The Sovetsky Soyuz used shells that each weighed 2443 pounds. If you calculate its salvo weight per minute based on the actual stats it has a salvo weight of 18,132 kg/min, not the fantasized 24,930 kg/min.
Ok so I did some math: In wg's own wiki it states, that kremlin's shell wheight is 1373kg, and rof 1,82 shots/min (33s reload). So we get 1373kg * 9 guns * 1,82 shots/min = 22 489,74kg/min They lied in their own video about kremlin's stats just to make it seem like the strongest in the list. I can't believe that some time ago I didn't think that soviet bias was a thing.
Also I don't get why montana wasn't on the list, since of the t10 paper bbs it was the most likely to have been built and probably the most well known. Well montanas shell weight is 1225kg, 12 guns and 2 shots/min (stats from wg wiki). So that makes 1225kg * 12 * 2 shots/min = 29 400kg/min. So they excluded the montana from the list because it would've beat the kremlin.
@@kyrpajooseppi888 they also excluded Shikishima which would have the heaviest shell (2620 kg) but since its only got 6 guns that gives it a much smaller salvo weight.
@@stormkhan4250 actually since Shiki has more than twice as heavy shells as the montana, it also has a heavier salvo weight. And because of it's shorter reload, it's salvo weight / min is actually really high: 2620kg * 6 * 2,22 shots/min = 34 898 kg/min. That tops both Montana and Kremlin (even with the pre nerf 1750kg shells).

while admittedly not super-useful here; broadside weight per time is a fairly useful figure for comparing ships of different eras and types; for example the italian pre-dreads with 17in guns could in theory put out a single broadside in the region of ~4000kg, whereas a treaty heavy cruiser may only have a broadside weight of about ~220kg - the difference being the CA fires 4 salvos a minute (800kg/m), and the pre-dread will struggle to fire a salvo every 5 minutes (800kg/m) - making them fairly comparable, before taking into account range and accuracy and such
By the way why isn’t Des Moines in this list, you forgot to add the only cruiser to be able to fire 13.5 tons of shells a minute, this truly broke my heart.
With all the discussion about which ships existed ad which didn't, what I want to know is why the camera viewpoint is so low that almost half the frame shows a concrete dock while the much of the ship is cut out of frame.

@@val_strax_ The Yamato is much wider than the Iowa, and only slightly shorter, making Yamato bigger. Here's some advice, measuring things with length alone is a bad idea
The proliferance of fantasy paper-ships which never floated, never mind ever fired their guns, is just shameful and silly. Taking in the amount of time the Iowa class would need to observe targets, generate/correct firing solutions, load guns, lay guns on target, firing guns and repeat, the realistic rate of fire under full combat condition (without taking in equipment failures and crew fatigue) is around one salvo every 1 to 1.5 minutes.

Obviously the Kremlin paper ship is the most powerful with laser precision and stalinium balistics, not even talking about the turret traverse, mmmmm im missing something oh really the hidden armour plates and the angled broadside.
Da da, more stronk soviet paper, WG is about to win a medal for his service to the union for the great bias on his game, git gud montana
So lovely they try push Kremlin to the heaviest spot, to then come to realize it's not only because Montana isn't included because it would be the heaviest, it's also because they're hatred towards Germany so GK won't be on no.1 (with Montana excluded as in the video).
GK broadside weight, calculating 2 salvos since approx. 1 min. 12 guns multiplied by the shell weight (1,030 kg for 406 mm, 1,220 kg for 420 mm).
GK broadside weight, 2 salvos, approx. 1 min: 24,760 kg (406 mm) 29, 280 kg (420 mm).
Kremlin broadside weight, calculating 2 salvos since approx. 1 min. 9 guns multiplied by the shell weight (1,373 kg)
Kremlin broadside, 2 salvos, approx. 1 min: 24, 714 kg.
Take note, GK reload for 2 salvos is 64 seconds for the 420 mm guns, Kremlin reload for 2 salvos is 66 seconds.
So Russian paper get inflated stats, but even then it's not enough for their satisfaction, so they even bump it up even further.
[Extra note for Montana, 2 salvos (as in the kg/min), 12 guns for a shell weight of 1,225 kg: 2 x 12 x 1,225 kg = 29,400 kg]

@@cl4ster17 When it did 15.5k it had 1583 kilo shells.
Soo they put North Carolina and Iowa but not Montana that’s messed up
Not to mention that somehow, despite firing the literal same shell and having nigh identical reload times (except for Washington and New Jersey, those two didn't care about the fact that they were only supposed to reload every 30 seconds, they just said "Fuck it, Stalin was right for once" and threw shit at the wall), North Carolina comes out heavier on her broadside. Makes sense.
Try again, you may get it right after some time
This was interesting, of course the heavy use of ships that never existed was pretty sad. Worse was the exclusion of ships that would have been high in the list. At the very least, all the tier 10 and 9 BBs should have been there, not picking and choosing among them. That or stick to those that actually sailed.
USS Missouri (BB-63), during Operation Desert Storm, was able to get 3 rounds per minute out of Turret 3, and 2 rounds per minute out of Turrets 1 and 2. Great crew in Turret 3, where I was the Turret Electrician.

Yes, Iowa and Yamato have they numbers correct, but paper ships are bullshit, just placed there to please WG preferences and help them in the process of attracting more Russians into the game.
@@gushterell7989 North Carolina is correct using in-game RoF and real-life shell weight. Iowa is off by 50 kg for some weird reason, despite using the same shells with the same RoF as NC. And many other real ships are way off, Roma by almost 4 tons for example.

Shikishima have the biggest guns WOWS history
The Sovetsky Soyuz used shells that each weighed 2443 pounds. If you calculate its salvo weight per minute based on the actual stats it has a salvo weight of 18,132 kg/min, not the fantasized 24,930 kg/min.
Even if as a French I am particularly proud to see the Republic in third place. I can't help but think that Montana's absence is suspect.
Ok so I did some math:
In wg's own wiki it states, that kremlin's shell wheight is 1373kg, and rof 1,82 shots/min (33s reload).
So we get 1373kg * 9 guns * 1,82 shots/min = 22 489,74kg/min
They lied in their own video about kremlin's stats just to make it seem like the strongest in the list.
And because of it's shorter reload, it's salvo weight / min is actually really high:
2620kg * 6 * 2,22 shots/min = 34 898 kg/min.
That tops both Montana and Kremlin (even with the pre nerf 1750kg shells).
@@kyrpajooseppi888 not disagreeing with you but just based on the metric used in the video of shell weight * number of guns then that meaningless number is quite small relatively speaking. But meh...so what? Silly video.

Maybe its a hidden message and its Wargaming balacing department arguing for a kremlin nerf and yamato buff here?
Hope never dies lol
while admittedly not super-useful here;
broadside weight per time is a fairly useful figure for comparing ships of different eras and types; for example the italian pre-dreads with 17in guns could in theory put out a single broadside in the region of ~4000kg, whereas a treaty heavy cruiser may only have a broadside weight of about ~220kg - the difference being the CA fires 4 salvos a minute (800kg/m), and the pre-dread will struggle to fire a salvo every 5 minutes (800kg/m) - making them fairly comparable, before taking into account range and accuracy and such
Why is the broadside weight of the NC more than Iowa? They both fire identical ammunition. 2700lb super heavy.
While we're at it... include those nuke shells some the Iowas had. :)
I would like the port in the game to be like this with all your ships docked side by side

And the Iowa class had some of the best equipment and fire control systems so all the other ships would suck in comparison.

It isn't just shell weight that is important. The kinetic energy of a shell is equal to the mass times the velocity squared. So velocity is much more important.
