    Hi Alex, I’m a new subscriber and found you on Tangerine Travels! I’ve been in Ensenada for a year now. I used Tangerine Travels as one of my resources. All the vids you’re doing now will be very helpful for those wanting to move to Mexico. Plus, many of these are still valid for me, and definitely for the Queretaro area, which I hope to visit at some point. You have good energy and information, so see you down the road!

      I found you through the Tangerinis as well! What's cool also is that you lived in Madrid and made the change to Mexico, and presently I'm in Madrid part of the year and am thinking of doing the same thing. One question I have: in Madrid and Spain in general, credit cards and Apple/Google Pay is available practically everywhere, and it's easy to use a datófono to pay your restaurant bill at the end of your meal -- they just bring it to your table. I hear Mexico is more cash-based and accepting credit cards is not the norm. Is that your experience? Also, in a future video, I'd love to know more about any "downgrades" you experienced making the change from Madrid to Querétaro. ¡Que chido/padre/guay que haya encontrado tu canal de UA-cam!

    Great content Alex, I had watched a few of your videos before. Very impressive. I still love traveling and believe it is the best experience you can have in life. I just commented on the current video with tangerine and you guys nailed it. I'm an old-timer but still, travel. I have a buddy in Acapulco and I want to convince him to make a few videos of the real Acapulco. He is a wealth of information and I want to tap into it to share with everyone. He even knew the wife of Johnny Weissmuller (Tarzan) and used to host poker parties with John Wayne's family, he has a story to tell, but maybe those stories are too old to relate to this generation and not UA-cam content. We'll see if it develops or not. Keep on keeping on.

    Yet another no-tech solution is setting up a maildrop in a city/town along the border. Like San Diego, El Paso or Laredo. Flying is often a good deal in Mexico and for those still on six-month tourist visas, it makes the ideal visa run.

    Major issue is having a US Bank account! Under US Patriot Act , you must provide a physical address to open an account. For folks that don't have family or a REALLY good friend to offer theirs , your expat adventure is over before it starts!🙄 Mailbox addresses will not work to my knowledge.

    • @alex-wittman
      @alex-wittman  3 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing this! Have you looked into opening an account with Transferwise?? I don't think you'd need a US address, but you would still have a US account # & routing #. That's my understanding! 🤓

    • @forgednotcast612
      @forgednotcast612 3 роки тому

      @@alex-wittman Wise, formally Transwise, is regulated just like any US Bank and abides by the Patriot Act. I was hoping your recommendation was the fix to the problem but unfortunately not. A US address is required. Thanks ! 😉

    • @alex-wittman
      @alex-wittman  3 роки тому

      @@forgednotcast612 I know it's not ideal, but did you see the suggestion in the comments to have a mailbox in a border town? Perhaps that could be a workaround?

    • @forgednotcast612
      @forgednotcast612 3 роки тому

      @@alex-wittman unfortunately, if that border town is in the US, it falls under Federal regulations.
