You are correct. We live in self-entitled, narcissistic times. If it offends someone, like a child they throw a tantrum until the grown-ups acquiesce. Turning off the channel is too difficult for these adult children. They want their way imposed on everyone else. I am glad you guys did this. You also seem like throughly lovable characters yourselves, and would be lots of fun to hang with. As for watching full episodes of Married with Children, there are a few stations in my area that air them. GET TV is one. Check out your own cable listings for reruns. I'm sure you'll find it, because this show ran for about 11 years and was very popular.
@@markcainyourfriendinthecar3387 It aired in the beginning of 1987, but you get my point about the technology being way different back in that time. Cable TV was not a staple in every household in the 80s. When I said five, that was not meant literally five. I was using that as an example to compare to today's Technologies of the hundreds and hundreds of channels that we have available to us at the touch of a button.
See people, there was a time when people didn’t complain to others or to social media if they were insulted. They simply responded “well fuck you too” and went on with their day.
One of the best shows ever!! It ran for 11 years. You can probably stream it somewhere, but they have the complete set at Walmart. The basic premise of the show is; he was a high school football star (the high point in his life was scoring four touchdowns in one game at Polk High), who married a very easy girl after graduation. He never realized his dreams. He has a lazy/selfish wife, and two loser kids (the girls a tramp and the boy couldn't score to save his life). He sells cheap women's shoes for a living and he basically hates his life.
Kids turn out to be NOT losers I disagree, although Bud in didnt get any s e x, at a lateter point he did and he was distintend to win but he thought of family first. Dont forget when Kelly fixes the workbench when Al can not !
Pill Cosby I think you are mistaken about Bush taking it off the air. It ran until it was cancelled by Fox in 1997. Well in to the Clinton administration. After 11 seasons it had just simply run its course.
Pill Cosby I’m not going to argue with someone who is obviously wrong. Clear channel had nothing to do with this show....ever. It was NEVER taken off the air from its inception until its cancellation in 1997. There was a very short lived boycott that led to a ratings boost, but the Bushes never had it taken off the air nor did they own Clear Channel radio media. Ever.
My whole childhood revolves around this show. It ran for many years and wasn't on cable, it was on prime-time television. The early years started a little less offensive, but it progressed quickly. It ran from 1987 to 1997, and for a show like this, that is a very long time. If you need something to binge watch, you can't go wrong with this. Some incredible one liners that I still hear used today.
I watched the show every week! It was in the line up of shows on the then new network Fox. Al Bundy and the entire cast were hysterical to watch! No one was offended back then but today this would be a no-go type of comedy. I sure miss anything goes comedy! One day it will return.
There were plenty of people who were offended back then, just as many as there are now, the only difference is now everyone has smartphones, Facebook, and Twitter to whine about what offends them.
I always loved it when Al insulted Marcy, Steve and Darcy couldn’t stop laughing each and every time behind her back 😂 this was the best show ever 💖 old childhood memories 😊
Along with "All In The Family", these were two of the funniest shows ever on TV and unfortunately, today, would fail because somebody would get offended.
Yes it was on regular t.v. shows like this and In Living Color wouldn't fly today and that's sad. The world is a sad place these days. I miss these shows terribly. You had freedom of speech back then.
Yet a lot of the casts of both shows went on to bigger and better things...

When you are no longer able to laugh at yourself what is left to laugh about? Bundy was the eternal optimist. He got up everyday knowing it could not get worse, was wrong and then did it again. We lost the ability to recognize humor from assaults on a person. Today the Left has destroyed all the fun.

