Yeahhhh, ditto. Love your joyful positivity. You are consistently relevant, entertaining as heck, and super informative --- congrats on your staying power all this time, Nappy Fu. Keep it up, sis.
I'm telling you, once I started doing wash n go's like 3 months ago, I NEVER went back to wearing twists, twist outs, braids, etc. My scalp legit hated the protective styles once I did it. Wash and go's saved my hair from dryness as I can get in the shower without having to protect it from getting wet ruining my twist outs. I can refresh it every 3-4 days now and its been an amazing experience!
@@lilyankay2116 Well my hair is shorter like under 10" so pineapples don't work as it leaves it too stiff and I don't want to overmanipulate in mornings so I just put on a bonnet for sleeping and just fluff it out so it wont be flat. Wash and go's don't cause breakage, but its best to maintain healthy habits such as proper trimming every 3-4 months to maintain the ease of styling. TURST ME, this is important because going 6 months to a year without trimming, I had to cut off so much hair as it was growing so well. To keep it moisturized, daily or every other day, I would refresh with steam from shower or spray bottle with hair oil to seal it in. My hair never been so simple to deal with since starting this.
@@olabisiariyo8015 No problem! Yes my hair is 4c and I'm FINALLY able to say I love what my hair can do. To prevent hair knotting you have to practice preventative measures by means of keeping hair stretched or refreshed every few days (3-4 days for me and sometimes a week) when hair gets dry or not looking as fresh as you'd like for styling purposes. Also regular trims will keep it healthy and it doesn't have to be even .5" trims either as its only maintenance. Do this quarterly and you won't experience much of any issues.
I’ve been doing wash a gos since my big chop (3 years ago) and my routine has shifted many times but now I’m at a place that I’m happy with it, they lasts a full 7 days. So my 2 cents (or things I wish I’d known on day 1 that would have save me months of being trapped on the struggle bus)… 1. Hydration and technique are key. 2. Staying on a 5-7 day routine of cleanse, condition and styling are keys to hydrated hair (and hydrating products). This gives me predictable hair with longevity every time. 3. I don touch it when it’s wet. So when I get out of the shower or if it gets wets or moist from outside I don’t touch until it drys it because that will cause it to frizz. 4. I only sit under a hair dryer for 30 minutes to dryer just the outer hair to set it but then I the diffuse gently without moving the hair too much with my Dyson for about 15 minutes to get the roots dry. This method shortened my dying time a lot, so now from beginning to end my wash day is about 2 and a half hours including drying. My wash day started off at 5 hours, then my stylist told me my hair was healthy and didn’t need to deep condition so I omitted it and that dropped it to 3 -4 hours, then I stayed on a routine and detangling became a bit easier. I’m aiming for 1 hr wash day, but I love the simplicity of natural hair and this style. Last nugget that is a game changer, I get maintenance trims every 3 months. I was unsure at first b/c I though I would be losing all my length but it has helped me retain length (hard to see b/c shrinkage is disrespectful, lol) but it keeps the ends an the style clean and lessens single stand knots. I get maybe 1 (if any) knots on wash day at the most. Before this routine I had 2 to 5 on a wash day. BTW, Your hair came out amazing, it is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I can’t wait to see how your style evolves as it grows out.
@@gloriaxx I sleep on a satin pillow. I don’t put anything on my head, I’m too hot and I’m miserable with bonnets on. I have occasionally worn a Buff but I wake us with wet hair from sweat. It will be very flat and a little damp from night sweating (satin and silk, will cause add heat in my head) , I let it dry and I don’t touch my hair until It drys.. using about 10 minutes and the I shake my head and fluff as needed. That my morning routine, lol
A suggestion and a game changer for me. You said your scalp was fine but your hair felt dehydrated. You could have rehydrated without washing. Your direct leave in is still all over your hair. Next time, put a little warm water and a couple drops of your direct leave in a spray bottle and shake it. Spray your hair and reshake it or use your hands to massage it throughout your hair. The warmth opens your cuticles and allows your hair to absorb the water. You can get 1-3 more days of wear and choose a more convenient wash day without risking the health of your hair.
