so many distorted facts here: the captain of the Titanic was well seasoned and certainly not reckless. Going with speed through an icefield was common practice then and the Titanic was not overspeeding. Then the lifeboats: there were more places on the lifeboats than required by law at that time. So no fault here with the White Star Line. Then the command women and children first: this is sad, that Officer Lighttoller understood it as women and children only, so that some lifeboats left while not yet filled. And climbing on the iceberg? The Titanic was not stopped by the iceberg, so it was probably already a mile or so away from the sinking ship, so there was not even a chance of getting there. And finally: the engines were stopped but not in reverse, as this would take too much time, longer than they had.

And at the time, everybody set up every single main lifeboat before any passengers were boarded. And because it took them 5 whole minutes to do just that, they only had an hour to get everybody off, and even still the last lifeboat to be lowered correctly only dropped 2 inches from the davids. The 2 collapsables had to float off the deck themselves because of how fast the ship was sinking at that point, similar to how it showed in A Night To Remember.
There were only 20 lifeboats because that was maritime law at the time. Lifeboats were meant to ferry passengers to a rescue ship, so they didn't need to carry the entire ship's capacity. It had nothing to do with cluttered decks.
Also, it was the fire that delayed the sinking. Because the coal in that area had all been moved to the port side of the ship, opposite the fire, she didn't capsize to starboard, as she likely would have had she been balanced. Instead, the watertight bulkheads were able to do their job and delay complete flooding of the ship, giving everyone much more time to get into the boats. Coal fires were not uncommon at sea during that time, so there was no reason to not set sail with a fire smoldering.
@@burnt.flowersthere is a couple documentaries that explore this theory.....there is actually some compelling evidence to suggest this theory is at the very least plausible...the name of the documentaries escapes me at the moment tho
1. Titanic was designed with 64 lifeboats, yet they were removed as there were way more than needed for regulations at the time. 2. Californian (closest ship in the area) saw the flares, yet they weren't coloured correctly to be distress flares. 3. Binoculars aren't used unless an object is already spotted, it wouldn't have helped 4. Titanic wasn't trying to break headlines, it would be only a few hours ahead of schedule. Not only that, it was nowhere near top speed and there was no evidence of an attempt to make headlines 5. No real expert would use the Coal fire as a reason Titanic sank. It wasn't, the fire was out before the ship hit the Iceberg and it wasn't reported to have weakened the hull. That coal bunker was actually the last place the hull was pierced 6. Ismay was likely ordered into a boat by Chief Officer Wilde or First Officer Murdoch. 7. That 'most likely' culprit of the Iceberg is not the most likely. It was described as looking like the Rock of Gibraltar. An Iceberg with the exact description was found only a few miles back, following behind the bodies (also clear collision damage.) 8. Costa Concordia is not comparable to Titanic in any way. "Titanicisation" disrespects those that died on both the Concordia and Titanic.

Another reason the people didn’t have enough life boats was because the captain was over confident, and he said that my ship is so strong I don’t need enough life boats.
Common life boat usage of the day was it was expected other ships would arrive and lifeboats were to ferry to the other ship, not be a replacement ship. Had the Californian responded, more people could have possibly been saved if they had responded when the titanic first indicated distress. Not everyone but at least more than was saved.
There was a certain amount of lifeboats any ship had to have, (which was 18), But since the ships at the time had been getting larger and larger, the titanic had the required amount of lifeboats, but because it was so big and the laws hadn't been changed, it didn't have enough. And it was the Owner of White Star Line who made the decision about the boats onboard

Imagine if the titanic happened today and all the ships that would come to help would have a battle on who could save them all and all of the ships just trying to save as many people as possible
No, the only ship to still sail oceans is the Queen Mary two. And even then, it has RADAR and Radio. So it likely wouldn't ever be in a situation like that.
More lifeboats wouldn't have saved more lives, because there was no time to launch them. They barely had time to launch 20 lifeboats before the ship went down.
@Motorsport Unofficial The Britannic had much less people aboard than the Titanic though, and they started evacuating them immediately because the damage was evident. On the Titanic the evacuation was slow at the beginning, and the last two lifeboats were not even launched properly because there was no time left (so one ended up partially submerged, and the other one was capsized, with people standing on top of it). That's what I meant - considering how slow they were at the beginning, if there had been more lifeboats they wouldn't have had enough time to launch all of them.
First of all, the RMS Mauritania travelled much faster than the Olympic class liners, so saying that the White Star Line wanted to set records for the fastest trans-Atlantic crossing is not true. Second, the Titanic was going at ~20 knots when she hit the iceberg, and after she hit, travelled further away from it. The currents would have pushed the iceberg further away from the Titanic in those almost 3 hours after she hit. Saying that people could have tried to climb onto the iceberg is unrealistic in this situation.

