Sorry to see that you’ve stopped producing YT videos. I just discovered you and have to say, after binge watching, you’re one of my favorites. Few can relate experiences - both positive and negative - the way you do. I find it quite valuable as I decide the direction I want to go with my purchase. Cheers Janko!
This is one of the best Porsches I've owned. Took delivery in September, optioned out to around 118k US, already appreciated to 130-140k US. I get more looks in this car than may 992s. It's a beauty and also fun at the track! My build is similar. Full leather, with silver stitching to break up the red. Just an amazing car.
Great review, I actually did buy one of these. I opted for a generous spec, adding leather on many places but staying with the manual. I did not paint the roll bars for the same reason you suggested, to bring out the silver body more prominently. I did add the Burmester however, as it added to the luxury experience when cruising. It’s very much the luxury Boxster and feels like a special occasion when driving.
Damian Sasso@ .. The Burmeister HiFi option? Would you buy this option again? .. I have the Burmeister HiFi option spec’s in a ‘23 Cayman GTS 4.0l allocation / build. .. The guess is the Bose HiFi is simply mediocre to average in fidelity…. What say you? Cheers, Mike
Oh yeah I’d go Burmeister again. In the 25 years, which feels like the luxury GTS, it just works well with the “vacation drive” experience that Janko talks about in his video. It’s a powerful sound and mixes well with the induction noise to create an ambience to top down motoring. I love it, I’d spec it again. I guess all depends on how you view your car and how you’ve specced it. But if you plan to listen to some music with the top down, the sound is powerful enough to blast through the wind noise.
I also got the Burmeister in my 25. I thought the Bose "upgrade" sounded like trash. I didn't opt to leather out everything. Mine is a PDK and my car is a daily driver (for the few months a year I'm home and not overseas). My roll bars are painted in silver.
Nice summer video in January. The owner of the local Porsche store here has one for sale ($150k Can.) I was told if you are the owner of a 918 Spyder,(which he is) you have first opportunity to buy a Boxster 25. Thanks for your videos Janko. I appreciate the effort you put into them.
Agree David, sometimes I wonder why there is a possibility on anniversary cars to select different option. perhaps it should be a non option car to make sure the tribute is complete
Beautiful vehicle, I think Porsche delivered classic modern perfection with this 718 GTS. This will go down as one of their bests. It would pop more in black with neodym wheels and accents. Great review as always, lots of detail delivered with passion!
Great video Yanko. Your contagious enthusiasm & humour are the best. These cars have come a long way. A friend had the 928S & that was way ahead in performance & design than the early Boxsters
I agree, the 928 is one of the best cars Porsche has made. A simple proof of that is the car of the year award. Still, the only sports car winning the price.
I cant agree with you about the 4.0 litre engine it is so much nicer than the 2.0/2.5 litre which sounds so harsh when you rev it. I have bought the boxster 25 edition car and love the engine and overall package. I also think it handles really well as a sports car and is not a cruiser like you suggest in your review.
You might not know this, but Porsche then had to turn to Toyota to teach them how to build cars The consultants arrived with chain saws, announced the assembly line was a museum and began to cut down shelves on the assembly line to make their point. Just so you know the cost difference to make a 911 instead of a Boxster is only 10 percent. For Porsches, Scotsman should shop cost per kilo the Cayenne being the cheapest lol.
No not at all, FYI I have sold the Spyder. The Boxster 25 should have come with the 2.5 4-cyl engine from the 718 GTS. To bad nobody paid the Porsche History a thought.
@@JankoLind I know you sold it Janko, I’m subscribed. Its just funny how you go apesh*t when it comes to gts 4.0. Especially after praising this engine in GT cars. Nobody cares about the history as much as you do and nobody wants that T4 engine in their porsche. And btw this four-liter is just perfect for the car especially with a manual. Peace! ✌️
@@sj2345 You are right; I and perhaps two more people in the world care about Porsche history; I agree with you. I believe the sales numbers talk for themselves. With that said, the purpose of my channel is to share my thoughts. It doesn't necessarily apply to the majority of petrolheads.
