Those specs that Drive quote that i used are off the coming soon version of the EV5 website as far as i can tell. I expect a more detailed press release spec sheet soon.

The chiller was in the Chinese spec but i can’t remember if the box was heated as well though so maybe Drive are correct after all.

They removed Soundhound which is an app to identify tracks. Soundcloud is a music streaming platform.

Yup. The trick worked this morning at Ionity. Was the quietest Ionity I’ve ever been to.

Ah that’s a pain. Was a nearly 3 years ago though since i ordered. I sat in the EV6 Facelift at Fully Charged Show today and test drove the Ioniq 5 N Line facelift. EV6 Facelift looks better in the flesh

@@evodessey A show I have always wanted to visit but its a long way to go for me, I live in the Kingdom of Fife 😉, maybe next year?. Are you thinking of swapping your EV6 for an Ionity then.......? I got my EV6 on Thursday and absolutely delighted with it thusfar, its everything i expected and have researched............and more! Really looking forward to taking it over to Spain in February via the Portsmouth - Bilbao ferry and hopefully trying out the Tesla Superchargers via the Kia Navigation system. Ive seen your post on the Carlinkit Tbox + and seriously considering getting one as I use ABRP for my alternate navigation aid.........do you happen to know if I will still need to link it to my car's OBD reader via Tronity as I had to do in my E-Niro or should the OBD just link directly to the car, if I install the ABRP directly on the Carlinkit device? Using the Tronity connection is a real faff and another layer of unwelcome complication....... Hope you found the show wothwhile, take care - Stewart

@stewarthamilton I'm keeping my EV 6 for now cos I still love it so much. ABRP should link directly to OBD via Bluetooth on Carlinkit just like Car Scanner does.

I unplug OBD adapter since it will drain the 12v battery.

@@evodessey Interesting. It says in the blurb that the adapter will shut off after 30 mins. Does that not happen in the Kia?

I’ve had it fail to pre-condition like that before. Fingers crossed for tomorrow’s journey. A lot does not make sense in the journey planner.

I've got an Ioniq 5 and get 97kW on a V4 tesla. currently all Tesla superchargers only give out approx 400V. I don't think Tesla will change this until they sell an 800V car in the UK.

Same here in the USA. I’ve charged my GV60 at a couple of Tesla magic dock stations and 97kW is the max. The good news is it holds at 97kW until 83% SOC. The limit is the car’s internal 400v to 800v converter. Since the battery isn’t the limiting factor, I’m not sure that preconditioning will help much. It still would be nice to have a button though.

I can confirm this indeed. My Kia take 98kw max at Tesla. No need to Pre-Heat it. Doesnt matter if the charger is a 150kw or a 250kw. KIA charges at max 98kw. Heard thats due of the 800v infrastructure of Kia.

Yeah I agree unless the battery is very cold. I use Car Scanner to check the cell temperatures. I'm not sure yet at what temperature the EV6 throttles back the charge rate to below the normal 96-97kW on a Tesla charger. Last weekend I set the destination to the Perth Ionity when I was going to charge at the Perth Tesla as the min cell temp was 13C. When I saw my consumption plumeting while the preconditioning was taking over 4kW I cancelled the preconditioning immediate;ly! Car charged at 96kW, so the battery would need to be a fair bit colder to necessitate preconditioning, I think.

Last winter I visited a Tesla site without preconditioning and only received around 45kw. With preconditioning I always achieve 97 ish

​@@stephengowler5360 Has never made a difference for me. Though today I was charging at 45kwh (a first) but that was due to a Tesla charging next to me splitting the rate between us. Maybe that's what happened in your case too?

I’m glad you’ve finally got a result with this. Gave them the kick up the butt they needed. I had to write to the CEO of Kia UK to get one of my problems on my EV6 sorted a while back. We should not have to do any of this.

Great I could not locate you CTV news story, how is your EV9 operating since the part replacement? There have been some EV9 owners waiting longer than you have for the part but as we must realize “the squeaky wheel gets the oil”!

The 3d view camera always comes with the GT Line S top trim. Same as on EV6 as far as i’ve seen.

Such a shame - I think around £2K-£3K more than we were expecting but also it seems with some of the tech removed that excited us in the Korean reviews. I hope that's just a slip-up on the UK website.

Congratulations! At this stage Tesla chargers are still missing from built in Navigation Maps so it’s still a pain. Hopefully the fact that Hyundai Group has done a deal with Tesla in US and also the fact that Tesla chargers will appear on Hyundai Group maps in the US from early 2025 is a sign that we get all of the open chargers added in the EU in 2025. In the meantime the best you can do is to add a nearby DC charger as a stop off point into your route in the Kia Nav so hopefully the battery pre-condition will work so that you can get maximum charging speed. One day we can hope this will all be perfect…

@@evodessey I'm still waiting for the drops in battery costs to have a significant impact on the EV market. This won't be cheap enough to boost sales of new EVs unfortunately. Without the lease market, new EV sales are really struggling in the UK because the costs are too high.

@@evodessey We were led to believe it would be c. €22,000 which is about £18,500. So yes, £23,495 is a considerable £5K mark up. Very disappointing.

Could well be where the Kia EV2 ends up hopefully