I guess it all depends on your hair and activities. I only reset my hair by rewashing it and I'm okay with that. Longer than 3-4 days without washing especially with working out everyday would be a mess. Right now I'm short so my curls don't necessarily last beyond 4 days but as my hair grows out more, I'll go 7 days but no longer than that. The longer I go, the longer it takes to detangle next wash day but then again I prescribe to Black Girls Curls so its all about consistency. NappyFu you did an amazing job BTW, hair looks ahh-mazing!!!
Agreed! Personally I wash once a week. Any longer than 5-7 days is too long for my kinks or scalp. I did enjoy being able to wash my hair every other day when it was short because the dry-time was shorter as well. If you have psoriasis like me, sweat a lot, or you’re heavy-handed with products you will need to wash more often. To me there’s nothing more luxurious and relaxing than washing your hair in a warm shower. Just remember the more often you wash, the more you disrupt your scalp’s natural oils and moisture. Everyone has to find what works for them. Too much washing can be just as damaging as too little washing.
I’m writing this to request that you always continue to do some natural hair content. I see a lot of old-school natural hair UA-camrs, especially if they have 4c hair, are getting out of the game. It’s very important for younger women and men who are deciding to wear their hair natural that they have positive mentors to look to. Even if you decide to decrease the amount of natural hair contact that you do, always make sure that you continue to do some natural hair content. You are a mentor for many natural hair women especially with 4c hair. Your content is great
Thank you so much. I will continue to produce natural hair content. It’s my favorite content to create so it’s not going anywhere. I’m just adding more layers to my channel of other content I love to create. Thanks for your input hun and support 🥰
Before I left NYC, I went to Hair Rules Salon, Dickey's salon. As one commenter said and I liked her comment, I don't consider this a wash and go either since you must sit under dryer. Id call it a wash and set, lol or sit... For hours lol - for me anyway. I had thick hair then. Anywho, for many of us 4C people, let go of the dream of not wetting your hair every 3-4 days. It is life. Accept it. That was my first lesson Dickey taught me. He just doesn't style you he teaches you how to take care of your specific hair that he is touching and playing with. But per these comments and my experience that is a common thread and we need to embrace it. Listen y'all we could be type 1 and have to wash every day or so. Okay. Don't be lazy, don't complain. One suggestion though is the pineappling with a silk scarf under bonnet to lightly tie it up. And my shrinkage was helluva too so I'd have to use band in layers around my head at roots if I wanted to keep it stretched when I pushed each section into the pineapple position. But Babee, in the morning my wash and set was a little more stretched and not so smushed in the back. My hair grew the fastest and was the healthiest during the years with Dickey. And his products worked for me too. I was successful with other products as well. Giovanni 4 Life btw.
I’ve been thinking about going to Dickey one day myself, but I did think you still sat under a dryer in his salon. You don’t sit under a dryer at Hair Rules?
Those coils!!!! I am not 4c, but you have helped me so much in my own natural hair journey. You are glowing queen. That cut frames your face beautifully. Thank you for your content.
It’s the S curls for me. So pretty with that hair texture.😍 Honestly it’s the setting/styling that takes the most time. Detangling thoroughly is definitely one of the key . Just keep practicing to perfect your technique.
I've been doing wash n gos exclusively since early March after following black girl curls. I mostly use UFD as my base and innersense I create hold as my topper gel or mousse def for a fluffier look. I rarely use leave in unless it's the kinky curly leave in and gel combo. I band my hair with satin scrunchies at night. I don't have to refresh between washes (every 7 days) because I trap water in that UFD like a champ. I hate sitting under the dryer, but I do it. I get consistent results every wash day. Before that I was a lost cause jumping on every bandwagon. I finally found something that works after 10 years being natural.
Your hair came out GORGEOUS! Might I suggest when you go to bed, just stretch your hair with the banding method using hair ties. You don't want your hair to tangle upon each other. Plus it helps to preserve the style. Wishing you the absolute best for your next wash n go! Be Love, Be Blessed and Pass it On! 🥰😍🤗❤️
...mid week in the shower is to wet hair, co-wash w/ conditioner, then my choice of gel w/ oil, curling cream w/oil, buttercream w/ oil. My hair loves this! I can't do "shake and bake". It makes me dizzy and l lose my balance. I'm happy with "finger or brush rake and bake". Things to do for the drying hour? Read a book, knit, write a letter (yes using a pen and pretty stationery-a lost art), go through your mail, or just enjoy! This is self care time for you! Thanks for encouraging words!
