- **Highlights of the Special Jaguar E-Type Workshop Day @mossjaguar :**
1. *Bare Metal Display of a Jaguar E-Type OTS No 47*
- Attendees had the unique opportunity to see the 47th left hand drive Jaguar E-Type roadster in its intermediate state, full body repair and finishing bare metal. This rare sight allowed for an in-depth appreciation of the car's original design and engineering.

- The event featured skilled craftsmen, including expert painters and coachbuilders. These artisans showcased their meticulous work, demonstrating techniques and processes involved in restoring and maintaining the Jaguar E-Type.

- A special thanks went to Paul Knott, who presented his rare and significant 5th FHC RHD (Fixed Head Coupe, Right Hand Drive) ever built. His presentation was a highlight, offering attendees a chance to see and learn about a truly historic vehicle.

Very nice to have an inside look at the Moss Jaguar workshop 👍 And interesting to see such an early car like the FHC RHD 005, always learning something new
Really enjoyed both my visits there and it was great to watch the video as I wasn't able to attend. I loved learning even more about Paul's very special E-Type which will be featured in my book to be published next year but meanwhile watch out for it in a future issue of either Jaguar World or Classic Jaguar as Sam Skelton joined me for a fun photo session with Paul!

I was born in 1965 and love everything still about the decade
From music, fashion, films, the counterculture and of course cars.
There were many cars that were so SEXY made in Europe back in the day but the top of my list is the Jaguar Eype. Hard top, convertible/ soft top

There is a film called Woman Of Straw released in early 1964 by MGM.

Within the first few minutes Sean drives up to the house in a Jaguar EType Red colour

@RichardMichaelOwen Thank for the nice and supporting comment. 🙏 047 is indeed one of a kind. Still so many wrong bits in the early production. Compare that with an October 61 body. All issues were improved and production became more efficient.

Totally agree what the man said on the engine all done, was to do the cylinder head the tappets and shims. The bottom half was fine he said it was fine and I totally agree. My dad would’ve said the same thing my father Fred gave me his series 1 4.2 Roadster thank you dad RIP thank you so much. Love you

The company was always Wakefield. They just changed the name to Castrol, their best known brand.

When you delve into originality as here then painting becomes problematic because e-types were not originally buffed really all new cars are not buffed even top end cars and with a trained eye you can see the difference from quite a distance and is done to remove cover up mistakes perfection/ originality is not buffing Mitch

Phew but too much info going on there guys..think one can get a bit carried away, it’s a restoration not a survivor.. I mean at about 6.20 what’s all that about cutting out a hole then welding it back in, like the factory did? It’s not factory is it, let alone the fact it’s covered with a trim..
No knocking the workmanship it’s top class .. 👍
Valid input, you can always argue where to stop. It is a choice Angus Moss has taken and one day it might become important. We all know that Jaguar was developing and changing the cars on the road. Nobody of us would really believe that the very first E Type was the final series model. Would have been surprising to find an early E Type in 100 years, exactly the same as a 62 car.
But if nobody keeps these cars as original as possible, even as a repair, we will end up with one and the same model as per the end of series. I would not like that idea. So everyone to his liking. But keep in mind the difference in labour and cost.
@@JaguarEType fair point my friend.. in terms of labour and cost, we both know should you commission an establishment like ‘moss’ to carry out a restoration of this calibre you would comfortably be a country mile past the current values of the car, even that of an OBL..
Clearly thats not the objective for them.
