So I'm guessing hiryu and taiho and Essex don't count wargaming even tho they were in your game for 3 years cus you were too lazy to rework them and instead added paper russian and german carriers
The US and Japanese CV lists would be longer if it had not been for the CV rework. It was still a good comparison video nonetheless. The subs will be the last size comparison video in this series once they release.
They forgot to add in historically accurate, Soviet-era carriers capable of fielding wings of aircraft, featuring pilots with 300 plus confirmed aerial kills and who have participated in numerous dogfights in their highly successful and widely secretive naval air campaign against the germans. Honestly. SMH.

There is Midway on display in San Diego which I had a chance to tour recently. It blows my mind how big that ship really is and to think it was in service 80 years ago. Most countries don't even have ships of that size to this day.
Is this only carriers that existed/almost existed? If so, Weser technically could have been there, as she was in the 90% completed area, from conversion from Heavy Cruiser Seydlitz

@@Alpha_627 yes, she existed as a CRUISER hull. Her conversion was almost entirely paper. The only work that was done was removing some of its superstructure. Nothing else. Weser as a CV is paper.
RIP Cv's on Tier V/VII/IX ... 2.5 years after REEE-work, when will they come back to their place ?? With this integrated an "operational" & good rework for this class and games ;). This count for model planes too. (fortunately this video arrived before Russian CVs, there would have been only the ocean x) ) However "why not" for german, present Weser and Erich Loewenhardt ? Weser existed (ex Seydlitz, Hipper Class), unfortunately the conversion was never completed. Erich Loewenhardt, is GZ class planned 1937/1939.
@@bladeclanhalo3 That is the trouble with trying to put Shinano in the game, she'd be a pain to balance or need some hefty gimmicks to deal with the fact that she's basically an aircraft repair depot and delivery ship, despite being so massive.
I think that the most beatifull, overall well composed and elegant cv is the Implacable, followed by Enterprise, from port view, analysing every cv from every angle i think that is the most esthetically pleasant among the historically builed ones

It will not, because they are only showing historical CVs in the "size comparisons" serie of videos! As much as you can argue GZ is not, well, there are still pictures of it at sea, that's quite real enough.

Once they're in game, there's only two more CV's to add to this list anyway, Béarn which was actually completed, and Aquila, which is in much the same place as Graf Zeppelin. Only one sort of missing is Wesser/Seydlitz as she was half done for the second time by the time the war ended.

I'd go as far as to say it's because for a good portion of their paperships, there isn't even a mention of an official size.

As a CV main, I find this video to be both informative with what was shown... and lackluster with all the carriers that were missing. I wonder if there was a reason for not including a bunch of them... Also, am I the only CV main that only uses CV's in PvE? Part of me feels like using them in PvP is just something that kills the fun for folks, at least from what I keep hearing. For context, I'm a newer player (started a week before they changed how attack planes work), so I'm still trying to learn stuff for this.
Welcome to playing CV'S in WOWs. Playing in co-op games is fine, while you get some practice. Eventually, you will be tempted to test your skills in Scenario Operations, and random battles. It is okay to take your time. Study guides and how to videos are available on WOWs UA-cam channel and Ahskance's youtube channel, among others. I won't go into PvP, but you might see me if you do co-op as I'm also on the NA server under the same name. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome and for the information!

Basically comes down to the view that British carriers would most likely be called into action off the coasts of Europe, especially in the Mediterranean and so would be under attack from heavier and more numerous land based aircraft whereas ships designed to operate in the Pacific would likely primarily be attacked by other carrier based aircraft, which are lighter and less numerous. The Ark Royal was designed to operate in the Far East against Japan and was designed as an unarmoured carrier, whereas the Illustrious and Implacable classes along with the Light Fleet Carriers were all primarily designed for the war in Europe.
I Have All Of The US Carriers Except For Essex & Midway. Enterprise Is My Favorite! I Always Circle Far & Wide, And Attack From A Distance. I Never Understood How Some Players Would Sit Stationary Until The Last Minute, And Then Try To Run Away When The Enemy's Closing In On Them! That's Suicide!!!
*Ironic* how you guys *failed* on every goal on that whiteboard for the *cv rework* .. so now you have to make Russian cv's like RTS bc it was *100%* better than the pile of bs... dumbed down... boring *farming* simulator that cv's have become. In the same process you had to nerf every other carrier to make the Russian cv's "playable and somewhat balanced" with their "1 all out attack per squad" mechanics. Don't even get me started on how much you guys have nerfed our premium cv's that we paid for.. god damn. Farza could of fixed this mess if you had ACTUALLY listened to your CC's and Players! I hate the fact that you guys dumbed down my class... and even took fighter control away! Something that kept cv's in check!

It's interesting that Enterprise was notably lighter (20k+ tons) compared to other large CVs of comparable length (which were around 30k-40k tons).
Her full load was over 32k late war.
Enterprise didn’t have an armoured deck which prob saved a lot of weight

@@libraeotequever3pointoh95 Yes, Drachinifel does an interesting video on the topic of the rationale behind the British armoured carrier philosophy.
Basically comes down to the view that British carriers would most likely be called into action off the coasts of Europe, especially in the Mediterranean and so would be under attack from heavier and more numerous land based aircraft whereas ships designed to operate in the Pacific would likely primarily be attacked by other carrier based aircraft, which are lighter and less numerous.
The Ark Royal was designed to operate in the Far East against Japan and was designed as an unarmoured carrier, whereas the Illustrious and Implacable classes along with the Light Fleet Carriers were all primarily designed for the war in Europe.

HMS Audacious was built but her name was changed to HMS Eagle.
Technically HMS Audacious was real carrier.

*Ironic* how you guys *failed* on every goal on that whiteboard for the *cv rework* .. so now you have to make Russian cv's like RTS bc it was *100%* better than the pile of bs... dumbed down... boring *farming* simulator that cv's have become.
In the same process you had to nerf every other carrier to make the Russian cv's "playable and somewhat balanced" with their "1 all out attack per squad" mechanics. Don't even get me started on how much you guys have nerfed our premium cv's that we paid for.. god damn. Farza could of fixed this mess if you had ACTUALLY listened to your CC's and Players! I hate the fact that you guys dumbed down my class... and even took fighter control away! Something that kept cv's in check!
