn when I 1st suspected that I had low testosterone and it was staggering! I was at 132! 🤯🤯 When I tell yall all I wanted to do was curl up in a corner of the house and sleep! That’s all I could view myself doing! The thought of having to go out in the world made me soooo tired and exhausted! Definitely unmotivated! I can already feel a difference and it’s only day 3!

    I’m 26 and ever since I was 22 I have felt completely fatigued, brain fogged beyond ability to function, and zero strength/confidence in my ability to face the world. A year ago my testosterone was 285 in my blood work. After that doctor appointment I got serious about working out and getting in better shape. I lost 45 pounds and got in better shape, but I still was fatigued and still couldn’t keep up hanging out with people my age, so I’ve let myself go again out of feeling defeated (dumb I know). Now I’ve got a work order for blood work a year later, but I got covid this week and now I’m even more foggy/fatigued than usual. I feel so powerless and pathetic. I’m scared of taking anything, but I think trt could help me. I visited a minute clinic today (Saturday) and the doctor there said I should probably wait til I recover more from my covid before doing the blood work to make sure it’s accurate. We’ll see what happens. I’m not suicidal, but if I’m constantly fogged/fatigued/weak willed and unable to face the world, then what’s the point of it all? I work a physically active job outside and idk how I’m gonna be able to do it with this lingering covid fatigue.

      Dude I am in the exact same boat. It’s honestly very relieving to see this comment. Currently, I’m 26 years old, and as far as I can tell, for my entire adult life I’ve felt fatigued, fogged, and overall had low energy and a very low libido. I got blood work done 3 weeks ago in mid December, and my total testosterone was 246 ug/dL. My doctor was concerned that it may have been a fluke so I went in again today to re-test. I’m hoping to have a conversation with him on Wednesday about this and hopefully talk openly about TRT. I’ve also been sick with influenza A for the past 2 weeks while also being temporarily laid off, so I feel your pain 100%. I promise to stay strong and move forward and I hope you do the same.

    In 2017 I had 2 readings. February the level was 6 and then in June the level was 3 - waited 8mths to see Endo Specialist and checked pituary gland as well. Given the GEL. Used for 12mths. Got level upto 12 twice and GP refused to continue treatment. Now just get the fact that I am over 50 it goes with age. Just done private tests and back to 2017 levels so will start the argument again. My issue is Libido (none) and Fatigue. This was the best all round discussion I have seen. Ian UK

    I had stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 25, I’m 33 now. I work an outdoor active job and eat fairly healthy the vast majority of the time. My energy levels are ALWAYS low, libido is almost non existent (I won’t turn it down,but I don’t feel the drive to initiate), brain fog, lack of ambition. All of those started occurring after chemotherapy for 6 months. My T levels came up 293 and they stated these were normal (ranging 170-780 “normal” scale). I know how I felt before cancer/chemo and how I’ve felt after and it has never been the same.

    • @kmart1303
      @kmart1303 4 місяці тому

      170-780 is NOT normal. Normal is more like 300-1000. At 33, you should be 350+ at minimum. I was at 360 and started 4 weeks ago. Night and day difference. Also 33. I used an online clinic to get my initial script, but will be continuing with UGL because it's so much cheaper. The doctors factor in guys who are in their 80s in the averages so their numbers are off.

    • @kenofken9458
      @kenofken9458 4 місяці тому

      I'd look into the T and it might help, but there is likely a lot more going on where post-chemo fatigue is concerned. There can be anemia or other blood cell disorders, chemotherapy damage to other organs or parts of the endocrine system.
      In addition to T replacement, find someone who can help with a holistic program of diet and supplements, maybe things like Q-10 etc.

    I started talking to my General Physician about my low T symptoms about 5 years ago. My GP is refusing to treat my low T because she claims that tests prove that it is bad for the heart. I made her test my heart and it is in amazing shape. She still refuses my request for a trial run. My T results are low, but not out of range, so she will not prescribe TRT. I am absolutely done with my reduced quality of life and have just started looking for TRT on the "black market." I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. I learned a lot, thank you.

He said before trying trt I needed to figure out why my TSH was so high by a GP.. is this doctor doing right or giving me a runaround when I first went in he said there was no way I'd have low testosterone but then I do.

    Thanks for this good video. I don't understand the units that he is expressing with regard to the testosterone levels being six or eight or ten. I had my testosterone checked and they said the normal range for my age, 62, is 229 to 902 and that my level is 150 which is low. These units are ng/dl. I have been prescribed trt in gel form by my doctor. Does anyone know what this doctor is talking about with levels of single digits and that a ten for example warrants trt?