Hey, Don't forget about the dad from "Psycho Dad!" (Al's favorite TV show!) 🤣 Who's that ridin' in the sun? Who's the man with an itchy gun? Who's the man who kills for fun? Psycho Dad! Psycho Dad! The Dad -- with an itchy gun -- but he loves his son! Killed his wife 'cause she weighed a ton! Psycho Dad!
This show was on regular tv. Fox I think. My family watched it religiously. Back then people laughed at each other and it was all in good fun. I believe In Living Color came on right after. Love the channel guys.
Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) was actually a high school & college football player & was good enough to get signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers but later cut. He is also a Black Belt in Brazilian Jujitsu . But to me the original insult dads were Archie Bunker (All In The Family ) & George Jefferson (The Jeffersons) from the 70's.
This was on the FOX network from April 5, 1987, to June 9, 1997 (I was around 17 to 27 years old as the show progressed), Christina Applegate and I are only about a year apart in age so she was relatable for me, the jokes were crude, people were rude, and some of the best things in the show were what people in the studio audience yelled out during the live taping of the show or what the dog says (yes the dog talks). What made this show work is that they didn't even try to be a normal pleasant suburban family, everyone was messed up in their own way and it just worked beautifully. I'm not sure where you can stream this show but the DVD's should still be available.
Al Bundy is a G.O.A.T. among all characters that has ever been on TV! I got my own piece of the two t-shirts he made famous! The white ”No ma’am” and the blue ”Polk High”. 😎👍🏼 I also have my own copy of the ”No ma’am contract”, hanging on my fridge. And if you like ”political incorrect” stuff, you should check out Ralphie May!
@Jay Anthony the screech police on twitter dude. They'd cry at the small tit jokes, the fat jokes, the bad wife jokes. Itd be a brave network who signed up a show like that today. I'd love it. Find anything funny I do 😉
Actually, Al (Ed O'neill) and Marcie (Amanda Bearse) detested each other off screen and well as on screen. Ms. Bearse was in fact a lesbian and feminist and when she married her partner in real life all cast members were invited to the wedding except O'neill and the actor that played to Bundy's son. Unfortunately, even today they have never burried the hatchet and neither one has anything good to say about the other.
I mean it happens. I mean everyone in life has those few people that they just detest. I still love Married with Children. It was probably the one show other then Survivor that my family just sat down at night as a family and watched together.
Back then changing the channel involved getting up, walking to the TV and turning a dial. Since the number of channels were extremely limited(5-10), you either: just sat there and watched whatever was on that channel you were on or just stop watching tv.
Justin & Staci, love your channel!!! This was absolutely one of my favorite shows. I lived in New York at the time and it was on network television, not cable.
I'm 38. I was watching this show with my dad when I was like 9 or 10. My mom HATED it. Al Bundy was one of the unsung heros of our generation. Loved the reaction. Keep up the good work

Lol I'm 40 and this was one of many of my favorite sitcoms, but yeah times were a bit different for entertainment back then. Married with Children was on Fox and it ran for awhile
Married With Children is still my favorite sitcom. The Bundy's have no filter and Al has a retort for everything! My only regret is that the show never ended the way the writers intended, but it's still a fantastic ride from start to finish.
it was one of the few shows that depicted well the dysfunction in a lot of low to middle income families and somehow made it funny. really it was "reality tv" before true reality tv.
@@jmmmnliberal8274 Originally, the writers wanted to end the show with Kelly's wedding. She was supposed to meet an actually decent guy that Al liked, and the finale would have been the ceremony itself.
The reason the show went off the air is because the show had run its course and because Ed O’Neal (Al Bundy) and Amanda Bearse (Marci/director) HATED each other. There’s even some vids out there on their feud.
Ran from 87-97 and was on Fox. Back when we only had like 3 channels and had to do a weird dance holding an antenna just right to pick up Fox. 🤣🤣🤣 greatest show ever!!!

