After saving for 4 years I finally managed to get my first MacBook Pro. I decided to drop extra money 💴 to get the 2019 Apple MacBook Pro (16-Inch, 16GB RAM, 1TB Storage, 2.3GHz Intel Core i9) in Space Gray. I’m super excited to put this laptop to use for work. 😄

2cool 2jool I’ve had to work with a 10 year old HP pavilion 💻 laptop that has seen better days. I’ve never owned a MacBook. I’ve always told myself year after year that I’ll get one someday. So I saved money every time I had money to spare. I did my research on getting the best price for my MacBook. I found one on Amazon and got it at Best Buy since they do price matching. I saved 500$ from the initial price so that was good. You may say that I’ve bought an overkill machine. To me it was a personal goal of mine I never thought I’d achieve. With that I’m happy and I can finally say that I’m a proud owner of a MacBook.

I'm considering getting a new laptop and switching to macbooks for college. This video was helpful and honestly I was thinking of getting a macbook pro but the air seems pretty efficient for schoolwork as well. Thank you for this video

First of all, I was to say you’re gorgeous!! & this video was so helpful, thank you:) I’ve used a chrome book for my first year of college, but saw everyone have Mac books and I felt like a loser lol. I’m considering purchasing this one, would you recommend this one for school? Also, do you think I should upgrade anything or do you think I’ll be good? It depends what your going to school for.
If your just taking notes, simple web browsing, and light photo/ video editing then yes. Although I recommend getting an i5 for any kind of editing, especially since its only $100 more. Since the cooling in the MacBook air is not all that great, you may want a MacBook pro or maybe some sort of windows laptop for more demanding apps and software, such as video editing. If you do decide on windows I would recommend a surface laptop 3 which you can get for about the same price while keeping a premium feel.

I didn’t save up for mine. My parents bought it. I am not spoiled they bought it because I was having a lot of issue with the school iPad to do my online work and everyone in my class complained my work deleted when I did it and the iPad always froze
I work at Walmart 😫 so it took me 3 paychecks for mine(one month and a half) :) and I work around 80 hours every two weeks so just work hard and make sure you have extra money! And buy it as a student on the apple website! It won’t ask for proof and you get it for a whole $100 cheaper I believe :)

Side note about the CAMERA: Just bought the 2020 MacBook Air and the camera quality is AWFUL! I would NOT recommend if you are working remotely from home. I willl be returning mine soon and opting for an iPad instead or different laptop altogether.
My MacBookPro 2011 and even MacBook Air 2015 camera has better clarity, sharpness, and saturation. The 2020 one is very grainy and cannot capture light well at all.
With many of us working from home d/t COVID, I pray Apple updates this hardware or camera lens border in 2021. Highly disappointed! Telehealth, zoom meetings, any of such work can't be compromised with poor camera quality in 2020, esp when we have splendid cameras on phones/iPads with thin screens as well. There's no rationalizing for camera with the high price we pay.
