14:30 "Why thank you...Captain McCoy." I cracked up laughing at that around 1971 in Jnr. High watching it for the first time in afternoon reruns and I cracked up watching it tonight!
The original Star Trek is possibly the very best show to come out of American broadcast television. After all, after over 55 years, it is still syndicated. No one can say the same for, "Bonanza", "Gunsmoke", "Mission Impossible", etc,.
The Gerry Anderson show;Ufo is syndicated,as well!I do remember the Star ⭐️ Trek series in reruns, until the 1974,through 1977 era.In 1973,I saw the animated cartoon’s,which I have on my bookself. These films 🎥 are a favorite,❤️ as well! This is why my reading 📖 time is so slow,now-days!I try to read when possiable, though!

I like in "Amok Time" when Spock says that the groom can invite his closest friends, and invites Kirk. Then turns to McCoy and says, "And McCoy." And McCoy says, "I would be honored, sir." In "Mirror, Mirror" when Spock is starting a mind-meld with McCoy and they're practically nose-to-nose, they had to film that scene last 'cause Nimoy and Kelley kept cracking up laughing. During one take, De leaned forward and kissed Leonard right on the tip of the nose!
One thing I noticed that was never mentioned or shown in the series or any of the other series of Star Trek was that Romulans males were not depicted going through Pon Farr as Vulcan males were portrayed doing so. Since the Romulans are the Vulcans who rejected the logic of Surak, it would be logical to assume that Romulans males go through it as well, and I wonder why that was never indicated at any time during any of the series which were produced.
A real representation of a true friendship as well as the classic triumvirate friendship where Spock is logic, McCoy is emotion and Kirk tries to be the balance between the three of them. In other words: Awesome
I agree, I played Star Trek at age 10 with My best friend at the 🏫 School Yard. I had a pretty good copy of a Star Trek uniform shirt, combined with a pair of pants and boots, I looked the part. A cassette player looked like a Tricorder, I made other equipment out of scrap plastic.
I was 11 when TOS came out. It changed my life. I am from a small town in Mississippi. Literally a one stop light town at the time. TOS presented me with another way of thinking. The first mention of the word "logic" came. I went on to a career in the military. Whenever I had an issue, I would wonder what Kirk or Spock or Scotty would do in a similar situation. It altered my perception of life.
My family and I lived in Columbus, GA. Each Thursday, my mother grabbed my brother and me and marched us upstairs to watch "Gunsmoke" with her, while my father stayed downstairs to watch whatever he watched. One day, my father came into my mother's "lair" and said, "You people are going to come with me." We all went downstairs and my father said, "Watch this. If you don't like it, you don't have to ever watch it again." It was the original "Star Trek." We were all spellbound - and hooked. My parents, who played bridge with their friends on Thursday nights, thereafter refused to stay with their friends longer than 8:00 p.m. (when Star Trek aired), so that they could come home and watch it with us. I was 13 years old. Three years later, the U.S. landed men on the moon. I thought we had entered the "Golden Age of Trek." Unfortunately, we're still trying to get there, aren't we? Anyway, dan6442, thank you for reminding me of the time Star Trek changed MY life. You and I are in total agreement!
@@DeaconMurphy Of course. I am one of them that was influenced in my own career. They framed my thinking. I had no one else that could teach me what they taught me.
Yeah, it is said The TOS crew had loads of fun, great food, lots of great guest stars 🎉 Like Vic Tayback of Mel's Diner, episode "A piece of The Action."
8:21 my favorite TOS crew moment is when Bones yells at spock to shut up which spock gives a surprised expression in return from being yelled at and shushes kirk who also gives a disgruntled look and later realizing that McCoy finally got the last word for once starts grinning from the victory of winning an argument from both his friends at once
I still go back and watch this show, and to be honest, Spock, Bones, and Scotty, are entertaining as hell on this show. Old shows like these have a charm and delivery that todays shows just cant match.
@kazejah1014 boy you certainly know it!! Everyone was friendly and cracking each other up......never trying to outdo the other........EXCEPT.......and we ALL know who HE was!!😵💫😵
The original frenemies. McCoy would not abandon bearded Spock in the alternate universe. After watching the video Kirk left behind, while Kirk was missing, McCoy yielded to Spock as the commanding officer.

One of the best interplay between characters ever. A love/hate relationship if there ever was one. I wonder how many times scenes had to be retaken due to laughter?
That Miri one at the beginning always gets me. It's not shown in this video: Bones wants to use the experimental cure but Spock doesn't fully agree. But Spock then promptly finds a reason to leave the room but hangout nearby. It feels like Spock is tacitly acknowledging that Bones is probably right that the risk is worth taking. This is a great vid. I'd forgotten how well these three played off each other.
Dr. McKoy and Mr. Spock. They didn't at all get along, they seemed like enemies, yet both had profound professional respect for one another. It's a part of what made original Star Trek so damn special!
Thank you for the great collection! The moments you highlighted do an excellent job of portraying the sincere friendship and strong sense of respect that both Spock and Bones have for each other. Despite their constant bickering.
I grew up without a father . Kirk, Spock and McCoy became my father figures . That triad view of life helped me evaluate issues from many angles. I think I have a very balanced response to life because of these three . Above all I never leave out tbe good natured humor of Dr. McCoy.
People diss Star Trek and Shatner's acting but the core of the show was Bones, Spock, and Jim's triumvirate of friendship with Kirk being the balancing force between Spock and Bones' opposed views. It's wonderful to watch because these seasoned actors took characters and added their own nuances to each that wasn't really scripted. It's why 50 years on they still hold up.
I have always enjoyed the constant bickering between Dr. McCoy and Mr. Spock. Even in the movies after the Original Series, they were still picking at each other, however, it was plain to see, they respected one another immensely.
This was very enjoyable. I was a teenager when the original Star Trek series debuted, and I never missed an episode. Years later, when someone posted many of them on youtube, I watched them all over again. I enjoyed the movies, and the succeeding TV series, but not nearly as much as that original TV run. It was a very, very special series.

3:52 - Spock Mind Rapes McCoy. This is a scene that just seems to be glossed over, but in the movies Bones holds Spocks soul in his mind. Is it possible these two characters are really one in sense?
