I've been receiving a lot of comments saying how i should've bought the 1800$ model, i appreciate the advice but when i first bought the laptop, the 2020 model has not been released and i was upgraded by apple AFTER my purchase so i couldn't change it. Plus, with all my upgrades (to i7 processer, 512gb of storage and 16 gb of ram) on the 2019 version it would've been MORE expensive so i decided to buy the cheapest 2019 version and do all the upgrades which totaled to $2100 instead of $2,500. Also, for MY needs the ram and storage are more important than the processor so i’m happy with the 8th gen especially since i saves money and got what i needed.
I’m pretty sure that when you ordered the MacBook you were ordering the 2020, the 2019 had big left and right arrow keys and the 2020 does not and on the display photo it had the same arrow keys as the 2020.
no, i was ordering the 2019 thus why i got the email from Apple that they were upgrading me, the footage of me "ordering" was staged the day my actual macbook arrived so the 2020 had been released and that was the model on the website.

Hi! Just saying that you can actually use the magic wand for the cropping part since I see lots of UA-camrs doing that.
I don't know if you know this but if you had gone for the 1799$ option that one has the 10th generation Intel chips and a much better graphic performance instead of the 8th generation that is on the base model. Also the performance difference between the i5 and the i7 is really insignificant. I would suggest that you return and get the 1799$ model because that upgrade includes 16gb ram and 512gb storage. Also the performance of the i5 version with the 10th gen chips is much less the same if not more, as of the performance on the i7 version with the 8th gen chips so don't worry about losing performance
Ps:there is also an education discount so it would be 1699$
i actually upgraded the cheapeast version to an i7 with 8th gen and 16gb of ram and 512 gb storage and it came out to being cheaper than if i got the 1799$ & i was also on a budget but thank you for your concern! :)

I’m deciding whether to get the MacBook Air 2020 or the pro. But I heard that the air is good for school work and Netflix and the pro is good for editing and gaming n stuff. But I might go with the air Bc I don’t rly edit... and I do most of my edits on my phone but idrk..
yeah i would agree that you should get the air as well if you don't edit, etc. i've had the air before and editing works fine on it too so unless you edit a LOT, get the air :)

For the collage, you should use pic collage on an iPhone or phone and you can use any pictures of you or save cute quotes from the internet and you can put them together, move then around, or use the stencil from the app. Then you can screenshot it and crop it if you don’t have the subscription and want to get rid of the watermark. You can airdrop the collage from your phone to your MacBook and then set the background so you can have memories as your background like a Polaroid pic.
yeah i’ve thought about that but i wanted to go with a certain style (beige themed) and decided using pictures off pinterest would be best :) thank you for the suggestion though, i’m sure others will find it helpful

no i didn't, they said they upgraded me because the 2020 came out before my laptop shipped but congrats the 2019 is still a great laptop

no no it’s not stupid, yeah basically every package whether big or small are left at the door and you are responsible for it once it’s delivered basically. Luckily for me I sign up for text alerts so when it’s delivered i get a text saying it arrived to avoid my package waiting out for too long. Thank you sm!! it’s amazing, if you do end up getting one- CONGRATS!!

Vy Mai although that’s definitely valid, the $1799 model would get you 4 thunderbolt ports, two fans, a much faster processor that’s 10th gen vs 8th gen, ~2x faster ram, better speakers, much better internal graphics (up to 80% faster). If there is still and option to exchange I’d do it because the 10th gen i5 is much faster than the i7 8th gen. But honestly if you’re happy and if what you have works for you that’s all that matters (:

Vy Mai the processor isn’t the same tho because you have an i7 8th generation processor while the newest, most upgraded 13in has an i7 10th generation processor. There is a definite performance difference between the two. Nevertheless, congrats on the laptop!
yes but my intention was never to get the 10th gen processor, i’m fine with the 8th gen and because i was on a budget i decided the cheapest alternative with the ram and storage was more important for MY needs, but thank you :)

i didn't know they did that so it came as a surprise for me, i guess since my original macbook order was more expensive than the new release but had the same stuff they just upgraded me?? the only reason i was given was because my order hadn't shipped when the macbook 2020 came out.

I just ordered me a new MacBook pro 13 inch without any upgrades. I do get free apple air pods. I already have a pair so I will be giving the free ones to my oldest son. I have an old mid 2012 MacBook. I had it for a while its been working great till a few months ago. It started over heating and shutting down. so I thought my birthday is July 4th what do I want? I will be getting a new computer. That will be delivered a couple days or a day before my birthday. awesome.

So how about when I bought my laptop before COVID it was an evening night and the mall was in a sketchy area... the Apple store RAN OUT OF BAGS. Talk about sketchy. Luckily we had other bags and put it in there. But that shouldn’t be a thing because someone can just jump you in the dark for your 2800 dollar laptop.

It sounds like your not that familiar with computing and that’s fine, but just saying that if you put like $100 more you could have bought the 16” MacBook Pro which is far far far more powerful and has a better display, not to mention the dedicated GPU. But none the less great Mac and congratulations 🥳
