I like your interpretation of the lyrics. The poet Pete Brown said that this was inspired by an appartment he lived in, near a train station, with white rooms. He stayed there for some time, nearly locking himself in, trying to give up alcohol and drugs.
One of the greatest rock tracks of all time. Your interpretations of lyrics continue to surprise and impress me. You have become one of my favorite reaction channels.
Psychedelic rock and blues rock are the pinnacle of rock. Your growing appreciation leads me to belief your spirit must have been around, somehow, in the late 60’s.
I have 4 sibs. The eldest is 9 yrs my senior. I was born in 1957. She listened to Vanilla Fudge, Cream, Stones and more. My whole family, including my parents, were music junkies. ❤
Thanks I was just trying to remember if they were a supergroup but I don’t remember from which bands. I haven’t heard this in decades and I marvel at how evident it is: impeccable talented experienced musicians knew EXACTLY what they were doing at every moment ✊🏽
One of Rock's early supergroups. Apparently this song uses a lot of cryptic metaphors to diacuss depression. The building intensity of Clapton's guitar gets me every time. If you haven't reacted to the song "Sunshine of Your Love," you must!
Cream was a major part of the British Invasion of the 60s. They were a little later than the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks and the Who, but only by a year or two.
Not really! Rather, the Hollies, Manfred Mann, Herman's Hermits, Peter and Gordon, the Animals, the Zombies, the Yardbirds, Gerry & the Pacemakers, the Spencer Davis Group, Them, the Pretty Things, Small Faces, etc.
You should check the Yardbirds, a band that Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck were members of . The songs Evil Hearted You , So Sad, Over Under Sideways Upside Down, Good Morining Little School Girl, I ain't done Wrong
Don't forget...Jimmy Page was also a member of The Yardbirds. Led Zeppelin was formed to fulfill some contractual obligations of The Yardbirds. LZ was originally called "The New Yardbirds" so they could finish an already scheduled tour.
Bruce is usually the third guy mentioned from this group, but he was just as amazing as the others. His vocals, lyrics and obviously his bass were irreplaceable. There's no Cream without Jack Bruce, that's for sure.
White room is the best psychedelic song of all time. About depression for me and the station is your mind but the trains are the thoughts running through your mind and are very dark
the writer of the song lived in a flat with an all white room with black curtains which overlooked the train station. everything else you pretty much were on point.
Cruising Pacific Coast Hwy with friends getting baked in my red 57 Chevy Nomad cranking CREAM on the 8-Track. The Good Old Days. Great memories music can inspire.
"Psychedelic Rock Might Be My Favorite".... I smile knowing I turned you on to..."And My Soul's, Been Psychedelasized"... Chamber Brothers - Time Has Come Today. Your number 41. There was a reason I wanted your education into this genre to start with a classic.
JM always an impeccable music react! Yardbirds, Cream, D and D, solo, stand ins, etc....what can we mere set of ears say about Clap!!?? Btw, JM, Clap put out a fantastic Christmas album a few years back. Get it for yourself in the days ahead...It is perfectly different just like Eric and makes me remember Beck too. Good health and holidays ahead to all great JMB fans!
Another EC classic. I played this album everyday on my technics turntable with a diamond needle, through my pioneer amp to my giant Bose speakers. Nowadays you swipe your phone.🤷♀️
Part of the thing about 60s lyrics is they often were written under influence of lsd so trippy disjointed words with no clear message. Or left for people to pick their own interpretation.
I still have the original 45 rpm single on Atco records. It was the version they played on Top 40 radio and had the entire third verse cut out. It's amazing the way they butchered records back then to fit radio formats.
I forgot how good Cream was. Three of the best musicians in one band (that's probably why it couldn't last - egos). The Jimi Hendrix Experience is the only other comparable group I can think of. For me, it was the drums and the vocal performance that really got me. Ginger Baker was a crazy guy but a great drummer just like Keith Moon who I also like.
So you like psychedelic songs. 8 Miles High by The Byrds And Iron Butterfly's most psychedelic song Butterfly Bleu The 23 min live version. In that you'll hear them use a talkbox which predates Peter Frampton. It was a performance on live television where they went commercial free to get the whole song in without interruption. 🤠🐂
How’d you like that wah-wah pedal? 😆 (aren’t words that sound like what they ARE awesome?)😁 This came out when I was in middle school and my friends and I were NUTS about this album 😎
I've got a❓for you, JM. Now that you've had the pleasure of listening to them both, which Cream song do you like best?...White Room or Sunshine of your Love?
To be a young teenager in the 60s -70s music was priceless. We had the greatest Classic Rock ever created.
and those long haired boys with their skinny hips in tight jeans! Yeah, babee.
Amen brother. I was born in 1956 & can't agree with you more.
"Bliss it was in that dawn to be alive, but to be young was very Heaven!"
That was a great time for many reasons. So glad I got to grow up during that time.
I'm with ya there, bro. We were spoiled...for sure.
Clapton's the last man standing. RIP Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce.
Yep, though I didn't need reminding since it hurts. Good health to you and all aboard.
Likewise lyricist Pete Brown.
All were bad asses. What a great trio.
There is a lot of Beat poetry in how Jack Bruce renders this song.
@@nickrizzi4927 There is ALWAYS some Fool that will focus on death in every video. I feel sorry for them.

