    I leave my list of items (from an email to Kia sent some time ago), not all related to the infotainment but still constructive feedback (some of you already mentioned).
    * scheduled climate: it works only when the car is connected to the charger... It makes no sense!
    * profile save settings: it's not saving all the settings, for example, sport mode and iPedal are not saved, and each time goes back to normal driving. When put in reverse it resets the iPadel to level 3
    * the car from infotainment (and Kia Connect) does not have the same color as the real car. It may sound silly to complain about this but shows the attention to details from Kia... More than that, in the EV menu the car is NOT EVEN an EV6 (maybe Niro or something)
    * Unlock the charging cable: the car is charging, you enter the car and start it up, then it starts complaining about being plugged in BUT you can not unlock the cable if you don't power off the car (which you just powered on) 🤯
    * drive the car after remote operation: I got the car out of the parking place by remote fob, entered the car, and was unable to put it in on drive, it happened multiple times I needed to circle power on, and power off to have it working.
    * precondition button: please, please just add a button to precondition the battery on demand
    * Android Auto and head-up display: it would be nice while navigating with Android Auto to see the indications on the head-up display (as with the car navigation)! It must be a solution I had this on Mazda 3 a few years ago!
    * Driver profile by phone: add an option to link a phone to the driver profile, when the Bluetooth is connected to the phone x switch automatically the driver profile
    * phone as key: I have no idea why this is not present in EV6, to be honest when I ordered the car I did not bother to ask, I assumed that it has phone as key by default, been (at that time) Kia flagship
    * functions from Kia Connect: it would be nice to have control from Kia Connect on different functions like opening/closing the tailgate, on/off lights, etc
    * sentry mode: I get that since there is no storage in the car probably not possible to implement it now (only by software) but at least add the option to request (and receive) a static image around the car. In case of alarm send to Kia Connect images around the car.
    * auto parking: In my case, the car does not detect de parking space so auto parking is not working at home. it would be nice to have a way to teach the car to park.

      That’s an excellent list. I’ve forgotten most of my niggles over the last 3 years😂 So many videos,so much water under the bridge. Phone as a key is coming on the facelift model as well as the fingerprint reader but that’s no consolation to us Mk1 owners who have to live with it.

      Scheduled climate - agree. It was a blast on my Volvo to set up a proper weekly schedule, and I always started to drive in a nice cabin. It doesn't bother me in the KIA EV9, as electric cars preheat very fast. However, sometimes I forget to activate it on time and start driving in -20 outside is not pleasant.
      Yep, generic cars are the stupidest thing. As I commented below, Volvo had the same issue in 20217. But after a year (or so), I saw exactly my car (both interior and exterior).
      At least I have a precondition button in EV9.
      In EV9, Android Auto (both wired and wireless) is being replicated to the Head-up Display (during the navigation). So it is an older generation issue, I assume.
      Phone as a key comes on EV9. However, the walk-away auto-lock function is not yet there (and no indication it will be available).
      Sentry mode is available in the Korean (and I believe in the US) market. However, in Europe, KIA said to me it is illegal. Either Tesla does it illegally, or KIA failed to get approval. I was sure it would be available on EV9 when I ordered it (in August 2023), but after I learned it would not come to Europe. Bummer.
      They say there is no perfect system. However, I believe there is always room for improvement if you wish to do it.

      Genesis:
      *You can match the car colour - it's also the correct car.

      @@DerBlauzahn ccIC (latest Genesis navigation) and ccNC (latest KIA navigation) are the same (at least core). So, proper car display is purely a "background" issue (in the cloud). If they did it for Genesis, why not for Kia? :) mistery. I'm glad you it properly.

    #1 for me would be manual preconditioning or integration with Google maps (like a setting for destination "precondition before destination").

    Hi here from DENMARK !
    1) I too would be very happy if a manuel battery conditioning could be added
    2) When searching for charging points I would like to be able to insert my own text - in the first place I thought "has-to-be" was that facility ... IF so I can't get it to work - then teach me !
    3) Way better update methods - why not just use "over the air" ... it's already there ... the button is there, but just for now DISabled ... change it to ENabled !
    Very nice job you do and THX FOR THAT !!!!!