Good review Janko. I think you're right... it a gentleman's car, a little calmer and more relaxed than the GT products. But what is it about your preference for the 4cyl engines?
It's simple, anyone paying attention to the history of Porsche, the mid-engine car should have a 4-pot. It just makes the car complete. A 6 cylinder Boxster losses the Porsche DNA. I know, I know, the market is asking/demanding a flat-six, but very few buyers care or respect the history. They want to think they are buying the "right" configuration.
@@JankoLind I hear what you say Janko and I would not want to disavow your opinion or that of the 4 cyl owners ... they are highly effective powerplants. But with respect to history, the mid-engined 50's machines were naturally aspirated flat 4's, not turbos, and even the premium 914 got a flat 6 in the end. The most important aspect to my mind with respect to the history is engine responsiveness to complement the chassis. No turbo however well engineered can match that. And the aural benefit is just a bonus. You know this Mate, you bought a 718 Spider.
Always enjoy your informative reviews but I don't relate to the negative Spyder comfort comments. My Spyder with 918 buckets is super comfortable more so than a Carrerra T and if you need more comfort just add additional memory foam in the seats. Are you going to do a 992 GTS review?
The 918 buckets is amazing in comfort, I agree. But if you would like to have heated seats or in this case cooling then the comfort is your only choice. A GT car should ALWAYS have buckets. No 992 GTS review planned. IF you are not already, please consider subscribing.

What is all this about the 4 liter being too big for the chassis? Do Porsche engineers and other knowledgeable drivers agree with that? Only place I’ve heard this and it’s either a stupid opinion (I have plenty of my own, not judging) or has some truth to it. Which one? He says it like it’s just an unfortunate fact.
I turned down an allocation for this as I think a gts looks a better then I cancelled that as well to get a 911 again. The only flat 4 I ever desired had an Alfa badge on it. Have you tried one as it shows the Porsche unit for what it could have been. And yes I actually owned a few different ones. I think your largely on your own wanting a 2.5 over a 4.0 in a gts.
@@JankoLind It takes Iron will to actually buy a Alfa, most of them should be collected by the Swedish Army and turned into bunkers on Gotland. Russians are infamous for being scared of Alfas.
I agree completely but a chassi and wheels are easy to fit back. Important to safely store the original parts. In addition the car needs it. If you are not already, please consider subscribing.
Janko good video!!! The Boxster 25 will definitely keep its value just slightly less than the SPYDER! I prefer the SPYDER!!! I have owned 17 Porsches. I have enjoyed them all. I like my 911 Turbo S best overall but would also desire the SPYDER for top-down hauling-ass on summer days. Looks like I will get the C8 Corvette Z06 HTC instead of the SPYDER. It will be my Golf ⛳️ car instead of the SPYDER. I am wondering what an EV Boxster will be like? Hopefully it will be the perfect quick convertible for the weekends. You can have your 4 cylinder Boxster. Hated the sound but the performance was decent and fun to drive. The 4.0 6 cylinder is my vote for the Boxster & Cayman!!! Cheers (am subscribed 😃)
Thanks for subscribing, yes I know, I'm the only one appreciating the history of Porsche wanting the 4-pot in the Boxster Cayman. Congratulation to your Turbo S.
I live in Southern California and I so appreciate your channel. Can you please remind me what size tires you would buy for a Spyder. I have a 2021 Spyder in GT silver with a bordeaux interior. I’m ready for new tires. I’m thinking about getting the Michelin 4 S tire vs. Sport Cup 2. Larger tires would add to the driving experience. What larger size will my Spyder accommodate? Thank you
I agree with your view on the wheels - something just doesn't feel right about them and I feel like the HRE wheels you suggested would make the car's stance look a little better. Also, personally I feel like a black Boxster would go better with the neodyme accents
Yes but with a black car you loos the purpose of the Boxster 25. I agree on the wheels as expected. If you are not already, please consider subscribing.