Um, Carpathia wasn't the first one to respond to titanic's distress calls, it's cape race, a lighthouse somewhere in New Finland Canada, in terms of ship nearest to Titanic, SS California has its marconni room off by the orders of the captain of that ship, the coal fire has been depunked already if I remember, titanic was cruising 24 knots when it hitted the iceberg. SS Frankfurt was the first to response and she received the distress call and apparently it confused the ship as it was too far from Titanic, SS California thought that titanic was celebrating during that night, there have been fights during the distress call if I remember cause titanic was called unsinkable and it only has been five days. Nevertheless some of this are true and facts
It would be quite an accomplishment to hit 24 knots considering its max speed was 23 knots and it has been determined that it was sailing at 20 and a half knots
During the trips to dive to the Titanic, you DON'T get in the submersible in Canada. You sail to the site on the support ship where you enter the submersible for the dive. Submersibles are not designed for or capable of traveling long distances by themselves. Do some basic research Bright Side.
Titanic's maximum speed was 21 knots, Mauretania had speed of 26 knots. There's no way for titanic to get blue ribband in 1912. Mauretania got blue ribband in 1908

5. No real expert would use the Coal fire as a reason Titanic sank. It wasn't, the fire was out before the ship hit the Iceberg and it wasn't reported to have weakened the hull. That coal bunker was actually the last place the hull was pierced
6. Ismay was likely ordered into a boat by Chief Officer Wilde or First Officer Murdoch.
7. That 'most likely' culprit of the Iceberg is not the most likely. It was described as looking like the Rock of Gibraltar. An Iceberg with the exact description was found only a few miles back, following behind the bodies (also clear collision damage.)
8. Costa Concordia is not comparable to Titanic in any way. "Titanicisation" disrespects those that died on both the Concordia and Titanic.

Another reason the people didn’t have enough life boats was because the captain was over confident, and he said that my ship is so strong I don’t need enough life boats.
Thats wrong. You’re wrong. Do some research next time, kid.
Common life boat usage of the day was it was expected other ships would arrive and lifeboats were to ferry to the other ship, not be a replacement ship. Had the Californian responded, more people could have possibly been saved if they had responded when the titanic first indicated distress. Not everyone but at least more than was saved.
Please do research, they didn’t have lots of lifeboats because they believed it was very save. And the captain never said the ship is so strong.
@@nathanbrooks4546 Close, the number of lifeboats went by the ships tonnage, At her tonnage she was carrying more lifeboats than was standard.

The "why didn't they claimed on the iceberg" was actually something ive been wondering since i was a kid and saw the movie for the first time
It was 2 miles behind them? duh
The iceberg would've been colder than the water, firstly, and secondly, the ship had moved to far away from the iceberg when it sank
The Carpathia responded the distress calls with the Titanic's SOS, not those rockets.
When Carpathia arrived, it fired rickets as well. But still, half of what Bright Side says are hoaxes. @Caleb The Gamer 2011 You are wrong as well. When the Carpathia got close to the Titanic's lifeboats, Carpathia shot up flares to indicate that they were close by. Californian thought that Titanic was sending messages with the rockets.

Get your facts straight the Titanic by count only needed 48 boats and that's what the original schematic called for

Imagine if the titanic happened today and all the ships that would come to help would have a battle on who could save them all and all of the ships just trying to save as many people as possible
nope can't imagine
No, the only ship to still sail oceans is the Queen Mary two. And even then, it has RADAR and Radio. So it likely wouldn't ever be in a situation like that.
Lol
But I heard there's gonna be a titanic 2😟😞
Some passengers did believe that this might happen
So many unfortunate events that Lemony Snicket could write a new series about cruise 🚢 disasters.
this comment is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
Reminds me of Rose and Jack and my heart will go on..😢✨

90% wrong information in this video.
Yep.
I’ll keep myself on land and watch everything about the titanic like I have been for yrs.

Titanic didn't want to go early, It had no chance to get the blue ribband. The only record to talk about is beating OLYMPICS record.
Titanic's maximum speed was 21 knots, Mauretania had speed of 26 knots. There's no way for titanic to get blue ribband in 1912. Mauretania got blue ribband in 1908

Please reply for my questions.
1. Most of the passengers could have climb the ice berg & saved them selves
2. Those who sit in the Life boats didn't travelled long
They could have allowed to other passengers.
To actually be able to get everyone on the ship those boats you would need to put 200 people in each boat
