Warship Size Comparison: Battleships in World of Warships
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- Battleships in World of Warships stand out by having the sturdiest armor and most impressive firepower-the smallest of battleship main guns already have a massive 283 mm caliber! So, it’s no surprise that this ship type encompasses some of the game’s biggest vessels.
In the video we take a look at the ships of this type featured in World of Warships that have actually been built and launched.

We made a couple of mistakes preparing this video: South Carolina was named incorrectly and Viribus Unitis had the wrong nation flag attached to it. We apologize for this and will try to avoid such mistakes in our future videos comparing cruisers, destroyers and aircraft carriers.
Like this comment if you are looking forward to comparing submarines! 👍
Love ur game
Aaaa....ok

It’s a soviet battleship

I believe they never could
Where is uss missouri
Beautiful! Actually something historically acurate. Love it
Except that Hood isn't a Battleship. It's a Battlecruiser but let's pinch an eye in this case ^^
@Nigel DeBruin Actually, the Admiral Graf Spee was officially classefied as a Heavy Cruiser/Pocket Battleship and the Scharnhorst as a Battleship.
@@BrokenAngelWings The Graf was never "officially" classified as a "pocket battleship", though it was often called that by the British. It was originally classified as a "panzerschiff", ostensibly a small battleship or battlecruiser, but that was bs given its capabilities (too slow and probably also not armoured enough to be a battlecruiser, and definitely not heavily armoured enough to be a battleship), and it was rightfully reclassified as a heavy cruiser in 1940. A very unusual ship, along with the other Deutchland class ships. The calibre of the main guns was what made so many people think that it was a battleship or battlecruiser.
@Nigel DeBruin The Scharnhorst was a fast battleship with somewhat small guns, though the British apparently often referred to it as a battlecruiser. The germans often sacrificed main gun calibre in favor of speed and protection, aside from the Deautchland class ships, which were the exact opposite of that.
only real ships wow
Ikr can't believe it too
😂👍
And you realize Russian bias in the game :d
@@fatihorhanaltnkaya9910 British and US bias feels more real these days. Cough Thunderer and Massachusetts
@@b-17gflyingfortress6 Can confirm Massachusetts.
That moment when you have to show the only real ships in the Russian tech tree and you can't come past tier 6
Lmao
You can with the cruisers ;)
@@whateverwhatever7465 also Tashkent was built in Italy.
past tier IV*
Their only completed battleships ingame are Oktyabryskya Revolutsya and Gangut (which are the same ship btw). All the others were either never completed or stayed on the drawing board.
I was expecting to see Sovetsky Soyuz - since they've built part of hull and a single gun for it.
gotta say, this video represents the only reason i still play world of warships, the art department!
also, have you noticed how suddenly the russian fleet is only four ships big? finally some realism.
Ehehehe lol

