Married with Children could still exist. Family Guy is way more offensive than this and is still on the air. I always hate comments about shows not being able to exist today. I call bullshit on that. Not everyone is going to like everything, so each group of people will get their shows on, including the very offensive.

In high school, we had general business and various types of home ec classes.
General business dealt with investing, loans, interest rates, and mor similar things.
Home ec classes were numerous. They were similar, but still different. They would deal with meal planning, grocery allotment, cooking, sewing, and many other varied home life skills.
General business was only 1 class that I think was mandatory.
Home ec had multiple classes and it was mandatory to take a minimum of 2 classes.

I am a Canadian viewer and Iive in Calgary Alberta and my wife is an AP mathematics teacher. The schools in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as parts of the Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut Territories, follow what is called the western Canadian protocol the personal finance unit is taught in the two main streams (AP & GE), Ontario and Québec have similar content. The Maritimes and British Columbia have similar finance units. My wife regularly brings in Intuit, revenue Canada and financial planners to her classroom. She has her students do their taxes and setup an investment account as part of the class. Canada as a rule has a two stream education system similar to Britain's A and O levels, oh yes the O and A levels include a financial unit as well. Just a bit of trivia, there used to be a grade 13 in parts of Canada, it was really just first year university or technical school depending on the stream. Cheers from Canada.

Like Staci Said. They should have a class called LIFE SKILLS where they teach things like making a budget, doing taxes, basic contracts like rental agreements and car loans. Cooking skills, sewing, basic first aid, etc. The things that EVERYONE will need to know in the read world. Require THIS instead of stuff like Chemistry or Calculus that the majority of people will NEVER use.

Yet this isn't the first time I've heard someone say they should teach finance in school. Since Ed was basically the star of the show he was able wield his star power and tell the producers that " He couldn't work with her " while I don't know if the show ever threatened to replace or fire Marcy it did make for some tense moments between the two actors.
