One of my favorite Rock Groups of all time. Saw them rock this live at the University of Michigan (long ago). It rocks with a lot of truth. I still love listening to the Eagles. Thanks!
Back in the day when this came out there was a rumor that this song was written about 1 lady on a major network based in L.A. and the description in the song about a Bubble headed bleached blond was a accurate description of her appearance as well as a very accurate description of the media's need for reporting trash news, Great song to say the least.
You did this tune last year and I'm glad you re-issued it today. Don Henley is a Master Lyricist. From his work in Eagles and collaborations with several other artist and his hugely successful solo career he has a special place in Classic Rock History. Thanks again.
The first guitar solo was done by Joe Walsh (his Eagles bandmate). The second was done by Steve Lukather (of the band Toto). Drums were done by Jeff Pocaro (also of Toto). Steve Pocaro (also of Toto) provided the keyboards. The song's co-writer Danny Kortchmar played the rhythm guitar. And the bass was done by another Eagles bandmate, Timothy B. Schmit. Roger Linn, inventor of the Linn LM-1, provided the special effects (the teletype sounds).
Ahh that’s right, was trying to remember the name of that little no name band I seen at a hole in the wall bar many moons ago. Those little dudes wonder what they got up to after that night? Ha.
Little note on Radar Love. I graduated hs near the time it came out. I'm 1.5 years from 70 years old now. At the time the speed limit was 55 max on the x way. Older follk back then were known for staying under the posted limit. Except when Radar Love was on the am radio. Olders were getting pulled over for 90+ and let go with a warning. Turns out the sound of the tires driving over the cracks between the fairly new concrete slabs were making a slap sound that (subconsciously) matched the beat of the music. We young ones got all the tickets.
Have you seen modern media news lately? It has not changed at all. If you wish to become a TV news anchor, -look good and never stray away from the teleprompter! It's like giving head, EYE CONTACT and ignore that GAG reflex!
Great beat great lyrics and great vocalist. Don was the Superstar of the Eagles with that unusual voice. Albums full of hits, and the ones you didn't previously hear, you loved. The guitars in this are crazy good. Terrific reaction, as always, because you get to the facts fast. Love your channel, keep up these 'young' classics, there are so many. ☮️to all.
The second part of the second verse is actually based on true events that a friend of don's who worked at the LA Times told him about what went on in the newsroom when regan was shot in 1981.
I was 3 when this came out. My dad has picture of me jamming out to it - you can see a clip of the music video in the background on the big ass box tv we had lol. I loved this song and Roxanne by the Police (although back then in my innocent mind, I thought the song Roxanne was about a traffic light, not prostitution lol).
The comic relief in this video might be some much needed levity considering what he's talking about. Don't let it distract you from those killer guitar solos and that beat tho.
OK Great song ! This is a Canadian fan video :) Well done guys by the way:) The news footage you see is from Global TV , a national broadcast company here in Canada. That aside MAN check out Don Henley actual videos or better yet check out the Iconic group Eagles, witch he was part of and man you will not be disappointed good Sir :) ) Peace and Love from Canada eh :) sorry :)
"Dirty Laundry" - Don Henley I make my livin' off the evenin' news Just give me somethin', somethin' I can use People love it when you lose They love dirty laundry Well, I coulda' been an actor, but I wound up here I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear Come and whisper in my ear Give us dirty laundry Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em all around We got the bubble-headed bleached-blonde, comes on at five She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye It's interesting when people die Give us dirty laundry Can we film the operation? Is the head dead yet? You know, the boys in the newsroom got a running bet Get the widow on the set! We need dirty laundry You don't really need to find out what's goin' on You don't really wanna know just how far it's gone Just leave well enough alone Eat your dirty laundry Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're stiff Kick 'em all around Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down Kick 'em when they're stiff Kick 'em all around) Dirty little secrets, dirty little lies We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie We love to cut you down to size We love dirty laundry We can do "The Innuendo", we can dance and sing When it's said and done, we haven't told you a thing We all know that crap is king Give us dirty laundry! Kick 'em when they're up Kick 'em when they're down........
While I kinda like your crap is king line, I believe it probably was "craft is king" because in those days journalists frequently referred to years of work they put in honing their craft (of writing). It was all a bit pretentious.
2:14 the song refers to an actual live tv special in which science did some crazy ass medical shit to a human head. Live TV. My parents wouldn't let me watch but my dad was interested. Afterwards he was appalled.
Here is a story about the first time you attempted to do this song... Unknown to you it was a "Cover" not Henley..... It was immediate that comments let you know so you removed it from your channel... BUT, Not before I copied it... SO... I may have the only copy of your first reaction to the cover. You like the real thing much better. So Do I.
Honestly, even as an 80s kid, I dislike the sound of this song. It's just too...80s I guess. The freaking lyrics are hilarious though. Scathing. He's an amazing song writer.
Hello JMBoy, I thought I'd suggest another song by a group that I believe you've reacted to before and seemed to enjoy their tunes. So, if interested give this one a listen. "Bee Gees -Nights On Broadway (Live 1975)" (by the channel: Ichnos71live) As always, I really enjoyed rocking with you and thanks for sharing.
Great beat great lyrics and great vocalist. Don was the Superstar of the Eagles with that unusual voice. Albums full of hits, and the ones you didn't previously hear, you loved. Henley's assessment of the media is more relevant today than when he did this song. Lies about everything and everybody are the standard today.
I heard this on the radio the other day I thought the same thing
Yeah me too... just goes to show nothing ever really changes, it just gets worse. Brilliant song good music stands the text if time.
True that
@@cmterbusheverybody knows crap in king
The plane crash was real and he did order a hooker(who happened 2 be a minor) who overdosed! This was early MTV!!!
Great song that’s more relevant now than when Don did it
Exactly what I was thinking.
Guess we shoulda listened, huh?
All She Wants to Do Is Dance is another wickedly satiric song of Henleys
“Get the widow on the set” always stood out for me. Vultures. And Liars. Great lyrics to a great beat!!!
Same thing with the boys in the newsroom got a running bet. To be a fly on the wall in a media office.
Love this song! Probably more relevant now than 35 yrs ago!
Saw Henley live back in the day, killed this song. Guitar player was unbelievable. Great show .
I’m glad my father exposed me to great music. He raised us as a single parent. He was fun