This was from mid-85 to 90’s...love your channel
I watched it when I was younger and his humor is timeless, and I'm glad i watched this. I laughed so hard.
There are no Bad episodes of Married With Children.
Except the ones where Christina cut her hair short.
That one that was really a pilot for another show (about a father and son trying to marry rich women) and only had one scene with Al was a bad one.
@@glenerickson358 Or the six or so episodes where cousin Seven the kid joined the family. To their credit they realised very quickly he was a disaster so he was canned and never spoken about again.
@@ShanghaiGoat I was about to post that exact same thing. Seven was the lowest and definately worst point of the series. Thank god that we only had to suffer his pressence for about half of season 7.
The spin off attempts maybe.
It wasn't on cable, it was on over the air TV. We didn't have cable back in the day. So, rabbit-ears. Great show.
For us in Sweden, it was on cable.
it was on FOX and someone got offended and tried to get the show cancelled and that made the show more popular
@@Janusmannen Cable TV was common in 1987?
mac11380 we had cable then, yes.
Fox viewing stations? It was on after "In Living Color", before the Simpsons and then after whatever half hour thing they were trying to put between then (they tried plenty, the chris elliot show, Hermand head) The X Files was on. Must see Thursday with Friends and Seinfeld gets the nostalgic attention, but Fox's sunday night was the real MVP.
I was able to buy all of the seasons of this on DVD when FYE was going out of business. Best 40 bucks I ever spent!
LUCKY - My BestBuy was selling this at $50, still bought the damn thing!
Wonder when a BluRay collection will ever be made for this underrated gem...
FYE went out of business?
@@ColonelCarnage - They downsized a while back. My closest location closed about 3 years ago...
Bmanritchie oh ok I was going to say I was just in one three days ago
ColonelCarnage - Lucky you as well.
The second closest one in my state is a 45-min drive to an in-mall location. Not sure if still around though.
Thank you for posting this, it was nice to get a perspective from people in their 20's.
The show did have a lot of calls and letters from angry Karen's that wanted it canceled but the show went on until like you said. "It ran it's course".The actor that plays Al said it just wasn't fun anymore. Fun fact- The real issue was the conflict caused by the Marcy actor not inviting him to her lesbian wedding. The show was raw but that is what the creators wanted, The working title for the the pilot was "Not the Cosby's". LOL
Some lady DID complain after the episode"Her Cups Runneth Over"-but her protests only made the show more popular and the producers sent her flowers!
Yes, her name is Terry Rakolta and she's the wife of a US Ambassador. I guess she had lots of free time back in the day! 🤣
And because of her protests. The fox network was born with this show
@@CitizenPerkins People like her are actually what the song "Fortunate Son" is practically about
You are correct.
They have all the episodes on Hulu
Back when the show was running there was only like 5 television stations, and no remotes. We couldn't change the channel :-)
@@hawaiifiveohohthis came out in the 90s. Cable TV was around by then.
@@markcainyourfriendinthecar3387
It aired in the beginning of 1987, but you get my point about the technology being way different back in that time. Cable TV was not a staple in every household in the 80s.
When I said five, that was not meant literally five. I was using that as an example to compare to today's Technologies of the hundreds and hundreds of channels that we have available to us at the touch of a button.
@Elron still we had cable tv then too.
Married with children and Rosanne were bad ass sitcomes
Your channel just randomly popped up for me and Married With Children was the absolute best. Then and Now.
See people, there was a time when people didn’t complain to others or to social media if they were insulted. They simply responded “well fuck you too” and went on with their day.
Good to see young people watching Al Bundy. I am 64 years old and never missed a show. You can pick up the episodes on eBay pretty cheap. Thanks again
Kids turn out to be NOT losers
I disagree, although Bud in didnt get any s e x, at a lateter point he did and he was distintend to win but he thought of family first.
Dont forget when Kelly fixes the workbench when Al can not !
It's on HULU
Pill Cosby I think you are mistaken about Bush taking it off the air. It ran until it was cancelled by Fox in 1997. Well in to the Clinton administration. After 11 seasons it had just simply run its course.
