Ì had my BX for 6 years, put 850 hours on it and never took the loader off once. After watching your video I am glad I didn't. Have a great weekend Sam!

Wow! Here's the irony... the only reason I took the loader off in this video, was to repair the broken weld! Hahaha!!! 🤠👍

I only take my loader off once a year when the snow blower goes on. I guess I consider myself lucky as I’ve never had an issue with the hydraulics or the loader. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Mike.

Thanks Mike! I'm sure it definitely makes a difference the less frequently you take it off. I'm hoping I won't have to do it as much now that I have a ZTR 🤠👍

Go to a local farm store and buy you some horse mats and lay on your floor so you don’t mess up your concrete. I haven’t had the trouble with the hydraulic system on both the BX I’ve owned, And I take the loader on and off a lot . I don’t lift the front wheels off the ground when I take the loader off. I set the bucket flat and roll it forward till I see upper arms move back then release the locks, let bucket go flat, then back out. Not bragging, but I have almost 900 hours in the last three years with the BX. Just saying. I love the BX’s. Keep up the good work!!!😁

The first time I took my loader off was my 50hr service , well the spot I picked on the ground got soft after it started to rain and the kick stand sunk! Now when I take off the loader and it's outside the barn I put a piece of plywood underneath it, that was I big pain to get it back up and back on the bx!

Wow! I know what you must ha e gone through to get that back on. My situation involved lots of blocking and 3 car jacks to get it off so I could try again. Hard lessons to learn. I hope this helps someone avoid that situation 🤠👍

Well, lots of learning just occurred for me. I have a BX23S coming, should be delivered in 2 weeks. I've watched and learned from your videos for various tips and tricks but this one was a game changer. My wife told me to hold on to an extra thousand bucks because, "You don't know what else you might need or what might crop up because of this tractor." Looks like she was right. I'm going to need some kitty litter for the oil spills and a welder for just about everything else. I only have two acres and most of it is woods (hope to make a lot more of it lawn). So my problems (knock on wood) should be of smaller scope than yours. Wish me luck. Praying for you, brother. Adversity builds character.

Thank you so much for the comment! Don't let this be a deterrent from enjoying your new BX. Just be very careful when you need to take that loader off and put it back on. It's really what I said, "the best and the worst" and as long as you do it correctly, it will only be the best 🤠👍

I've had my Kubota BX2680 for a couple years and haven't had any of those loader issues....some of those issues are caused from operator error and not keeping stuff lubricated and clean...those couplers leak, every hydraulic coupler leaks....if you put them together dirty, they'll leak as debris gets into the couplers and keeps them from opening and closing properly causing the leaks....the loader install and removal s very straight forward, you gotta pay attention to what you are doing, every loader is like that. If you don't pay attention you'll get stuff off level and have a heck of a time getting the loader back on, especially if you've had it off a while and its settled....you can hook the hydraulics up when you get the tractor close enough and be able to power the loader back into the right position, which you'll most likely need to do if it hasn't been on the tractor for a while....then you can drive in the rest of the way and reattach the loader.
The problem you'll quickly find is the loader don't have very much lift capacity, that's the biggest complaint. The problem I have is my pallet forks are not for the sub-compact tractor, they're for a larger tractor so I lost even more lift capacity as a result...so be careful what you get that goes on the front end loader for attachments, get them light as possible.
The BX23S will give you much more backhoe issues LOL....not really, they are supposed to be very easy to remove and install as well.....I didn't get the backhoe model as I wanted the larger engine for PTO implement usage as I don't really have enough use for a backhoe....and if I need one I know a guy that has a mini excavator LOL.
You'll love the BX23S. If you watch Jon's channel A Ritter Bit Will Do, he's got the BX23S, he does all sorts of stuff with his. He does a lot of snow removal as he has a snow blower and a cab on his.

@@TheNovaNorm No problem. The Kubota BX2680 is my first tractor, way above the regular old lawn and garden tractors I've had in the past....pretty big learning experience for myself.

Well, as you know from previous comments, my tractor is an RK24, that I've had 4 years. I wanted it to mow with, and 'pull' things with. Isn't that what you do with a tractor, pull things? I asked them if I could buy it without the loader. They said no, it comes with the tractor! WELL, I'm certainly glad it did. I don't use the loader EVERY time I use the tractor, but I use it A LOT! So, as I said, for mowing and 'pulling' (the box blade, trailer, bush hog, tiller, and pulling small trees, yeah I've pulled a lot), i don't need that loader. Get it off of there and out of the way! Yeah, easier said than done. I probably took it off 3 times that first summer. That was before I built my garage. Yeah, the drive wasn't always perfectly flat and level. Ugh, you're right, what a pain to get back on! My kickstands aren't quite like yours. I have never bent or broke anything on mine, BUT I HAVE had it crooked, every which way, and actually given up on it til the next day, and then struggled again! Since those early days, I have found that just taking the bucket off, seems to work most of the time! I think I have only taken the entire loader off once since i built the garage. Even on the smooth, level garage floor, as you said, things HAVE to be perfectly aligned!
I'll be using mine this afternoon (with forks) to place railroad ties alnog the road to keep people from tearing up my yard to view the eclipse on Monday!
BTW, love the new opening and closing!
Keep doin stuff! Love the videos!

Thank you so much! It seems no matter what machine a person has, there are always some challenges. I do know one thing. We are fortunate to be able to afford owning a tractor and the good far outweighs the bad. I know from experience how to avoid the shortcomings of my machine and I hope this video helps someone else to avoid them too! 🤠👍

I've had the loader off a grand total of once - to put in those shims - didn't park it on the level, so had a time of it putting it back on...so check that box lol. What has happened though is the stock grill side arm - the one that rides closest to the loader is off somewhat, so it can catch the kickstand pin that points inward to the tractor body and it's bent that from perpendicular, workaround was to take a big pipe wrench to that side arm to bend it back into place. Didn't know those through-hole adjustment bolts were such a weak spot - thanks for the vid!

Thank you for the comment. I've seen several videos on how easy it is to take the loader off and put it back on, and yes, as long as it's done perfectly, it is super easy. Hope this video helps some people avoid the struggles you and I have experienced 🤠👍

I took my loader off the first time in the grass. That was a nightmare! The second time I took it off in my shop. That was of a nightmare because the concrete was too smooth! lol I have it down now and the do's and don'ts. When you have property that you want to maintain you definitely need a few other trades somewhat under your belt or you would spend a fortune. I don't know how you haven't caught one of the levers on the loader main frame! I don't like that at all. I would somehow pull one out then tear my loader clear off the tractor! I have to take a pin completely out on both sides on mine thank God. It's only going to get harder as we get older, something to look forward to! lol

You said it! It has to be done perfectly or you're in for a bad day. I would some day like a loader machine where I don't have to take it off. The irony is, I took it off in this video just to repair it. Didn't realize I'd be in for all that! 🤠👍

Hi Sam, i just looked at my loader bolts and they are different than yours. Mine are welded below the bracket. Seems stronger, maybe it was updated as my loader is a 2023. Either way great vid as usual.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  8 місяців тому +1

Thank you! That would be a stronger design. The pressure from the kickstand would be pushing into the loader frame instead of out of the top. On mine, the weld is the only thing that holds it. If they break again... or when... I'll look at putting them underneath like you described 🤠👍