It would be awesome if there'd be a menu in the port to put two ships side by side to compare then, or something similar like the training room. For now you always have to sail right across the map to an afk bot to compare ships side by side
Nice little video, something purely historical - just want to acknowledge that and encourage it - thanks WG
I think this is a pretty old video that was updated to include the Italian BB's.
Thank you Wargaming for actually including only real/launched ships for once and not bloating this excellent video with fakes!
The other ships of the game aren't fake. They are just projects that weren't or couldn't be completed in actual history
@@psicose948 There are just as many completely made up ships in the game as there are ones based on real projects.
Actually complaining about project ships is really cringe. I do not want game to be flooded with Iowas and Fletchers clones.
The one ship that they missed was the tirpitz
@@tsghghostonps4672 bismarck and tirpitz were practically the same... isnt?
The Italian stile is superior: the ships have all of the flag’s colors in it and the Red~White front is simply too beautiful
I have always wanted the ship dimensions to be part of the specifications drop downs. Thank you for this video, I hope to see this info added into the game.
Italy was amazing, especially the ROMA, wow.
Fell in love with the music on the Italian bit!
True! I would like to know the name...
Sadly. We won’t know that name of the muic
I can respect the fact that this time WG has excluded all the paper ships and not just give special treatment to the russians.
Yeah totally. ILR the Russian navy has never been something to boast about lol.
but they did give them special treatment again. They included the Izmail which was never completed. Only the hull was built yet they included it. Yet they didnt include any ships of the Amagi class...
@@finol6127 Izmail was launched but not completed, while Amagi was never launched (Akagi was converted to CV).
That's probably why WG included Izmail but not Amagi.
Jean Bart could have been included, the ship was like almost complete right? The main guns still fired I believe
Edit: and it saw some action
@Nargacuga Wyvern Amagi (the lead ship of the class, Akagi was the second) would be a CV even if it wasn't totaled in Great Kantō earthquake. Washington Naval Treaty allows each country to convert 2 incomplete BB or BC hulls to 30k ton CVs; Japan got to keep Amagi and Akagi, given that they would be completed as CVs (As a side note, Amagi was FUBARed in the earthquake barely less than 2 years after the treaty was signed, therefore Japan filled the quota with Kaga, the 2nd Tosa class BB that was planned to be scrapped).
In the other words, regardless of Amagi being completed or not IRL, BC Amagi is always a paper ship.
I love the italian battleship Roma because have an good design and good guns
Dates of Commission would have been a really nice add to the information.

You should do one with the cruisers and destroyers size comparison as well! Perhaps even CVs too!
When the Italian BBs buff? since dead eye is gone we need some improvements to the reload or the range or the dispersion
Nice video, next pls CVs or cruisers
would be nice if there was something like this in game to compare all the ship sizes/weights etc, or even just the stats of the ship.
Very Nice! And also where to get that Bismarck camo? Is the Cruisers next in Warship Size Comparison? i want to see that.
Bismarck camo is the standard premium one, that can be bought directly from camo`s section at any time.
@@Dyx_DeTcTBa but where? I have type 18 Bismarck camo, that one was historical camo and i just dont find it.
@@luckymies205 If I will have possibility to launch the game today, I'll try to reply with my thoughts. Ok?
@@Dyx_DeTcTBa roger that!
What a sight would be seeing all those beauties parading all togheter!
Music also makes me think some Indipendence Day-ish movie, where all fleets line up for battle.
There is a serious mistake in this video. The Roma was a bit longer compared to the other Littorio class battleships (Littorio and Vittorio Veneto) and was 240,7 m not 238,8 m. Both ships should have been in the video.
@@whateverwhatever7465 True, but this video is about size of battleships. In addition to that, they wrote Roma with 238,8 m of length, and that's simply wrong. A further element is that a in the actual game Roma and Vittorio Veneto are visually identical, except for the camo. They both look like the actual Roma, without considering the changes in the bow and in the main bridge placement.
They only show one ship of each class and they chose Roma.
@@jayvee8502 Then the number is simply wrong...
@@serardin6661 The numbers don't add up.
@@jayvee8502 Roma was 240,7 m, not 238,8 m like it's written in the video
It would be nice a game mode, Operations... where were recreated some kind of historical battles with realistic facctions (IJN vs UK, USA vs IJN... France vs...) and not mixing ships of different countries in the same teams unless realistic coalitions... And not repeating same model ships... (Only one Yamato, Iowa, Kidd... per team) but being possible a Richelieu and Jean Bart or a Massachussets and Alabama, Yamato Mushashi... Well I know... Just dreaming.
I would love to see this idea happen, they may rework operations after the submarines, because the community really wants submarine-operations.
(Nothing is confirmed btw)
youre in luck actually, a game mode like that is in the works it'll probably be a while before it hits the live server though
I really liked the Video. The Fact that only launched Ships were showed really suprised me in a good way. I wanted to see the Paperships too but the hate would propaply be to much. In fact i dont understand why hating WG is common now. I understand if someone dont like the lootbox disaster and comment about it under that video but i dont understand why some have to let the rage under videos out that are really good like this one too.
I wish our harbor can park numerous ships at same time.
No One:
When A-150 Get Add In Battle Ship
A-150 Join The battle: Hey hey hey
All Ship: Oh.. shiit
Yamato,Musashi,Shinano: Hello There
A-150 is in the game as the Shikishima, she's available for 32,000 Steel (very rare resource earned in competitive modes).
I love the focus on only historical ships
This video begs the question: "why can't we zoom in closer to our ships in the game, either in port or in game to better observe the nice detailing from the artists?"
Oh my, where did the mighty soviet fleet go?
I'm a bit unsure as to the inconsistency, in that some lines had incompleted ships like the Francesco Carraciolo or the Izmail qualify for being added, but some incomplete ships, like the Sovetsky Soyuz and the Lion weren't.
I guess it’s due to the fact that F. Carraciolo and Izmail were actually launched in water thus majorly completed while S.Soyuz and Lion were not
@@chadjensen2027 Ah yes, that's a fair point. I thought that the Soyuz was, by the looks of it, though, I was mistaken. Thanks for pointing it out. Although, that does leave some oddities, like the lack of Amagi, which was launched, but never completed due to the Great Kanto Earthquake.
Thomas Zinser as far as I know Amagi was never launched and only her sistership, Akagi, has made it to service although as an aircraft carrier
@@thomaszinser8714 The Soyuz had like 5-10% of her hull completed if even that
@@chadjensen2027 amagi hull was badly damaged by earthquake so she not make it to carrier but . Akagi second ship of class have been completed as carrier
Me: sees the ships
Also me: guesses the next real ship based on the current tech tree