Pill Cosby I’m not going to argue with someone who is obviously wrong. Clear channel had nothing to do with this show....ever. It was NEVER taken off the air from its inception until its cancellation in 1997. There was a very short lived boycott that led to a ratings boost, but the Bushes never had it taken off the air nor did they own Clear Channel radio media. Ever.
In the later episodes the kids changed a bit, Kelly turned out to be oddly smart and Bud (Grand Master B) started scoring all the time.
This is a classic show that New Zealanders loved and still does, I think it ran for 10 season's if not more, with love from New Zealand xxoo
There were complaints back then in the first season. It was in the newspapers. That only made the show shoot straight to the the top.
These two are TOO NICE for Al's humor. God bless you for your kind hearts, even when watching imaginary insults. =)
I'm 45, this was one of my favorite TV shows growing up.
Me too!!!
You guys show so much love. Keep it strong and stand by each other.
This was on FOX! By the way, one of the creators of Married With Children is a Black guy. AL's clap-back game was amazing!
His name is Michael G. Moye.
This would never air in today's sensitive audience
The re-runs are still on cable. I just checked and it is showing on LOGO.
1:41 That too funny
God no, but if you a doing a NCIS or any Crime Scene Show, you can take your pick of the 20 or so shows,
Yea this was seriously one of the best shows every made. Back when no one cared about political correctness. 😂
It was suddenly taken off but was very popular.
First time watching you two, and I've gotto say... very wholesome. Keep up the great work!
Yes it was on regular t.v. shows like this and In Living Color wouldn't fly today and that's sad. The world is a sad place these days. I miss these shows terribly. You had freedom of speech back then.
Humor is dead.
@Det Nine It plays on old show channels, to get residuals, it is about cash. Tell me which New, prime time, shows are anything but PC, empower misandrists, Global Warming, social engineering bullshit. Even the Viking shows do all this historically inaccurate, contrived, feminist junk. BATWOMAN! Come on!
@Jomama Yes. Good luck at College, work, in Court, at stores or businesses. Say what you want, the cnsequences are what is unconstitutional. You get that part? Coemward or not of you are Doxed or Fired or otherwise, THAT IS THE PROBLEM. I still say what I want, but to say we still have it is a misnomer.
Married With Children, Martin, Fresh Prince.
No matter how many times I watch these episodes and hear these jokes, I always end up with tears in my eyes.
Three of the world's manliest men: Al Bundy, Chuck Norris and John Wayne
Hey, Don't forget about the dad from "Psycho Dad!" (Al's favorite TV show!) 🤣
Who's that ridin' in the sun?
Who's the man with an itchy gun?
Who's the man who kills for fun?
Psycho Dad!
Psycho Dad!
The Dad -- with an itchy gun -- but he loves his son!
Killed his wife 'cause she weighed a ton!
Psycho Dad!
And Tim the toolman Taylor
Correct except for Chuck Norris, fuck that guy.
The Trinity of Manhood
And The Fonz!
Ah, back when people could insult each other, people found it funny and it didn't result in World War 3
Actually the show got so-so ratings in the early years, it was only when people started calling in with complaints that others started tuning in
Al was living the poor man's dream. Had him a whatever job, a big chested red head, and a sense of humor that kept himself entertained.
1987-1997. I loved watching this show when i was a kid. it wasnt on cable it was on regular Tv, on Fox to be exact. this show was awesome
Al Bundy is a G.O.A.T. among all characters that has ever been on TV!
I got my own piece of the two t-shirts he made famous!
The white ”No ma’am” and the blue ”Polk High”. 😎👍🏼
I also have my own copy of the ”No ma’am contract”, hanging on my fridge.

Ordinarily I just watch your vids... But this time! You Nailed it!
Y'all are amazing together, one of the best YT channels out there!
I actually found the entire series on dvd for like 5 bucks at walmart a few years back.
One of the funniest shows of all time
Married With Children's a classic.

If you do watch reruns, you will see Al took as much as he gave as he constantly reminds you he is Married With Children.
Back in the day the studio would tell you "IF offended change the channel"
Warning the following...
,,, may not be suitable for all audiences especially children
Back then changing the channel involved getting up, walking to the TV and turning a dial. Since the number of channels were extremely limited(5-10), you either: just sat there and watched whatever was on that channel you were on or just stop watching tv.
@@elgenetiamzon1062 Ironic that. Given that I watch less tv now than I did when there was more effort to watch it.

I'm in the age group that saw those episodes when they first came out. That was the funniest thing on TV back then.

How did the writers want it to end?
