    2. Wild salmon
    3. Almonds
    4. Dark Chocolate
    5. Greens
    6. EVOO

John Meadows is an American professional bodybuilder and entrepreneur with an intriguing story. While John now boasts a successful career as an IFBB Pro bodybuilder and fitness company owner, his journey towards the top was extremely difficult.
Growing up, John never met his father, and his mother died at an extremely young age. This meant John only had his grandmother to take care of him. When his grandmother tragically passed away in 1999, John was left alone without his family to support him.
As the years went by, John continued to face new adversities in his life. During his early days in bodybuilding, John suffered from a rare colon disease. After fighting the disease for several months, his colon burst - almost resulting in his death. Luckily, John was quickly rushed to an emergency room where his life was saved. After several months of recovery, John was finally back on his feet.
Coming back into bodybuilding, John used the very obstacles that almost cost him his life as ‘fuel’ to grow stronger. Ever since he recovered from the colon surgery, John has gone on to become a successful bodybuilder, entrepreneur, and inspiration for many people all over the world.

Hey John, Love your channel, training and tips. Just a quick thing on chicken eggs. A common misconception is that happy chickens make a nicer yolk, however as someone who formulates diets for chickens who lay eggs on a commercial scale I can tell you that yolk colour is determined by the inclusion of a dye into the diet which colours the eggs to the market's demand. Therefore chicken egg yolk colour is not related to anything more than how much dye was included, as farmers know that customers like nice coloured yolks.

One thing thats very important to note that wasn't mentioned in this video is antioxidants (like in dark chocolate) consumed pre or post workout can reduce acute inflammation - something that is caused in response to training and is necessary for the response letting your brain know it needs to rebuild the damaged muscle cells back bigger and stronger. You can seriously impede your progress in terms of muscle hypertrophy by consuming anything that reduces acute inflammation pre or post training. It is for this reason taking ibutamoren or paracetamol is discouraged pre training.

Ah yes, it feels really good to have self reassurance. Eating pretty much everything on the list, only that I eat salmon every 1 to 2 weeks and only in the recent months have I started eating dark chocolate. Avocados are like hit or miss though, I eat them 2 days and skip them on the third, and it's not that I don't like them it's because they're really expensive in here, like 1,7€ and my total daily spendings are limited to 7€, so it adds up and I have to make compromises.

I have always ate a lot of whole eggs for years. The one brand that is exceptional quality is Vital Farms. People think organic eggs is expensive but when you consider how much it costs to go eat, then paying 5.99 for a carton is cheap. That is the price here in Cali at least. Like John said, the yolks in the better quality are super dark even orange at times. They taste rich beyond comparison to lower quality eggs.

ya boi I’ve eaten vital farms. The eggs I get are close enough to not warrant the cost. I was shocked at the difference in these bulk eggs compared to the $3 a dozen eggs. They are a notch up from those and I’m not going back to $6 a dozen.

What John says about eggs is right. We get our eggs from our neighbor who has chickens that roam around the yard. You can tell a big difference in the yoke color. You can see that their diet has many more minerals in it. And from a ethical point of view, I'm sure those chickens are much happier than the ones that are stuck in a cage for their entire lives.

💯❗️I could not possibly agree more, John! Although I feel that balance is important, 95+% of my calories come from Whole Foods. I follow two simple rules: 1) I shop the perimeter of the market and; 2) I try and limit every meal to 5 ingredients...a protein, a carb, a fat, a green and salt; changing the macros as needed. I find nothing wrong with being creative and making meals flavorful, just be mindful of the number of ingredients. Meaning, no processed foods. Thank you for another outstanding video🙏🏻