Fantastic music
HMS hood is not a battleship it's a battle cruiser can you explain something
Nice vid WG. 5:05 Now that is the historically accurate Soviet battleship fleet.
Excellent video!!
4:33
Finally, OUR battleships
These are obviously all ships that actually existed.
Albeit, I wasn't aware Prinz Eitel Friedrich was a real ship.
Anybody got any information to back it up? I'd be delighted to hear the real story behind this ship, I never knew actually existed. =)
Prinz Eitel Friedrich was a Mackensen class battlecruiser. She was launched but was never finished due to the surrender of Germany
A hull was made but never finished due to the end of the great war
i think they started work on like 6 hulls for the class, 1 or 2 got launched but then the war ended
There a photo of her along with an uncompleted bayern in 1920 if you go to her wiki in world of warships and click the historical gallery tab
The modelling is awesome!
The fact that they call The Hood a battleship even though it's a battle cruiser
They call it battleship because wows doesn´t have a battlecruiser section
映像技術、結構上手い!ありがとう👍
Bruh it's South Carolina.
Sweet Caroline!😅
Oh no!! How did I not notice that the first time I watched
@@tobiastime4066 bro-
Damn, US BBs look so good..
You added: Normandie, Izmail, Imperator Mikołaj, Francesco Caraciolo, Prinz Eitel Friedrich. And these ships weren't built / finished. So where are they: Montana, Kaga, Amagi, Lion, Sovetsky Soyuz ... and a few more?
Besides, Gangut and Octryiabskaya Revolution are the same ship. Not the same type as Conte di Cavour and Gulio Cesare.
I am pretty sure these ships were launched but never outfitted/completed. While the other ships either never left the drawing board or had maybe a partially completed hull.
OK, explain one thing Wargayming:
Why Fuso being smaller in size than Yamato is spotted from almost 19 km while the latter from 18 km? Soviet belenz?
Must be for Fuso's Jenga Tower superstructure. It looks so ugly everybody even from afar wants to shoot it to oblivion😂.
I can somewhat understand that. There're more cancerous unbalanced thing other than that tbh.
Very cheeky to include ships that were launched, but not completed, otherwise there would only be two ships for Russia/USSR (and those are actually the same ship)... XD
Yep Gangut and Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya would be like "The rest of you can leave, we got this"
Finally a Battlescale with historical accuracy.
No Kremlin OR Thunderer
GK, Conqueror, Republique, Montana, Bourgogne: How about us?
I'm reading all the comments about only Historical Ships that actually launched being included , but several of the ships included weren't actually completed, and yet the HMS Warspite, which fought in the Battle of Jutland, is not? I loved the video, but was just head scratching at the choice of which ships to include?
When several ships of the same class are in the game, they generally chose one ship to represent the class. Warspite is represented by the lead ship of the class, Queen Elizabeth. The only repeat classes that I saw were Gangut/Oktober and Conte di Cavour/Giulio Cesare, where they were able to show the class before and after a major reconstruction that changed the ships' dimensions.
Nunca voy a entender a los clase Richelieu, ¿quien fue el "genio" que se le ocurrió poner todas las baterías principales en la parte delantera del barco?
My states Battleship was the sister ship to the poor USS Arizona. Unfortunately she was sunk during the Nuclear Tests at Bikini Atoll.
The Royal Navy used to be a beautiful fleet of ships! Im jealous!
Ahhhh yes old mighty USS Iowa
Imagine each of these largest battleships (per country) build a replica of it and turn it into a museum...
You forgot quite a number of actual battleships in that list.
SPAIN - "España" class, comprising battleships "España", "Alfonso XIII" and "Jaime I".
BRASIL - "Minas Gerais" class, comprising battleships "Minas Gerais" and "Sao Paulo".
ARGENTINA - "Rivadavia" class, comprising battleships "Rivadavia" and "Moreno".
Are any of those in WOWS? These are ships in the game at the time the video was made.
What about Warships Size Comparison:
Battlecruisers
Just asking ?
Finally good BB comparison video
0:13 lol the guns are flying
Only Japan managed to make a t10 battleship lol
They needed to work harder as we all now the US T9, is equal to the Japanese T10.
Except the tier 9 Iowa is comparable to the tier 10 Yamato. The creation of tier levels is not even universal and not actually used in real life, it’s Wargamings creation.
@@shuntao3475 Shut up
Even though only unfinished battleships and battleships completed after the war are in t10
@@shuntao3475 yeah true
Also they made Yamato dispersion Godlike and Iowa trash.