I have been watching you for YEARS and I know that you’ve thought for so long that you couldn’t do a wash and go. You DID THAT, Nappy Fu. Miss Contour said she is not here to play.
So beautiful! And I loved your energy about the entire experience. I almost exclusively do wash-n-go year-round (i.e. 9.5 times out of 10). I always shampoo, deep condition with heat, thoroughly detangle and air dry. Each style lasts 5-7 days depending on how much I workout. I recently discovered Mousse Def and am here for it (along with Uncle Funky's gel). I agree that having a good wash day is the foundation for a good wash-n-go. Also, doing it more often helps to "train" your hair.
First I want to say this is a bomb wash n go. The coils are beautiful! The Giovanni leave in is og but a good one. I’ve been doing wash n go non stop since last year. What I learned since then for go one that last I need a bit of cast. Otherwise when it’s too soft it will last for 2 to 3 days instead of 5. Next don’t touch when I dries because you will cause frizz. To preserve I use a bonnet or scarf (pineapple). Like you I might use a combination of a gel (if it’s light hold ) with a mousse.
@@Girlforaction I would say to get a good trim from time to time it’s important (keeping struggling ends is not worth it) and protein treatment when you need it (in my case I do once a month )
She cute cute😍 Love your results! Wash and go's are my go-to style! My wash days are now down to 3 hrs max when it used to be six. I no longer step outside the shower to deep condition. I let it stay in my hair just long enough to detangle. Throw a bonnet on at bedtime, and just shake and fluff in the morning. It's truly a low maintenance style.
I went to the Hairrules salon and after doing the wash and go, or “wash and set”, my hair had the same shrinkage. My stylist gently took sections of my hair and used the dryer on low heat against each section up and down to stretch out my hair. It looked AMAZING! Also, I did the shake and bake at home too, the headache IS REAL! 🤣🤣🤣
I love that more 4C youtubers are showcasing their defined 4c curls. I still remember the first time I firmly associated my hair type with 4c was when I saw Protective Princess's maximum hydration video and saw defined, tiny 4c coils for the first time. Most of my hair actually does coil like this, but the diameter is smaller than 4a curls and it takes A LOT, I mean nothing short of the great lengths you go through in this video, to see the curls. Honestly I'm fairly certain at this point that I have the whole spectrum of type 4 coil diameter throughout my hair, but it's always reassuring to see 4c youtubers I trust showcasing coils that look just like mine ❤
You are hands down one of the BEST at explaining wash and go's (really anything) Loved this one!💜 and your hair turned out so beautiful!!! By the way I think your cut sis did make your hair fall right into place.I love it!🔥🔥
Your hair turned out beautiful! I love it!!! 😍 The more washngos you do the more it gets easily defined with time. Not to walk with damp hair all day or sleep with wet hair all night is definitely much more comfortable. 😂 My number one tip to get a bomb definition is to use the clay mask mixed with apple cider vinegar after the shampoo, conditioning and detangling session because it won't disturb the natural hair pattern forming when you rinse it out. I've seen people leaving leave-ins aside and combining mousse with a gel, or a light weight moisturizing gel with a stronger hold one. It works great, I just tried it out yesterday. 😊
@@jladylove1 Exactly. I rinse out the clay very well and then proceed to styling. I unfortunately don’t have a hooded dryer yet but use a diffuser. You can use any clay you like, not more than once a week. Aztec bentonite clay, rhassoul or kaolin clay. But make sure to mix it with something acidic like apple cider vinegar and not water to have a low ph since this will also work like a second conditioning mask after you’ve detangled your hair.☺️
@@RabielleParfait Thank you so much I will be going to get me some clay today and try it out Wednesday. I don't want to wait til my Wash Day Saturday I'm excited to see what it will do for my fine 4 type hair. Again Thanks :)
Ms Rabielle, I was wonder about the option of adding an elongating gel with the mousse. Thanks for trying it 1st! I hate the smushyness of the night after wash'n'go so I stopped. Gonna try it that way.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about this video! Your excitement and your results was all that! I may try this as I have yet to achieve a successful wash n go and I have been natural 12 years! If I EVER find success in a wash n go....I will be squealing with excitement just like you were!