    My test is 7.60nmol and my free-test is 0.167 - I've been hypogonadal for the better part of a decade but refused treatment via the NHS as they wanted to put me on Nebido with a crazy low dosage protocol. I worked hard for 10 years to increase my test naturally and I adapted my life to suit; I train 3-4 times a week, 240lbs and muscular and hold down a successful finance job. Despite this, I'm now pushing 40 and my levels are dropping, I don't want to get to 50 and feel like I missed out on the best years of my life because I made do with what I had. I'm jumping on 100mg a week with HCG as I still maybe want kids in a few years. This video was extremely helpful in confirming I was making the correct choice. Thankyou very much.

During my whole routine, I will throw in a couple of heavy sets, Some sets back to back with very little rest pause, and then some drop sets. But when I lift heavier, I do rest longer up to 6 minutes rest. And I eat about a pound of red meat or more a day sometimes. I really do listen to my body though as to what I need. You can ALWAYS find a doctor willing to do TRT, or for that matter damn near anything else. You just have to look in the right places.
      Here's the thing people fail to appreciate about doctors: They are some of the most entrepreneurial people on the planet. Yeah, they're good scientists, many of them and they want to help people and all that, but they like to make money. Lots of effin money!
      TRT, like medical marijuana, off label weight loss drugs, low dose naltrexone or anything else regular doctors shy away from....other doctors build practices all around offering them because there's a lot of money to be made. When I had a medical cannabis card years ago before it was legal all over, I went to a doctor who made quite a sideline out of it. He looked and sounded like Dr. Nick from the Simpsons.
      He supposedly had a regular practice during the week but on Saturdays he'd see people who wanted marijuana cards. His waiting room would be full of hippies and he'd get $300 for the consultation, which was maybe 10, 15 minutes. He was a nice guy and would offer you medical advice if you wanted, but mostly he was there to sign the paperwork the state wanted to give you the card. Dude probably paid his office rent with just one Saturday's take each month.
      TRT is the same. There's clinics all over the place.

    I was prescribed the gel recently, and before starting I wanted to do some research. Seems there are varying opinions on TRT and it's made me a little hesitant to hop on board.
    I've resolved to putting in real effort to fix my diet, build a solid sleep schedule, and get back in the gym to reduce weight and pump some iron to hopefully negate some factors that may have been reducing my natural testosterone and see where I end up.
    I started being symptomatic during lockdowns where I wasn't going out and exercising pretty much at all. Is this a solid course of action? Not taking TRT off the table, just saving it for a last resort.

      Most regular family/internal medicine doctors are still pretty wary of TRT. Some because they still believe out of date information on it, many others because they just don't know enough to prescribe or manage patients on it. There are exceptions. I had a wonderful young doctor some years ago I convinced to get me on T. I paid a TRT specialist doc to conference with us to get the program started.
      She's no longer my doctor, but once you get established on it and have a record of no problems with it, many regular docs will re-up your scripts for you so long as they get a look at your blood numbers at least once a year. Not just T but liver and kidney panels, cholestrol and the like.
      But you made the right move going to a practice that either specializes or routinely offers TRT.

    Hello, I’m starting injectable TRT in a couple of days and need some help understanding this.
    I’m in Canada, so metric units.
    I’m 55 years old, starting Delatestryl 200mg/mL inject 0.25mL once a week to start.
    I have absolutely no libido which seems to have started last year after I had a stroke. They also found that my heart is only beating at 35%, and my doctor tells me my bloodwork shows I am in midst of heart failure? Crazy.
    Anyway, he’s concerned about my high level of Hb hemoglobin (red blood cells) in which my level is 185 and the range is 135-175. He tells me that this indicates blood being thick which is what happens being on T therapy. I’ve been using Testim 1% gel for about 6-months and I’ve found it useless. Each tube is 50mg/5g tube and apply one tube per day.
    Testostérone level is 7.8 and the range is 8.4-28.8
    NT-PRO BNP = 521ng/L (whatever this is is what’s showing heart failure)
    I’ve been using Testim gel regular for about 6-months and it did nothing to raise my T level and have no libido at all which is why we’re now trying injectable IM.
    I’m wondering what you think of all this?
    Is 0.25mL injection enough to help with libido?
    Is this enough to help with workouts at the gym (starting also next week as part of stroke physio).
    What would you think would be an acceptable level for me to strive for so in so far as to inject weekly keeping in mind what I’ve mentioned about myself? I hope to stick to the gym regular as I once did but not for a long time now. I’m wanting enough to be helping me out on muscle mass also and don’t think that 0.25ml injection once a week would be enough?