German and Italian Design its Amazing
Lmao when you realize how many Russian paper ships have to be left out

やっぱり大和はかっこいいなぁー
Am I the only one that has the impression that the presentation of the german battleships was a bit fast?
Still a good one in my opinion they had something to bring to the table unlike the real soviet fleet.
Why isn't musashi in these comparisons?
Because she is a Yamato-class!
Ayy in-game ones.
Finally they did another one

Pretty decent video. It is nice to hit the like button and mean it.
Why there wasnt Duke of York in the British line ?
Well!!!
Duke of York was King George V-Class, you know
I'm glad they use just ships that was built
My favorite ship is the Yamato👍👍
Vibrius Unitis: "Hahaha....behold my unmatched size, peasants!"
I didn't knew Mikasa was this small
Which is the most agile BB in the game? I really enjoyed the Normandie in that regard but perhaps another is more agile?
At what tier?
Read LittleWhiteMouse's ship reviews on the World of Warships forum, and compare the wiki stats for the ship in question. The French BB's can feel lively for a battleship, and the Massachusetts is nice, too. I also like Mutsu.
@@libraeotequever3pointoh95 regardless of tier, anyone better than ghe normandie?

Nice video, also with errors...
At least they would have changed the name of the kongo to hiei, I say
where is missouri and pommern? :c
The Iowa is included, so there is no need for the Missouri and Pommern is a paper ship
Not sure why the light cruiser Normandie is in the French lineup. Also the battleship Petropavslovsk is missing from the Russian lineup.
The Petro is in the video (kind of)! It was a ship of the Gangut-class! :D
@@whateverwhatever7465 I mean the Petro in the game, it clearly isnt a cruiser.

Yeah, until you realize most soviet BBs were not finished because of WW1 and WW2 and the 1917 revolution. The US was fortunate enough to not be directly attack by both world wars in its core territory like the USSR and Russian Empire was.