    Hi, I have two EVs: KIA EV6 and Tesla Model 3 LR. In my opinion, one of the most important feature (simple to implement) is the percentage of the battery at the destination where the navigation is active. Tesla shows on the navigation screen continuously, with KIA you have to click on the part where there are the information about the time @ destination. This is stupid, when you are driving to one destination, it is very important to have the real time information about the estimated battery SOC % at the destination too. This is dramattically simple to add, just move this information in the same area where there are real time information about the time to arrive.... This help the driver to drive at the right speed to reach the destination with a best residual percentage and where you are on the charging station you can see directly the estimated SOC% at the destination. In this way you can stay more or less time on the charging...looking at the SOC at destination, like Tesla :-)
    Tesla when you have enough charge to reach the destination with 20% of residual SOC shows a message on the screen or notifiy using APP.

      I find the KIA estimate to be grossly over so not sure how useful this would be?

    • @marcogavesi1536
      @marcogavesi1536 Місяць тому +1

      @flexflyer9049 so, the solution from Kia development team is hide the estimated Soc @ destination in a sub menu. 😉 I guess the estimated value is always a good idea if it is updated in real time. The same value is used in the navigation system in route planner. So, it must be quite accurate.

    A couple of points I'd like improved are 1) Show the 12V battery voltage, for peace of mind, like MG does on their TPMS screen, and 2) during DC charging show the max. charge rate the car is requesting from the charger, so we can easily determine if it's the car or charger which is the limiting factor at any given time

  • @grantrandall1674

    I would suggest a personalised target rest stop frequency for charging. Eg to allow a defined break, say approx every 1 and 1/2 hours to coinside with your prefer chargers. This should get the battery preconditioned for about the time you want to take a toilet break and coincide with maybe the cheapest chargers!

  • @evRoadTripsSvk
    @evRoadTripsSvk Місяць тому +5

    Agree. It’s very concerning that they’re still selling the “dead” Gen5W. Ideally, they should at least offer a retrofit to ccNc for 3-5 thousand euros. The absolute priority should be to complete the EV features: planner for minimum SoC, always display the incoming %SoC, planning without charging stations should show the range going into the negative, manual preheating. In summer, when it’s 30-40°C, battery preconditioning is really missed. Then, they could play around with the map graphics/speed UX, offer the ability to display icons with occupancy status nearby based on a filter, and enable quick route replanning like in Tesla.

      You make no sense, why would they go out of their way to retrofit a new unit for cars that's already sold?

    • @evRoadTripsSvk
      @evRoadTripsSvk Місяць тому +2

      @@mohgujai Because I want to have the latest software (modern GUI, manual preheating, streaming services) and extend the life of my car. I bought the car last year and expected some progress, not just getting essentially the same system I had in a 4-year-old Niro 2020, just with a bigger display. If Hyundai isn’t capable of ensuring SDV development on Gen5W, then I want ccNc. I’m definitely not going to change my car after 2-3 years for a new one just for the software. I’d rather pay them a few thousand for a retrofit. The rest of the car is excelent. It’s just a simple unit behind the glove compartment.

      @evRoadTripsSvk Місяць тому +2

      @@FireballYT Look, it doesn’t really matter to me. I can live with the car as it is. But it’s sad to see that many loyal Hyundai/Kia owners are leaving these cars because of this software approach. The sales of new models are weak here for the same reason. Hyundai/Kia could easily be on top with just a little more effort on their part.

    There is something new in the latest update that I haven’t seen before: lately I went to Italy and had a charging stop, on exit from the motorway to the charger the navigation will show empty/busy charging slots in a side window. It doesn’t hell at all, since when I am there, i will see how many charging cables are available anyway 😃 but it is interesting. (Enbw charger) Many features are done in the cloud, so maybe in the future the navigation will monitor charger availability at all times

    The head unit supports user profiles. My simple ask is that it remembers where you were on the USB MP3 player, on a per-user basis. We have two folders on the USB stick, one for me, and one for my partner. I have no wish to listen to his choice of "music" when I'm using the car.🙉

BTW if you don't use the bottom console to select the radio, Google's new radio service makes it very hard to get the real radio when AA is active

    I don't have much hope for the maps improving. Dead end roads, no right turns, incorrect road closure info, incorrect road open info, newish (5 months old) charging points not in database, gross overestimate of battery SOC at arrival / charger destination- all things I've experienced in just the last 10 days! My hope is that Google rollout their EV route planning to all (not just those vehicles where Google maps built in). Would need the manual precondition button though. Not bothered about Heads Up display for directions.

    To be honest, I do not understand the repeating request for wireless Andoid Auto and Carplay. Two years ago, I just spent 70€ for a AA Wireless and since then it works.... I'd be glad I could add some more missing features so easily. For me better map data, especially better speed limit data would be great!
    And by the way I tried Google Maps several times and I clearly prefer the Kia Navi because of its more accurate positioning. When Google Maps tells me to leave a roundabout sometimes I already passed the correct exit...
