  • The Tucson N-Line gets some changes from Hyundai for 2024. On the outside you will discover 19in wheels, a unique front fascia and sport exhaust. On the inside you will be greeted by sport seats, and (2) 10.25in infotainment screens. Under the hood is a 1.6L turbocharged inline-4 hybrid pared to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson N-Line a BETTER compact SUV than a Honda CR-V Sport?

    Joe, in the Trunk, underneath the repositionable floorboard, where you said you had room for apples and it had a removable panel (frisby)... that area is actually designed like that to place the optional retractable cargo cover there, underneath the floorboard if you need the cargo area uptop without the cargo cover getting in the way, or having to remove it from the vehicle completely as with other SUVs.
    Its a neat feature.

    Bought one last week in Red (N line) and traded, ready, my 22 Palisade Calligraphy for it and got money back, honest! So we had no use for a larger Pally anymore, I looked at the new Santa Fe (owned a 2020) and while they are nice it was still too big. Opted for this and a month in I am thrilled with it. However, I must say this is the 7th Hyundai in our family and believe in the brand, but also fortunate to not to have bought those with recuring issues like some. Wifes 2023 Sonata hybrid convinced me this was a better way to go.

  • @E_Crypto

    The Tucson Hybrid is awesome. The only POTENTIAL issue is the 1.6L turbocharged engine. That engine is small; and a way how Hyundai is able to keep the price so low, considering the interior is better than many luxury vehicles. To some degree, the car will be reliant on a turbo (which forces more air into the smaller engine) so it can perform like a bigger engine. There’s nothing wrong with a turbo, but on a long enough timeline, chances are you'll encounter an issue with a turbo as opposed to installing a more powerful engine. The reliability of modern turbos is hard to determine, but the people that this spec closely are those that buy used or try to hold for the life of the vehicle. Do your own research and see if it’s right for you.

    • @wolfshanze5980

      An old wives tale without basis in reality... people want a 1984 Corvette with a Turbo, but are scared to buy a 2024 SUV with a Turbo because it won't last.
      As with ANY engine, a well-maintained engine is far more important than non-aspirated vs Turbo engine.
      I'd take a well maintained Turbo over a poorly maintained NA any day of the week.

    In comparing the Tucson and CRV, the Tucson outperforms the CRV in almost every category EXCEPT the engine. The Tucson's smaller 1.6L turbocharged engine is likely to work much harder, which raises concerns about its long-term reliability compared to the CRV Hybrid's more robust 2.0L engine. After about 10 years, the longevity of the Tucson's turbo, especially depending on your driving habits and maintenance, might not hold up as well as the CRV’s larger engine.
    Personally, I like both cars for different reasons. If you’re planning to lease or keep the car for about 5-7 years, the Tucson might be the better choice due to its superior features and performance. However, if you're looking to hold for longer timeframe, say beyond 7 years, I'd lean towards the CRV for its likely better long-term reliability.

    • @deman19901
      @deman19901 Місяць тому +1

      Honda's reliability isn't what it used to be,.As for turbo engines, Hyundai's turbo engines can't be worse than Honda's Turbo's in the previos generation CRV and Civics. I'll take the Tuscon's turbo over the Honda's 2.0 for the extra power alone.

    • @E_Crypto
      @E_Crypto Місяць тому

      Honda CRV hybrid doesn’t have a turbo. Tucson has a turbo to compensate for the small/weaker engine. Personally, I don’t like any engines under 2.5L, but the Tucson has a 1.5L engine, which will require more RPM (work harder) to match a 2.0L engine in the CRV, thus chances it will have complications earlier. Previous generations don’t matter, Honda is reliable. And I’d say that Hyundai has improved their reliability dramatically. I like the Tucson, but if the car is a long term hold, chances are you’ll need to replace a turbo on a Tucson rather than an engine on a CRV. I’m impartial, don’t own either vehicle but tested both.

    • @deman19901
      @deman19901 Місяць тому

      @@E_Crypto I see that reading comprehension is not your strong suit. What part of last generation CRV do you not understand? My point is Honda's reliabilty is not what it used to be. The new CRV is missing too many features compared to the competitors.

      @E_Crypto Місяць тому

      What part of “previous generations don’t matter” didn’t you understand. You’re obviously a bitter Tucson owner, that doesn’t like my comment. Well, you didn’t buy a POS but a CRV is a better vehicle. Again, I don’t own either so I’m impartial. You just made a bad decision.
      Edit: you obviously don’t know anything about turbos and Hyundai added one to compensate for a garbage small engine. You probably saw all the tech and exterior features and was sold. It’s a good car but not going to last as long as a CRV even though you can’t justify why a Honda isn’t what it used to be. Anyways, I’m a Lexus owner. Have fun.