This one is going to get some serious attention... as it should.
That's Joe Walsh on the first guitar solo and Steve Lukather (Toto) on the second solo and Timothy B. Schmidt on bass.
The first guitar solo was done by Joe Walsh (his Eagles bandmate). The second was done by Steve Lukather (of the band Toto). Drums were done by Jeff Pocaro (also of Toto). Ty🤩 I've always wonder wondered. Tmi: my forever crush on Joe😍and loved Toto on the radio, knew every lyric.
Henley had a phenomenal solo career.
That's one of my favorite songs. I song the hole thing I know it by heart.
As a newspaper journalist, I knew lots of on-air personalities. ... I loved this song. 😏
Tellin' it EXACTLY like it is !
Takes me back to my highschool days.
Great song. I'm shocked he hasn't blocked it
Check out the recent live...
The original video is!
Forgot how good this song is. Better and more true than ever ☮️
I'm very happy to say I have seen every member playing in this song play LIVE a few times.
Great choice! That’s the late great drummer Jeff Porcaro “ The Master of the Groove” on drums. Love the channel keep ‘em coming.
he was Huge in 80's as a solo artist. Of course he was also in that lil band called The Eagles.
Yeah that one.😂😂
Ahh that’s right, was trying to remember the name of that little no name band I seen at a hole in the wall bar many moons ago. Those little dudes wonder what they got up to after that night? Ha.
I loved the eighties ❤️ I was aged five to fourteen. The most impressionable years.
The 80’s were my era!! I lived it !! So much fun and great times and music !!
Another killer tune courtesy the Toto machine.
One of my faves of his - this one and "Boys of Summer". The live version is a fun video to watch where he dedicates it to Rupert Murdoch. lol
Joe Walsh on the first guitar solo and Steve Lukather on the second guitar solo (after the key change). GUNS!

GOOD one!
Haha one of the best songs ever written! 😎😋
17,000 Subs with Mr. Henley... Cool

I was in Jr. High when this came out. Damn...full circle
Love this song love the beat♥️🎶🎹🥁🎧
Listen to Don Henley "Down at the Sunset Grill". Also a great song by Henley.
Jeff Porcaro was simply amazing!
Wow! LOL. the memories this brings back!! Saturday night dirt road adventures and Jack & coke mixed roadside watching the stars. Good times.
Most of the hearing loss I live with today, was due to this song.
(And I would do it all again!)
😂
Why no rapper hasn't done a strait up cover to this is beyond me. 💯 This is an obvious one.
I am sooo with you on this.
Don Henley Dosen't allow samples.
@@rockooch Well THATS bullshit in 2024! 💯
This is a great one!!!!! 😊 Facts. 😊
Looks like you are having N.Y. weather today in Houston. Nice we can share more than just great music. Enjoy your day.
Another great tune

America is big on dirty laundry. Lot of Canadian journalists in there too
Love this song, but when I think of it I think of the skating rink. They use to play certain songs and this is one of them when I was a kid.
"That's all for now. For updates on these and other important stories, be sure to tune for our 11pm broadcast".
The comic relief in this video might be some much needed levity considering what he's talking about. Don't let it distract you from those killer guitar solos and that beat tho.
❤
Check out Those Shoes by the Eagles, I recommend live at the Forum.
I first had you do "The Garden Of Allah" with Henley. Your subs may want to watch that in your playlist.
The bubble headed bleach blonde comes on at 5. She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye. It's interesting when people die
😎
Joe Walsh does the first guitar solo and Steve Lukather from Toto does the second solo.
love the lyrics, the music and the vocal. Would you believe Britny Spears tried to cover it?
😱🤯🤯

There never was an official video made for this song. The video here is a parody done by a GLOBAL NEWS, a local Canadian news station.
Some people say there's an official video of Don Henley in a cave
"Dirty Laundry" - Don Henley
I make my livin' off the evenin' news
Just give me somethin', somethin' I can use
People love it when you lose
They love dirty laundry
Well, I coulda' been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em all around
We got the bubble-headed bleached-blonde, comes on at five
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye
It's interesting when people die
Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation? Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry
You don't really need to find out what's goin' on
You don't really wanna know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around)
Dirty little secrets, dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do "The Innuendo", we can dance and sing
When it's said and done, we haven't told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down........

"BREAKING NEWS!!!!" 😂😂😂☘️💃💃🤑🤑🤑
Has a bit of a darker meaning today...
You should try Kid Rock we the people
Your subs should watch Eagles - "Get Over It" in your Playlist. Henley at his best live.
It does seem only bad news sells.
please do Led Zeppelin - What Is And What Should Never be
Here is a story about the first time you attempted to do this song... Unknown to you it was a "Cover" not Henley..... Organ anyone ?

I’ve been requesting this since 2019 to reactors who said they liked the Eagles.
You’re the first - thank you.
Gotta get back to dancing now… 💃🪩
