Not only did Violet Jessop survive the sinking of the Titanic and the sinking of the Britannic, she was also onboard the Olympic in 1911 when it collided with British warship HMS Hawke.
Guess who was captain of the Olympic when it hit HMS Hawke in 1911?!? Yep it was EJ Smith captain of the ill fated Titanic. White Star should never have hired Smith for Titanic. That was their big mistake. Smith was too old and tired after 40 years at sea
A couple of things. First, the Titanic's younger sister was named the Britannic, not Gigantic. There is no reference to the Britannic ever being called Gigantic throughout her development. There is a poster floating around somewhere which is supposedly from just before Titanic's launch, advertising the Olympic Class of ship, naming the Olympic, Titanic and Gigantic, but for one, White Star Line never acknowledged this to be true, and secondly, there are other pieces of advertising from the same time which shows Britannic. I'm fairly certain that the name Gigantic was a creation by a Titanic, or Ocean Liner enthusiast who created their own fictional fourth Olympic Class ship. Secondly, the whole lifeboat debate. Well, you were correct in saying that there were more than the legal number required, and there were also not enough boats for everyone on the ship. However, this was not an unusual occurrence. The fact is, in 1912, the Antlantic shipping route was so busy that it would be thought that there would always be a ship nearby to render aid in the event of a catastrophic emergency. The Lifeboats were only thought to ferry the passengers from the stricken ship to the safe one, not be a means of total evacuation for everybody on board with nowhere else to go. this is a small thing, but the photo of the white ship being launched isn't of the Titanic, despite the name on the back of it. That is, in fact, Olympic. Olympic, being the first of the three ships built had much more fanfare than Titanic did, and both Harland and Wolff shipyards and the White Star Line decided to paint the Olympic white for her launch to make her pop in photographs. The fire theory is... kinda proven, and disproven at the same time. First of all, yes. There was a fire on the Titanic throughout her maiden voyage from the time she was in Southhampton. However, coal fires on steam ships were not uncommon occurances, and the ships were built to withstand the temperature caused by this fire. Also, the fire was extinguished in the early hours of the morning of Sunday, April 14. The fire had absolutely nothing to do with the sinking. When you were talking about the HMHS Britannic and Violet Jessup, you actually showed a photo of the Olympic, as identifyable by her fully open A-deck promenade.. As well as her distinct lack of a Hospital Ship livery. "Beautiful glass dome, meant to create the illusion of daylight." This is not true. Recent evidence suggests that the dome itself was not actually electronically lit, like you see in the James Cameron film. Instead, just the central chandelier would have been lit. The main reason for this, maintenance over a long career would be nearly impossible. The space between the skylight and the dome was incredibly small, and there was no way to really access it from the in, or outside. The Forward Grand Staircase was not in the "Forecastle." The Forecastle refers to the very front part of the ship. In Titanic's case, it refers to both the open and uppermost enclosed decks forward of the forward Well Deck. Also, there is some debate about how the term Forecastle is actually pronounced, but most tend to agree, it's actually pronounced as "Folk-sle" The A-la-carte restaurant was not the main dining hall for First Class passengers on the Titanic, but you were right in saying that the more wealthy passengers would have frequented it. The main First Class dining hall is actually down on D-deck, just aft of the forward Grand Staircase, which also has a reception room adjacent. There was also a gangway door on D-deck which led directly into the reception room and Grand Staircase where first class passengers boarded. In the A-la-carte restaurant, the patrons there not only could book in advance, but they actually had to. They had to book their seats prior to the voyage even starting, and meals there also cost extra on top of their ticket, whereas down in the main dining hall on D deck, the meals were included with the price of their ticket.
The fire actually saved quite alot of lives because it required the crew to move all the coal to the other side of the ship and acted as a counter weight to the water that flowed in. Basicaly, it prevented the ship from capseizing and bought everyone about 1 hour and 40 minutes extra to escape. Sorry if this was confusing, English is not my first language.
🚢Did you know that down there, where the sunken ship lies (3,800m depth), the pressure is 378 times greater than at the surface? There's no sunlight at all but yet you can still find sea life. And these deep-sea creatures are both fascinating and really badass. 🖖🏾 (Spoiler: e.g. the barreleye-fish has a totally transparent forehead)
The coal fire was put out and actually saved over 700 lives. They had to move coal to the port coal bunker from the starboard. If they didn't move this she would have capsized in around an 1 hour
Did ytou know that a lifeboat drill was scheduled for the morning of Sunday, April 14, 1912 but Captain Smith cancelled it? As a result, the officers weren't trained on how to lower the lifeboats amd didn't know that they were tested at Belfast to full capacity which is whey the left less than 1/2 full. Law now requires mandatory lifeboat drills
The crew knew how to lower the boats, most were working for the WSL for over 10 years...not only that, they did a drill at belfast before heading to southampton.
Even though the crew was untrained 1st officer Murdoch managed to launch the starboard side lifeboat by himself while it took Captain Smith, 2nd Officer Lightoller and Chief Officer Wilde to take care of the port side boats
@@Apatetika misinformation just to taint history is what comments like this do. Yes he canceled it, but to say they were “untrained” is simply ridiculous. Unprepared maybe, rusty at it possibly, but they were far from untrained. Even if they had more lifeboats, the boats took too long to launch because of the design. Trained professionals tested it and it took them several minutes to load and launch a single boat. Despite what everyone wants to think, the titanics crew was fairly competent and deserve praise for rescuing everyone they could. The only thing they did wrong was let them go with small numbers but they didn’t even have much choice in that either Edit: To be clear, I’m agreeing with you that the original comment is only half true
In all honesty it's actually really sad that the Titanic didn't actually manage to crash into the New York back then as it was leaving Southampton. That accident alone could have prevented the whole sinking of that otherwise absolutely beautiful and magnificent ship. From my point of view - the Olympic class liners are the most beautiful ships ever built
Checking the passenger list of the titanic, Vaghinak Byurat wasn’t on the titanic. The fire also helped with the fire, but it wasn’t visible. The “explosion sound” was probably the explosion that created the second funnel to break. The light was a lifeboat looking for anyone in the water.