I love NappyFu, I tried a wash n go for the first time in ages last week. It was more like a 'shrink and stop.' I think I'm just used to twists, braids, and cornrows or the occasional twist-out into Afro a few days later. However, I gotta say that NappyFu may get me to try a wash 'n go, one mo' again! I'm a man with medium-length hair, so I don't feel the pressure my wonderful sistahs do to have an ongoing "look." But lemme tell ya bein' on dis natural hair journey these past 5 years has given me even more awe for all the amazement that Black Women are.
I am a newly reformed twist out-aholic! 😆 I'm under the hood dryer for my second wash n go. The last was looked amazing, but was as flaky as could be! Trying a different styler, and we'll see how it goes. Don't give up! I've found it worth the effort.
You have been the best part of my hair journey years later I could still come back to your channel for styling tips that I forgot about and your energy has not changed thank you for your content thank you for your personality you’re a greatly appreciate
AHHHHH!!!! I love it! I’ve been hoping you’d get into this wash n go! I’m type 4 and ever since I learned how to do a 2 product wash n go, I haven’t gone back! I air dry, and NO TOUCHING your curls while they dry (takes allllllllll day tho). MY HAIR GROWS SO MUCH NOW & It lasts 4 days.
It worked for me ,as a guy. I use ORS leave in conditioner and the ORS gel. Came out better than I expected since it's the first time I've done it. I just get my hair braided, I don't tend to have it out very long. Thanks for the tips 🇬🇧🇯🇲👊🏾
NappyFu, your hair cut really accentuates the wash and go. It has a nice shape and the coils are defined and the ends are not straggly. Like you, I have Type 4 hair: 4A and I typically do cream only wash and gos. I use a light leave in and a curling cream and seal with olive oil. My wash and gos last 2 weeks without refreshing. If I use a mousse my hair begins to dry out much sooner so I would need to redo the wash and go weekly. I just pop on a bonnet at nights and fluff and go in the mornings because my hair is medium length. Takes me less than 5 minutes to do that. With you working out like you do I can understand having to redo the wash and go by Day 5.
Same. I'm 4a too, and only use mousse in late spring to help with the frizzing...what do you use for the summer? This past summer was my first time being natural, and the humidity killed my hair 😔. Mousse didn't work, and I'm afraid to use gel on my hair. Was wearing a puff must weeks, but prefer my hair out.
@@apara2005 I only use creams all year round. I avoid mousse and gels because they are drying on my hair. With humidity, my hair just gets slightly frizzy but the definition remains intact until wash day.
@@miniminott48 thanks for the reply 🙏🏾. You are lucky. I lose all definition and my hair looks like a bird nest 🤣. It gets very humid where I live in the summer - like 90%+ the entire season -
Sometimes we have to learn to love and appreciate our hair before we’re ready to embrace all of our naturalness. Ladies. Stop saying you can’t wash n go when the rest of us know that’s a lie. You “can’t” because you simply don’t want to. And if you really don’t want to, then just honestly say it. 4c is limitless, regardless of whatever box you try to shove it in.
Thank you so much, Im a guy and i felt kinda limited with my hair options, (especially ones that i could do and change often) so I really appreciate this tutorial for (ACTUAL) 4c hair 😂😂
I found a gel by IC Fantasia that’s a clear coconut oil nourishing and moisturizing. I use Camille Roses honey leave in conditioner with it and EdgEffects edge control gel in the peach jar. My hair was so manageable that I took down my crochet base and completed mini braids with twists at the end. I added about eight shiny beads. When I brushed with my Denman brush, my hair was the softest and curliest it’s been without chemicals or locs in 53 years!!
I'm so glad I found you. I just tried a wash and go for my 4c "tryng" to use Anthony Dickey's method and I looked like Frederick Douglas. I tried twice, so I gave up. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. But now I know. That last most important step I didn't do!! I didn't dunk my head in the water that last time before shaking my head. I don't know if I didn't listen to him well but with your video, you explained the purpose of it and it clicked! 💡💡💡I will try again and I will be saving and watching more of your videos.
