For real. My parents, I think, are upper middle class but they were very frugal with their money. I still got a job and paid for many things I wanted/needed myself. If they knew I could afford to buy it, then they Would tell me to pay for the thing myself. My parents, while they could have afforded to buy expensive, superfluous things like designer clothes and such, didn't do that because they didn't need it. But to them buying me a laptop is something they see as me needing for college. A laptop is also something they know I cannot afford myself. So they'd rather spend money on thing a they need/know I need rather than spend it on expensive random crap. (I guess this is also a way of rewarding me for doing well all 4 years of Highschool)

UnderMoons π I decided to go with the MacBook Pro 16 base model because I have a early 2015 MacBook Air with 4gb of ram and it’s super slow and I love big screens and I didn’t wanna wait for the custom 13 and I edit videos and stuff like in the video with Final Cut Pro so I also wanted the graphics card😁 hope that helps! My sister already has the one that’s coming tmr and I’m in love!

Lol, “a whole two days”. Lucky! Mine won’t get here for a month! Thanks COVID 19! I got mine from Apple with the discount, which included a pair of AirPod Pros, and I wanted to upgrade the memory. Apple had exactly what I wanted, but yes, the wait is loooong. I’m being patient because I plan on using this MacBook Pro for many years, so what’s another month? Easier said than done though. I’m going crazy waiting!

hey lauryn! I have a few questions since it’ll be my first time buying a macbook. What adapter do you recommend from amazon? Also when ordering your macbook did you include it with the protection plan and the webroot antivirus?
As someone who works for apple I would not recommend getting an antivirus especially not webroot cause I always see it causing more issues than it does any good. Plus malware and viruses are very rare on macs in general. If you’re looking for something to scan your Mac for issues I would just download malwarebytes for free!

When I told my mother she freaked out after she saw the price but than I gave her all my money that I saved up and she helped me pay it and she was okay with it. Maybe save a little money and ask if they could help you pay a little bit 💕💕

every single unboxing vid ive seen there's always a disclaimer about the fact that they saved and it wouldn't be possible without their youtube channel and it's such a lovely sentiment, but i don't think there's anything wrong with people being gifted such things. my family is just comfortable and my parents have decided to buy me one for graduation. with the right attitude and gratitude it is still okay if you were gifted yours!
