- The Star Trek original series is set nearly 360 years after the first Model T rolled out of Ford’s Detroit plant. You would think that Federation citizens in the 23rd century would have little use for automobiles, especially in a world where spaceships, shuttle craft and teleportation exists. But the crew of the Enterprise would make several visits to the Earth of the past, and Kirk, Spock, and McCoy would encounter multiple 20th century American cars in their adventures. Today, we're taking a look at the classic cars of "Star Trek." Let's begin.

Just to nitpick, Gary Seven was not a "humanoid alien", but an actual human raised and trained on an alien planet.
To nitpick your nitpick… the “cat” could have been the humanoid alien spoken about, since she transformed to a girl humanoid during the show. Maybe the narrator just left out the word, AND…
@@whochecksthis Just to nitpick your nitpick of his nitpick, I was the humanoid alien, and the girl was a holographic projection I built like Joi in Bladerunner. Neither the cat nor the girl were real, but projected by a sonicscrewdriver like device called an Emanator carried by Gary Seven that allowed her to gain experience outside the lab.

These old cars were only about 30-35 years old when the episodes were made!
Leonard Nimoy has Buick Riviera guy written all over him...pointy toed ankle boots, turtle neck sweater, and tan leather blazer with plaid slacks.
60's stylin for sure.
All the early 30s Cadillacs were formerly under contract to Desilu for The Untouchables. Kirk drives Al Capone and Frank Nitty's V12 Cadillac Phaeton.
Beautiful automobile.
I'm sure Piece of the Action and Patterns of Force was shot on a location set dressed for Mission Impossible that year. All the Mercedes and the Culver 40 streets look very familiar
Im actually watching Season 1 of The Untouchables on dvd! Woww..its a great gun show!!!
@@user-dk3up2nl1m wait till you get to the two parter about moving Capone to Alcatraz.
I remembered all the episodes,
can’t say, that I knew all the cars!
Thanks for sharing!
That was pretty cool. Thanks for making that video!
Cars looked more futuristic then than now.
Those various mid-1960's cars were *current* models at the time of filming those episodes !
At the 3:34 mark. That's the 40 acre backlot aka Mayberry.
Wasn't this car also featured in an episode of Bewitched around the same time in the '60s. Approx 1966. The Reactor is a custom car built by Gene Winfield, also called the Jupiter 8. It was also on the Batman TV series and Mission Impossible TV series
Bewitched, bewitched, ba ra pa pa pa paaa.
You forgot the truck that killed Edith.
@@mattlawler8794 Dude, Spoiler Alert?!
@@mattlawler8794she was a dingbat
Yes it was a paul build.
How could older kirk not know how to drive a car. Did he not drive his stepfathers corvette off a cliff. 😂🤣😅
proof he didnt know how to drive.
@cuzz63 it's literally in this video. He back into a car instead of going forward.
🍀Oh hell yeah 👀✌️
cool content and voice over as well !
Voice over spot on for this, for sure!
Unc was a mob wanna be and he howled and laughed when he saw this
Excellent!
Was Leonard Nimoy the narrator of this video?
Sure is similar!
I was going to ask about that! The voice is hauntingly close to Nimoy's voice.
Thanks , Enjoyed ,Very good, been a Trek fan since the beginning. 68.
@@fredboat 1964. Pilots. 1966. Premiered
Too young for the pilots, but from the day it premiered til it was taken off I never missed a single episode.
@@vargr yeah pilot re cut to make ep. The. Cage. Where spocko goes bonkers takes over enterprise and kidnaps Pike to Talos IV
Awesome. Thank you!
I am still debating if that is Leonard Nimoy talking! Scary!
Kidd this is always nice to see and I love it no mater what life will be, For you tell a story of what life will be and I love it .For this was cool to see and I love it.
It never made sense to me how Lt Paris on Star Trek Voyager knew about a 1969 Chevy Camaro and liked it so much that he had a holodeck reproduce one for him.
Motor trend magazine on pdf files isolinear chips
Yeah, should have been a Mustang.
@@charlesballard5251 Parris was a retro historian of sorts so. He knew of cars and able to recreate them from voyagers database on holodeck..beside she mis pronounces Camaro. Wrong
@RAGER - - 12 year old KIRK completely destroyed a REAL 1960-ish CORVETTE !!
Was that a RS or a plain SS in the shower. Belana mispronounces ot
So well done Fusion Kidd! 🚘👍
The car that Kirk is leaning on, is the hot rod out of Bewitched😮
That is the Reactor built by Gene Winfield.Powered by a turbo 6 Corvair engine.
GREAT VIDEO!!! THESE ARE GREAT CARS ,,MY GRAND FATHER MANY OF THEM ,,BUT I ONLYY DRIVE 60-70S BUT DID HAVE A 1955 FORD FAIRLANE FORD O MATIC BUT SOLD IT ,,. GREAT VIDEO!!
Love it❤
3:25 That is the set of Andy Griffith. The odd shaped building near where they are standing where the car is parked is the drug store and off to the left of the screen, you can see the two pillars in front of the courthouse. City on the edge of forever was also filmed on this set.
@@mac11380 piece of the action tooooo
In Star trek voyager they beamed an old 36 ford truck aboard
Great Video , its a big ask but a video on were the cars are now would be interesting (:
Great research...I tip my hat!
Very good video.......I never knew there were so many cars in Star Trek . Here's hoping you do "I Dream of Jeannie" also, Major Nelson had some really nice rides throughout the entire run of the show.
V - 16 Engine nice !
Solid!
Top KEK!
Peace be with you.
Kirk needs to learn to look both ways.
Miri was filmed on the set of Mayberry.....
Fantastic ❤
I'll bet Bill loved these episodes
The only car you didn't tell us about is the one that's on the front page of this video. I know it's a concept car, I'd love to know more about it!
Someone help me out here. I believe it was the episode “Bread and Circuses” where Kirk is thumping thru a magazine and comes across a picture of the “Jupiter 8” a 20th century automobile. Is that the one he’s leaning up in the publicity photo? That obviously wasn’t the photo in the magazine…..
wonder where these cars ended up? Any still around??
Great!
Do one for 'Mad Men'
Dang , narrator sounds like spock
Sounds more like Young Nimoy.
Surprised on how much litter there is in some street scenes.
3:31 its Mayberry.
Terry Garr in the last clip with the man holding the black cat.
@@Brianscoronet Gary 7. Assignment Earth........ Miss Lincoln. And cat named
Isis
Are you sure it should’ve been called Flivers of Star Trek
Car( Kirk leaning on) on the cover of article wasn't even discussed or present
That car that kırk stands against was only a promo, was not in the show. It was the kitty kat car/ joker car
I thought it was shown in a commercial in the Bread and Circuses episode.
And on bewitched
@@user-ht1xu4gv2u I forgot about that!
@@aleks1939 you are correct. The scene with the first video shot of the planet. Almost didn't catch that, since it was seen in b & w
@@printerman99 Whew! I started to think that maybe I had imagined that 🤣