3:09 The amount of lifeboats actually exceeded legal regulation. Lifeboats were meant to ferry passenger from a sinking ship to a rescue ship instead of keeping them alive until rescue ships arrived
Violet Jessop was onboard all of the Olympic class liners she survived the Collision with the Olympic and Hawke on 1911 and survived Titanic on 1912 and Britannic on 1916

It's embarrassing that this video is still up. None of it is researched thoroughly or based on any facts. "Vaghinak Byurat" was not an Armenian on the Titanic. (All the Armenian passengers are named on various sources - there was 6 of them)
4:10 Technically, he is correct. It's more the Titanic hit an iceberg,,not an iceberg hitting the Titanic. However, there have been evidence that has shown the iceberg had paint marks on it that was the same paint from the Titanic. The problem with the "coal fire" theory discussed around 4:10 is that it doesn't explain the "tear" in the ship. If it was a fire, and an explosion was large enough to create a hole, it wouldn't be a tear, but rather a more round-ish hole blown in the side of the titanic. Furthermore, the hole would have had to have been large enough to cover the 6 compartments for the ship to sink. However if that was the person's claim, they contracted themselves in their own claim. They first say that it wasn't caused by an iceberg, but then later say that the fire caused the hull to weaken so it couldn't withstand the collission with the iceberg. Either way, an icerberg bought down the Titanic. If the metal was just weakened but the Titanic didn't hit the iceberg, then it probably would have made it to NY.

1 huge mistake in this video. The black mark that he pointed to at the front of the ship called the forepeak is false. That area is where workers would sleep like the firemen and stockers. The black mark is behind the number 1 funnel in boiler room number 5 on the starboard side.

Exactly. It would've been on limping mode but would've made it's maiden voyage.
