QUESTION: When using the history panel, is there a way to go in and delete a specific action without it undoing and having to re-add everything after that action? EXAMPLE: I add effects to a piece of audio, and do a couple of edits after that... just say I change my mind about the effect and want to change it without altering the edits I made after the effect was applied. IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO THIS IN ADOBE AUDITION CC?
Hi Tyrone. Unfortunately, it is not possible to do what you're asking. The best practice (in a similar scenario) would be to add effects via the Effects Rack and *only* process them at the end. This will allow you to continue to edit in the waveform view, and always hear your track through the effects, but they will be running in real-time/virtually until you (destructively) process them.
I just came across your channel as I was searching for audition but I have to say you have a gr8 knowledge about the whole adobe sweet . thanks for the gr8 content
Thank you! This was clear althought English is not my usual language :-) Would you have a tutorial of you interviewing someone ? And another one where you edit the content ? Again, thank you for your help.
I love this tutorial video. Liked it on the adobe channel, looked for it here too and liked it some more. Very impressed by the quality of your voice. How do I practice to get such a rich voice! It's beautiful Jason.
Hello Uwak. Thank you for the kind words. Voice timbre has a lot to do with genetics...but vocal exercises (to expand range, strengthen diaphragm) and lots of practice can certainly improve one's delivery (to make it smoother, more pleasant). I've been at it for (gulp) more than 30 years, so I've had a bit of practice :) Thank you again.
Great resource. Thanks! Strange though... the audio dips down at times and I have to adjust my volume to keep it the same... First one was at :49. Could be a glitch on UA-cam's side.
Hey Cal. Indeed, I had a listen, and not quite sure what happened in the export there...but yes, there's a dip in amplitude (which returns to normal shortly afterward). Sorry for that inconvenience. Thank you for watching tho!
Hi Jason, just wondering what the time limit for recording within Audition is...is there one or will it keep going until you run out of drive space? Thank you for another great tutorial
Hi Dean. I'm not aware of a time limit (any more)... there *are* some OS-level limitations with file sizes (like the old 4GB WAV limit) but I think that was in the 32-bit/FAT32 days. However, Multitrack View has always been able to record 'indefinitely'... so if you record via Multitrack you should be able to record until the disk space runs out...*not* that I would recommend that either, but you get the idea. In any case, I just created an audio file with over 1 hour of tone @ 192kHz with a total file size over 5.5GB, no problem. So it looks like you should be good to go.
Jason you answered my last question and I was surprised! thanks for putting energy on this! I have an idea for recommendation.. Is it possible to add a control that records what you scratch on the program monitor? It is wonderful to follow a bit with your pulse and would avoid cuting and editing the individual clips and make them match with the beat. I don't know if I was clear. Thanks again mate!
Hi Jason, thank you for the tutorial, it was really helpful! But I still have a problem (and I'm an audio noob I'm afraid). I want to record a podcast with two usb-mics on the same computer and I has proven to be rather difficult. I created an aggregate device with my two mics and set it as my input device. I obviously want one track for each mic and I was able to do that but the sound quality was really bad, you could hear a lot of static. And I don't know why! With other softwares my problem was always that you could hear one mic on the right and the other on the left ear, the sound quality was never the problem. Maybe you have a solution for me! Thank you so much in advance!
Hey Lena! Ok, so you've already figured out the aggregate device trick...but I've heard similar things (re: sound quality drop) from others who have a similar (2 USB mic) setup. My initial thought it that when creating that aggregate device, it's doing some kind of resampling and/or bit depth conversion which might be causing quality issues. You definitely want to be sure that all sample rates are consistent, that additional gain is *not* added via that Audio/Midi window (I'm guessing you're on MacOS) and double check that routing is correctly laid out (sometimes it is possible to actually feedback/repeat inputs/outputs which could lead to degradation in the input sound). Let me know (and if you have other details to share, post them here)
Hey Christopher. Absolutely. Might be easier to re-save as a new Template Session, and record new podcasts into it (or import them, whichever). Thanks for watching!
Hi Sandra. If you hover your mouse in the track controls area (in multitrack) and either (via a wheel mouse) scroll up/down or simply gesture up/down (with something like a magic mouse) it will adjust vertical height of your tracks. If you hover you mouse cursor in the timeline area (or in the horizontal portion bar, atop the multitrack view) and scroll/gesture, it will adjust vertical zoom level.
Hi Navanshu. If you're able to capture a snippet of 'just hum' (in the Spectral Frequency Display, using the Marquee selection tool), RtClk>Capture Noise Print, go into Effects>Noise Reduction (Process), select the entire file, and adjust the amount of reduction (which you may need to go to 100%). Set Spectral Decay to "0" and click OK. That should take care of it without destroying/harming the voice.
If you're recording voice/vocals only, no reason to record stereo (since it's only a single-channel signal to begin with). Not that you 'can't' record it in stereo, but then you'll just be feeding Left and Right with the same signal anyway.
The best tutorial i have come across
Thanks, Sayf!
Thanks for the tutorial it helped a lot. I'm new to podcast if your interviewing 2 people do they need headphones just like the host?

Thanks for watching, Parth. Should you have *any* Audition or CC questions, don't hesitate to ask :)
***** For sure will do . Thanks for uploading 👍
Great, great tutorial. Thank you so much for putting it together.
btw, your voice is incredible! Subscribed!
:) Thanks, Jose! :)

Well, that's a very specific ask; but it's an interesting idea. Worth submitting to the request list.

this was beyond helpful! thank you so much!
You're so very welcome, Felicia. Thanks for watching!
I'm guessing that I then can take that intro and drag into new podcasts? Thank you.

Jason Levine thank you for the clear and very informative tuts.
How did you widen the clips do see them better?

Got it! Tx
great tutorial
Many thanks, Shlomi! Glad you enjoyed this. More to come...
Hey, Jason, I have a question, how can I safely remove a hum which right over the dialogue like a hum of 400hz.
Jason Levine thanks a lot, you are the best
My pleasure!
This dude is awesome
Hello Jason! Why do you record on mono?
If you're recording voice/vocals only, no reason to record stereo (since it's only a single-channel signal to begin with). Not that you 'can't' record it in stereo, but then you'll just be feeding Left and Right with the same signal anyway.
how come my audition has no templates and how can I get them ?
Once again :
Thank you.
My pleasure, Gal. Thank you!
Cool......🤘
Thanks!
it starts in 0:00. You're welcome!