" I lived and I learned ." AMEN. Curls could be still looking good, but if the hair is dry we need to do what we have to do ... to keep the curls Healthy.
I cut my drying time down by wrapping a microfiber towel around my hair to absorb excess moisture. Wrap, blot dry(don't rub) and shake. Then I blow dry. Ten or less minutes.
i think that the more you do wng, the quicker it will get. girl Ive been natural for over 10 years and always reach a plateua with my hair and it always gets a ton of breakage beyond armpit length but this wng life that Im on now has my hair so much healthier. from one 4c natural to another, i am happy for you.
Nice result, I could see that you have naturally forming coils when you have the shampoo in it. The trick is defining it in the styling process and it came out bomb.
Okay! You look so beautiful with your coils!! I haven’t Done wash - go’s for a long time, but heres some of my tips: - ., To preserve the wash and go longer you can use satin scrunchies to keep the shape of your hair in place sectioning with those then put bonnet on. - too keep moisture: add water and oil or aloe vera for moisture in a spray bottle. Spray it before your day starts or before you walk out the door.
I saw your video by mistake since it's woman's channel n I'm not one ...like that u r celebrating our true natural hair ( 4C ) ...which over a billion of people have which makes Blacks/ African unique among other races...u doing a great job hopefully we have more channels like this .
I'm so glad you've caught up about WnGs! I remember your old video but held back commenting that it can work for 4C hair, but it needs the right approach, techniques and solid supporting information and WnG regimen . You look fabulous! Well done!
What a wonderful video. But For the life of me I can’t understand why we call this a wash and go? This takes HOURS. Wash in several steps and go sit under the dryer….. we have to come up with another term for this 😂😂😂your results are lovely and this is an awesome page.
This shows us how freeform locs form, our hair likes growing into little sections naturally, our hair like grouping themselves into little sections & grow together, yes you calling it a wash & go bt in reality it's not,it's a hairstyle that confirms how wonderful our hair is,u shaking your hair & make it show its magic shorter than it would naturally, we're learning everyday, when I first looked at your haistyle it looked like micro locs ,beautiful!!
I am speechless. I remember the days way back when, when Miss Contour did not play around with a wash-and-go. I adore the cut. I l love your vibe as always. I am forever grateful that you continue to educate yourself & share with your fellow kinks. I wish you continued prosperity, peace, & blessings.
Napchat answer: I have a lot of hair and I air dry to avoid heat. So, every night that I go to bed, I stretch my hair in at least 4 sections by braiding at the roots or banding with satin scrunchies so my roots don’t lock up as they dry. I put on my bonnet with the satin lining. It has a draw string to keep it snug on my head. It may get a little frizzy as days go by but I just wet my fingers and run my fingers down those strands of hair to reactivate the product. By day 4 or 5, I have big hair that still looks defined. I can probably stretch a wash and go to my next wash
omg the camille rose honey refresher spray is a God send! truly stretches all of my 4c styling. just spray, let it sit for about 5 minutes and then fluff hair.
Hi! I'm not a 4c girl, but I enjoyed watching your videos. Many of the things that you do to your hair helps mine too. Thanks and blessings to you and your loved ones. 💜👍💃
Gorgeous. Yes! The Antony Dickey method is the absolute BEST! I learned his technique and my 4c wash n go is sooooo gorgeous. Wait til that sun hits it BABY! Enjoy
Put a little delicate flower on the side and bam you got it. I truly love it. ❤❤❤. You are beautiful inside and out. You make me smile. God bless you always. Be happy❤❤❤😊😊
So I won't lie I just had a sip cuz it's been a rough day, and this video popped up in my recommended... I felt so happy because I haven't seen a NappyFu video in A LONG TIME! Sometimes UA-cam just knows that you need some good vibes when you not feeling 100%. Thanks NappyFu!!!