I'm so grateful I had the privilege to grow up with this music The 60's,70's, 80's and some 90's was the bomb!! Peace!
Yup best time no fake crap just talent
Yup and long versions not the garbage short top 40 AM Radio that exists now...
Some 6 and 8 min and 12 + min until corporate radio ruined music
Think it's a drug trip
Psychedelic rock! Oh, how i miss the 60's! Eric Clapton is the greatest! I'm fortunate to have grown up in this magical era. ✨️

great song- great band- welcome to my world growing up
Welcome to 60s Psychedelia!
A real Masterpiece. 🎶🎶👍
Great album. Sounds even better when you're high.
Super baked right now.
But we always was …..🥴
"where the shadows run from themselves"
Clapton's touch on the Wah Wah peddle was magnificent on this track.
While I would never condone substance abuse, it certainly enhances the experience of listening to this song 🤣
Totally agree!
Wow London’s first rock/psychedelic supergroup! Great song, they only a had a few years together but produced some timeless classics. Great analysis 😊
Thanks I was just trying to remember if they were a supergroup but I don’t remember from which bands.

One of many favorites ❤
The era that began the march of the greatest guitar players to ever walk this earth!
Bravo! Great reaction video. You didn't stop the music to comment over it.
Just when you thought the song was fading out it gives you that last drop!
Baker's drumming is a killer on this. I like it better than the iconic Sunshine of Your Love.

Clapton, Bruce, and Baker. C-R-E-A-M. What a band.
Saw them on a couple of different tours. Farewell Tour Concert blew my mind! Gratifying that their music is still being enjoyed. Love your reviews.
Pete Brown was detoxing in a hotel near a train station in London when he wrote this.
I've always love JAck Bruce's vocals.
Such a great voice. He got overshadowed by Baker and Clapton when it comes to attention unfortunately.
Psychedelic rock has so many great songs. All of Creams whole albums are worth the listen, along with everything Hendrix touched, Beatles and Byrds.
Even The Temptations had some great psychedelic songs thanks to Norman Whitfield.

Dude! Love your introspection on lyrics. Worth every moment of watching your reactions.
CREAM: The Original Psychedelic 60's Power Trio ❤️
Not just pyschedelic
What?...the 60's or the group?
This is the Clapton I fell in love with back in the day.
CREAM WAS BAD ASS TO THE BONE.. THE MUSIC MAN FOREVER..
I like it that you don't go for the ones that everyone else does.
Great freaking song! This is my fav Cream song ❤ I saw Clapton on his Slow Hand tour in the 70s.
This song has great lyrics.
Bruce is usually the third guy mentioned from this group, but he was just as amazing as the others. His vocals, lyrics and obviously his bass were irreplaceable. There's no Cream without Jack Bruce, that's for sure.
He was the most talented...innovative bass player, singer, composer, great piano player...
Love this song , and you definitely 'clicked; with it !
Rock In Peace Jack and Ginger.
The late Greats Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker.. Amen
Love your channel❤️❤️❤️ thank you for listening to the entire songs.👍
Great one!
This era of music was the beginning of something I can't even begin to put into words... except true admiration ... I'm still waiting to exhale
Quality.
Grew up with Cream. Clapton's still payin' the bills. Wa Wa.
The song is a masterpiece!
RIP Ginger and Jack
White room is the best psychedelic song of all time. About depression for me and the station is your mind but the trains are the thoughts running through your mind and are very dark
Great reaction, another power trio, all of them very talented musicians but they also each had big egos...and why they probably broke up
the writer of the song lived in a flat with an all white room with black curtains which overlooked the train station. everything else you pretty much were on point.
Great song, great reaction! Thanks!
I'm 74 now, this is the music that shaped my life. This and LSD.
LOTS AND LOTS OF LSD !!😮 😅 😂 (Still waiting for the FLASHBACKS they promised. )
ME TOO!
Only three guys, imagine that
Definitely a wah-wah pedal. Great reaction.
Supergroup
The Cream of the crop 😊✌️
Check out the movie, Beware of Mr. Baker (it's on UA-cam) he was the drummer for Cream. It's great! RIP Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce.
'White' is a nickname for cocaine. The song is about Clapton's relationship with cocaine.
Or maybe not.
I smile watching your education into Classic Rock for the past two years. Soon you can teach a course on the who is who of the greatest groups. Cool

Eric showing out on the Wah Wah. As a new fan of Psychedelic Rock you would also like Jefferson Airplane's "She Has Funny Cars" and "Volunteers".
All Timer Vibe , bro .
Undeniable ...
You’ll like “Tales of Brave Ulysses” ✌️
all time classic! dbl ♥
Interesting interpretation of the lyrics. Mine is fairly different, but glad you lept into them.
Ginger Baker on drums. One of the greats!
For a great wah-wah solo listen to Jethro Tull's song, "We Used to Know" off of their album, 'Stand Up'...Martin Barre nails it...
omg......yes!!
Eric Clapton on lead guitar-great band

It just hit me how Eric's guitar playing resembles Terry Kath.
Clapton was already playing his style of guitar before Kath...
Never thought of that, but now that you mention it, YES!
Another EC classic. I played this album everyday on my technics turntable with a diamond needle, through my pioneer amp to my giant Bose speakers. Nowadays you swipe your phone.🤷♀️

Very poetic
his 'need' is his next hit
This is such a cool song.
Jack Bruce had some voice .Tales of Brave Ulysses is another good one .

The start, at 3:09 and 4:25 the time signature is 5/4
Took a while to copy that as a young boy🤯
Most of the music was in 4/4 at that time
A three piece band that rocked!
wow i think you have the happiest face i have ever seen lol
The end of the Joker movie with the city burning
So you like psychedelic songs.
8 Miles High by The Byrds

As to the lyrics, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...
Cream Reunion 2005, I prefer the reunion Cream.
I've got a❓for you, JM. Now that you've had the pleasure of listening to them both, which Cream song do you like best?...White Room or Sunshine of your Love?
