Warming up before a practice session is one of the most important things you can do. Starting your practice relaxed and loose is key to performing your best and even preventing injuries.
This practice pad warm up covers all aspects of your playing which is why it's so effective. One-hand strokes, double-hand strokes, rebound strokes, and different "diddle" combinations so get your hands used to moving in every which way before you dive into the meat of your practice.

This is the most valuable UA-cam channel I've ever found. Tons of useful videos packed with handy information.
I love this warm up Pat !..👊🏻sometimes on the 2nd set of the left hand paradiddle diddle combo..I like to use LLRR which switches the lead hand 😉
Perfect! Great video. Need more of this in my life. :)
Amazing warm up.Do it every day
This is so good and actually fun to play and hear!
Excellent video as always :) I'm going to use this warm up often!
Nice clean work Pat.
Well I've never heard strokes so even before. Whether it's single strokes, double strokes triples whatever everything sounds so even an awesome! I'll never get to that level no matter how long I practice.
Stick Control...... is a great resource for these types of exercises.
Ooo i need one of those pads and stand.....
I loved this guy in Casino!

... Yeah to quit playing drums.
I like this
I couldn't figure out why my rudiments didn't sound as good as others until I found this video+ 1 week of practice.
Good exercise. I like the kit in the background but where's the snare drum?
Nice, I have a question, will Chris Coleman be coming soon, or you don't know yet? :D

Aaron Levy,many thanks!
Muchas gracias from Chile🇨🇱
Who will tell me which track is playing at the beginning of the first issues of "Drumeo"??
Idk... U tell now
I don't have enough space in my house for a drum kit. Can I learn how to play drums with a pad?
Just the rudiments.
You can do a lot for technique & reading. Rudiments. Get a full practice pad kit with a kick pedal & you can play full grooves & practice coordination as well. You can get a lot done with one pad as well for starting out, getting that technique together is key. I started on phone books, pots & pans & a pad for a year until I saved enough with help from my folks at 12 to get a kit 😜🎶👌🏽🥁
Yes. There are plenty of non-kit practice setups you can do. DW makes the Go-Practice Anywhere Kit, which has 4 practice pads up and 1 practice kick pad. -- You can also get the P4 Practice pad, and add 2 foot pedals with practice pads as well. Or Hansenfutz makes practice pedals for the feet as well. Very Portable! I hope this helps you out AudioDopeBeats. There are also small ekits with very little footprint like the Roland TD-KV1, that you could also consider as well.
Well, you would probably aquire a lot of important technique and practice WAY FASTER than you would with sitting behind the drumkit! But no, at some point you really want to apply things you learn on the pad to the real instrument.
Maybe you can fidn a practice space somewhere or have to be OK with a small e-kit that would fit in any room.
Thanks everyone!
Any sheet music for the warm up?

It’s quite hard to keep the single strokes if u think abt it
2:57 = excercise (saving this for myself lol)
Bring Morgan Rose on the show, please!!!!!
Nice warrmup and Pat is fun but $79 & shipping for that loud pad? Yikes..Why is it $80+ here and $59 on other sites?
Remember: you don’t hv to play on the practice pad fast to get good results, do it slower and you will get it quicker
Pls pls tell me
I was thinking can we go a little bit slower Lol
my brain keeps getting mixed up at #10 and #11
looks like a heavy metal riff

Change name to "good practice pad warmup"
Really like the warmup, but pleeease switch back to the evans realfeel practice pad. I know that the one used here is the «drumeo» pad, but man that thing can be irritating to listen to.
to be honest none of the 4 pads here feel as good as the evans realfeel one and I really dont get the point switching around...de sound is way more different and annoying than the feel...I mean the black space in the middle left is rockhard (for a tom?!?!) and the grey one is spongy as fuck (floor tom, but so bouncy still lol) and the snare blue one just doesn't feel as good as the evans one....the orange one on top is completely idiotic.
Anyhow, these 4 different pads feel way too close to each other for really imposing a floor tom for example. the grey one is so spongy-bouncy that it is so easy playing with fingers, totally opposed to what is on an actual floor tom.
It has more to do with feel than it does to do with sound. Each pad is a different padding/thickness and height to 'simulate' movement around a kit. Does anyone really buy a pad for the 'sound' ? No. -- Orange is meant to simulate hard surfaces like a cranked snare, or hi hats -- the black section is meant to feel like a 10" tom - the blue is between a 12" tom and a snare at medium tension. and the grey section is meant to feel like a floor tom at its lowest tension without ripples in the head. The Blue section is literally the same as the Evans ReelFeel cuz I own both of them.
Exactly! That noise drives me nuts! and $80 to boot! Why is it $80 here but $60 on Musicians Friend? The pad concept is fine & Pat is cool but those surfaces on that pad were the wrong choice. Too hard and way too noisy! Stop the nonsense with simulated surfaces. They are the same just different colors. Any drummer with decent hands can play on any decent surface. The idea of a practice pad is to warmup your hands quietly. The Steve Smith DW knee pad. ProLogix, & Real Feel serve the purpose and they are cost less. Something tells me those hard surfaces were the cheapest to manufacture. Why not choose different softer, quiet rubber surfaces? They probably cost more which cuts into the profit margin.
Best warm up?This is a joke ,right?
Do a better one .
@@Tanildes Easy my friend!