I love that you mastered the wash and go. It looks GOOD. For me, I would get the same look from twist out so maybe if you don’t want to rewash, you can resist and then reset with a twist out on the old hair
I love it! I haven’t had a successful wash and go with just mousse yet but I also didn’t try it with a leave in so I’ll have to try that next time! I’ve been using moisturizing or botanical gels mostly with a little leave in. I will say that the more leave in you use the longer it takes for your hair to dry so maybe try a little less leave in? Oh and let it sit in your hair under a plastic cap for a bit so it absorbs before putting the holding styler. I get better results if I use a mousse for a twist out. Or if I use the mousse as a leave in and put a gel on top. Kinda weird but 🤷🏾♀️. Anyway you’ve def inspired me to try the mousse def again with some leave in! I’ve heard using a leave in with the mousse won’t work as well but the proof is in the pudding! (Do people still say that? Also can you tell I watch Dr. Who? 😅😅)
This made me soo happy! I laughed soo hard! It's nothing like when what you've envisioned for your hair actually comes to pass!! Yess gurl! Your curls were popping!
Thanks for showing your technique and results. I like your term "shake & bake", it reminds me of my term for wash and gos that describes my technique - "shower, shake and go". I do just what you did but I air dry. Heat adds *extra* shrinkage to my hair so I don't use it. I checked with Dickey who says air dry is fine.
I love it...especially because you still used a prepoo, deep conditioner, and leave-in...nice! I have never done a wash n go on my hair. I have done it a couple of times on my daughter's...🤗 Feeling inspired!!!
I am loving this new cut on you and yes those curls were popping POPPIEN! I swear by the Anthony Dickie shake method it that is the only way that I do my wash and goals And have been doing it his way for years am I wash n go’s always come out well. Excellent video
Ms. Contour is really popping. And your energy I felt through the phone so much, I got teary eyed. Thanks much, gyalie❣ 😘❤ Oh & Ms. Contour is a #HairGoal for my hair I just named "Fronita" 🤭👏🏿👍🏿
Super cute. I diffuse for 15 minutes. 5 on high in the roots and 10 on medium. I don't have 4c (3c-4a) but my shrinkage is so much less. My hair shrinks simlar to yours. Maybe an alternative when you don't want to sit for 45 min. It is not completely dry but it is enough to stop the shrinkage. I also don't use a leave in conditioner (I know blasephmous) but that gave me a major hold. I put more into the deep condition.
The BEST wash and go tip I can give is this: STRETCH HER!! Banding before you go under the dryer, or banding at night, will allow you to decrease the potential of tangles, add product without disturbing the style, it will last longer, AND it’ll make the next wash day way easier as well!
I think your results were Great. For my wash n go, I use a generous amount of scurl no drip curl activator moisturizer right after I've already applied my curl pudding and shook my head. And once I shake it again I get under the dryer. The next day I don't touch my hair I just shake and use a steamer all over for ab 10 mins and shake some more and go. I steam my hair daily for about 5 mins. And I have type 4 hair as well.
So I definitely prefer air drying, but I just discovered a little hack for using a hooded dryer: put a scarf on while it’s still wet and dry for like an hour on medium-high heat. I kid you not, this leaves my hair as juicy and moisturized as if I had air dried all day. I use the hooded dryer attachment, and start by tying my hair down tightly, as if I’m trying to lay my edges or something, and only dry the top of my head, leaving my ends out. Then I’ll switch positions and tie the scarf from the back like a pineapple and dry everything, ends too, then I’ll tie my hair back again and dry it all the last 15 minutes or so. I’m mostly concerned about drying the roots, since that takes the longest time to dry. It comes out super well though, it keeps its definition really well
I smiled immediately when you came on the screen with your positive energy
Ikr! Nappy gives what she is supposed to gave.

Does it cause any breakage? How do you keep your wash and go moisturizer? How do you sleep with it Lol

How do you combat single strand knots?
@@olabisiariyo8015 No problem! Yes my hair is 4c and I'm FINALLY able to say I love what my hair can do. To prevent hair knotting you have to practice preventative measures by means of keeping hair stretched or refreshed every few days (3-4 days for me and sometimes a week) when hair gets dry or not looking as fresh as you'd like for styling purposes.
Yes!! EVERYTHING you shared was on point. No need to do the most. 🙌🏾
Thanks for taking the time to be share
How do you sleep in your wash and go’s to last the week. Do you twist them?
