That looks great. I live in Tenerife and was just a gym bro but started crossfit a few months ago. Off the back of this video I literally just signed up for Spartan 10k race this Sunday. Never done one before. Thanks mate!
Great work on completing all 3 events back to back. Great showing as well. This event looks like something I’d like to try, specifically the Deka mile. As a beginner, i don’t think i could go through a Hyrox event entirely….maybe on a stretcher, but this seems more up my speed. Sadly, none scheduled for NYC anytime soon 😩
I've been watching for Hyrox events near me in the US, but now that I know Spartan does something similar, this will vastly help me find events that I can go to without having to take a ton of PTO, thanks Mark!
Very informative. CrossFit never appealed, too much ego, so when you described DekaStrong as "competitive circuit training" that really resonated. The running + fitness station events (Hyrox, Deka Fit) appeal much more and, ironically, fit more with the original (old school, early 2000s) goals of CrossFit (Glassman's 10 aspects of fitness, etc.).

I did my first DEKA Mile about a month ago at a local gym here in the US and it was cramped and the run was done outdoors. They did waves of 3 participants about every 15-20 minutes and each of us was assigned a personal coach/marshal which was nice and was intended to make sure there was no cheating. This was my marshals first time so they did get some of the rules and counts wrong which caused me to get in my own head about it but overall it was a great challenge.