      You might want to look into it. Get the blood work and see where it puts you.

    I have hypothyroidism since birth, I am 27 male. I've felt off since 25 and only getting worse. My total T is 16 to 21 nmol/L each time I tested over the years. Thise numbers are considered normal but on the lower end. I can't hold muscle like I use to, i feel like my strength and energy is zapped from me. I lack motivation, I feel good after gym session then feel mediocre again a few hours later. I'm very convinced my test is off. As I eat very healthy. But my doctor won't test anything more then total, no SHBG, no free test.

      @MarylandGuy-ey3st 8 months later. I was put on HCG since my free test was that of an old man. Didn't feel any difference for 2 months then started feeling great. For 3 months I felt amazing. Then started having blood pressure issues and high heart rate. Lowered my dose over the months but still had issues. Long story short a few days ago I colapped at an airport with my heart rate sitting at 140 for over an hour. I have since stopped cold turkey. The only thing that was off on my blood work was increased hemoglobin and red blood cell count. I am waiting to see a cardiologist. I believe I may need to donate blood to lower it. Terrifying is an understatement. It's extremely depressing to think the one thing that fixed all my problems may also be causing extreme health issues. And no I was not over dosing. My testosterone and estrogen were normally within range. While I was on my highest dosage. So who knows why it caused me heart issues. But for now I am left with low testosterone and now heart issues.

      1 ml of what? What's "enough" will depend on how your blood values respond and how you're feeling.

    Should a guy go to Urologist or Endocrinologist to get better testing and possibly TRT?

    • @kenofken9458
      @kenofken9458 4 місяці тому +1

      Maybe. Endocrinologist from what I've seen tend to be very conservative medically so they may not be the best bet.
      Urologists? Some are very knowledgable, some not. My doc sent me to one years ago to see about TRT when I was I think 40 or so. Well, I went there and I was the only guy under 80 in the waiting room! Guys who all had horror stories about urinary stones and blood in the urine and all that. When I got in to see the doc and explained why I was there, he said he didn't know anything about that. His whole practice was built on helping old guys to piss!

      I think the TRT therapy is good as long as addressing what's causing low testosterone, not just in men. Yes, the fact remains women must have some levels of testosterone in order for estradiol to work. The trend is getting worse because of diet that we been told to eat, all government putting in additives in our foods. The general public does not know most people men and women that need TRT treatment is at an all time high at 89% of the American population because there is untreated underlying health issues. The sad thing about it most of these people have higher LDL Cholesterol and impaired fasting glucose levels, I simply won't call it type of diabetes because it's not! The biggest things is giving someone a low dosage of a long acting insulin such as Lantus, over a short span of treatment say: within 1 month testosterone goes back up, LDL goes down with an increase of HDL,

      To high a dose can cause ED, you may need to scale back. One of the problems talking about TRT, is men in their 20's are taking it, up to men in their 70s. So the bodies ability to respond to a drug is unique for everyone. Generally though, if you are getting ED, you need to reduce the dose.

    I think a lot of it is due to the fact that it is equated to drug use like PED’s and a lot of doctors, just shy away from it like a lot of doctors shy away from treating anyone with true pain because of the opioid epidemic I believe that’s a big part of it, which is not a good thing for someone who really needs therapy

    ok, my doctor told me that my natural testosterone is 10 out of 32 nmol/l, which is normal low or like grey zone. which ranges in numbers of 288 out of 1000 ng/dL. He said that those numbers are of a 90 year old, yet I'm 40. He suggested that I go on TRT. My blood work came out and everything is excellent besides the low testosterone. I'm super scared to go on it! I don't know what to do. Also I started gym 4 months ago and i've seen gains and loss of fat, given that i never was really fat except some excess fat on belly and chest area. Also i do have sex drive but not what i used have in my early 20s. What do i do, does TRT shorten person life span?

    • @kenofken9458
      @kenofken9458 4 місяці тому +1

      It's nothing to be scared about. Can it have side effects? Sure, like any drug, but if used and monitored properly it has far more benefit than downside for most men who need it.
      On the other hand, don't feel pressured to do it. The decision of whether and how to treat should be based not just on numbers but symptoms and overall well being. If you're happy with how you feel don't worry about it. It's not like you're locked into a forever decision right away either. You might retest in a few months or a year, see what the numbers are and how you feel and go from there.