@@gloriaxx I sleep on a satin pillow. I don’t put anything on my head, I’m too hot and I’m miserable with bonnets on. I have occasionally worn a Buff but I wake us with wet hair from sweat. It will be very flat and a little damp from night sweating (satin and silk, will cause add heat in my head) , I let it dry and I don’t touch my hair until It drys.. using about 10 minutes and the I shake my head and fluff as needed. That my morning routine, lol
@@monicamitchell9312 thank you for your response. So you just sleep with it out , how do you deal with tangles when you wake up(if you do get them)?
If this isn't THE BEST hair care chanel on UA-cam, big up from the UK! 🇬🇧

I second that 👍🏽👍🏽
Before I left NYC, I went to Hair Rules Salon, Dickey's salon.
@@melstarr1864 Yes, you sit under the dryer and my hair was so thick it still took forever. 🙄😅😅😅
Those coils!!!! I am not 4c, but you have helped me so much in my own natural hair journey. You are glowing queen. That cut frames your face beautifully. Thank you for your content.
It’s the S curls for me. So pretty with that hair texture.😍
Honestly it’s the setting/styling that takes the most time. Detangling thoroughly is definitely one of the key .
Just keep practicing to perfect your technique.
Very nice video! The great thing about wash&go’s is that the more they’re done the better the technique and results are. Happy you loved your results!
What do you mean by you trap water?
@@honeymoney23 I mean using the gel to seal in the water. You do this on soaking wet hair with botanical gels.
😍😍😍 I just love your content & Contour looks goodt! Another informative video thank you 💕
Your hair came out GORGEOUS! Might I suggest when you go to bed, just stretch your hair with the banding method using hair ties. You don't want your hair to tangle upon each other. Plus it helps to preserve the style. Wishing you the absolute best for your next wash n go! Be Love, Be Blessed and Pass it On! 🥰😍🤗❤️
Thank you sis !! 🥰
...mid week in the shower is to wet hair, co-wash w/ conditioner, then my choice of gel w/ oil, curling cream w/oil, buttercream w/ oil.
I always love your passages in the beginning!
Me too!!!☺ I look forward to the scriptures at the beginning just as much as the vids.
I have been watching you for YEARS and I know that you’ve thought for so long that you couldn’t do a wash and go. You DID THAT, Nappy Fu. Miss Contour said she is not here to play.
Thank you hun!!!!
You’re the only true 4c hair on UA-cam
Awww thanks hun. But there are definitely others. I’m just one of the many. 🤎🤎
I'm glad you said air dry. I am going to try was and go but have only blow dryer.
How do you deal with potential split ends.
Also your hair on day 5 looks EXACTLY like my hair used to when it was short! So nostalgic to see 😍
You are hands down one of the BEST at explaining wash and go's (really anything) Loved this one!💜 and your hair turned out so beautiful!!! By the way I think your cut sis did make your hair fall right into place.I love it!🔥🔥
I agree, great technique but the cut is a big factor in outcome!
@Rabielle after you rinse out the clay do you then put styling products on and sit under dryer? Which clay you use?
Exciting!!😍😍
I love NappyFu, I tried a wash n go for the first time in ages last week. It was more like a 'shrink and stop.' I think I'm just used to twists, braids, and cornrows or the occasional twist-out into Afro a few days later. However, I gotta say that NappyFu may get me to try a wash 'n go, one mo' again! I'm a man with medium-length hair, so I don't feel the pressure my wonderful sistahs do to have an ongoing "look." But lemme tell ya bein' on dis natural hair journey these past 5 years has given me even more awe for all the amazement that Black Women are.
LOL. You got me with the shrink and stop I understand exactly how you feel.
@@Wildflowers2022 Okurrrr! Thank you! 2 hours into the "Shrink and Stop" I beez like iss time for a hat!
Oh wow! Your hair turned out soo gorgeous and your makeup is pretty too!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️
The joy you exuded in this video truly made me smile.
The joy on your face was everything, and the coils are truly poppin! Thanks for another thorough video.🙌
It worked for me ,as a guy. I use ORS leave in conditioner and the ORS gel. Came out better than I expected since it's the first time I've done it. I just get my hair braided, I don't tend to have it out very long.
Thanks for the tips 🇬🇧🇯🇲👊🏾
Thanks for sharing!! My pleasure!
It gets very humid where I live in the summer - like 90%+ the entire season -
@@apara2005 What's your hair porosity?
@@miniminott48 It low, but my hair really sucked in the humidity. I wish it sucked in product the same 🤣🤣.
Yes limitless indeed!!!
I love a defined 4c wash and go thank you nappyfu you better walk!
Your joy is so contagious!!
Shake n bake saves so much time! Especially for us type 4 ladies. Love the Dickie method 🙂
Girl you are glowing 🙌🌟 won't He do it!
Oh yes He will 😂🙏🏾!
You know when you start dancing around, you’re really loving the results. I am here for all of this wash n go joy 😊
Nice result, I could see that you have naturally forming coils when you have the shampoo in it. The trick is defining it in the styling process and it came out bomb.
‘Don’t know where the energy came from’ 😅 been there before 🤣. Also I love how you open up in scripture, Very encouraging
Wow the definition sis!! Ok Ms. Contour
The Doux is the BEST!! It definitely gave me my best wash and go!!
Okay! You look so beautiful with your coils!! I haven’t Done wash - go’s for a long time, but heres some of my tips:
- ., To preserve the wash and go longer you can use satin scrunchies to keep the shape of your hair in place sectioning with those then put bonnet on.
- too keep moisture: add water and oil or aloe vera for moisture in a spray bottle. Spray it before your day starts or before you walk out the door.

What a wonderful video. But For the life of me I can’t understand why we call this a wash and go? This takes HOURS. Wash in several steps and go sit under the dryer….. we have to come up with another term for this 😂😂😂your results are lovely and this is an awesome page.
i agree girl esp as someone who w&g are my go to 😂😂😭 more like wash and endure
I couldn’t stop watching this! It’s was as informative as it was entertaining! You are hilarious and good at breaking things down.
My pleasure sis. Thank you for watching!!
Love everything about you! Definition on 1000!

I love that you mastered the wash and go. It looks GOOD. For me, I would get the same look from twist out so maybe if you don’t want to rewash, you can resist and then reset with a twist out on the old hair
Great video boo! Loved the definition and volume! I find adding water before and after my leave in gives me a longer wash n go
Don't risk the health of your hair for a style. Wow, I felt that. Been there, done that. Taking these wise words to heart!!
Who? 😅😅)
I came for the wash n go and stayed cause of that verse! Your wash n go looks beautiful!!! The 30 day detox has been a game changer! 😍
Do it!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 thanks for watching
It looks beautiful! Your hair is so healthy from that trim.
Your excitement brought me so much joy! And the hair, like always, is 🔥

Great results! I remember years ago when you didn’t like the wash n go. Glad you are able to do them successfully now.
Me too!! Lol thank you!!!
I am loving this new cut on you and yes those curls were popping POPPIEN! I swear by the Anthony Dickie shake method it that is the only way that I do my wash and goals And have been doing it his way for years am I wash n go’s always come out well. Excellent video

Hahah the way I screamed when I thiinking of only she could do a close up and then you did it 😂😍😍
Lol I got you sis!! 🥰
It’s the energy for me!
I loved the results. I’m the same. I reset/wash/cowash every 3-5 days. I’m definitely not chasing a curls but I like my hair to stay hydrated.
Yessss!!! Yes it was worth it! You look so pretty. I love your hair. And I like that style on you. 🦋
First here, your excitement is contagious 💕💕
I will definitely try this method when I get my braids down
We have the same hair texture
So I definitely prefer air drying, but I just discovered a little hack for using a hooded dryer:
put a scarf on while it’s still wet and dry for like an hour on medium-high heat.
It comes out super well though, it keeps its definition really well
Gworllllll!!! You did it. Did that. It’s beautiful. Hair was swanging and hanging in the shower. I love it!
Thank you hun
I don't do wash and go's but I might try your method. Thanks for sharing
So glad this worked for you!! Dickey method saved my life....no other way to do a wash and go!
