      hahaha I just got through beginner (still drooling a bit on the last triplets) for the first time after practicing every day for almost a month. Tried this one and it's a ways off XD
      but hey a few weeks ago getting those triplets seemed impossible so practice makes progress!

    Fun tip. If this becomes too difficult around the 3/4 minute mark, you can lower the playback speed to .75 and that'll be at 75 bpm, a good middle point between the beginner video(60 bpm) and the intermediate (100 bpm) . Best of luck to everyone

    6 months in and I’m almost up to it! Swiss triplets still lose me for a couple of bars. This has been a great inspiration and a solid goal for me, cheers!

    I'd give myself a 7 out of 10. Fine with all exercises except the last one - I can play it fast enough but I lose the plot sometimes.
    I'll take that as I'm getting back into drumming after a 10 year hiatus due to having kids and my old studio burning down with all my gear in it!
    Played a bit the other day and felt like my arms were made of lead so this is my solution.
    Thanks for a great video!

    • @jerrywangPMSS
      @jerrywangPMSS Рік тому +2

      That's really really strange! I can play the last one really well because I'm used to alternating hands but when I try to do #4 with either just my left or my right playing the flam accents, my arm gets really tense and I can't play it! As of now with 3 weeks of snare drumming like 5 days a week 2 hours a day, I would also give myself a 7 out of 10 for this exercise! Definitely possible, and snare drum is quite interesting and different from the marimba that I played last year. Btw, I'm the marimba player in the "PMSS drumline," which we just start this year! I hope I can hang onto snare for next year! Good Luck everyone!

    I’ve been working on these warmups for a while. I can finally get the beginner done on the first try. The intermediate is a challenging up to the Swiss triplet. The Swiss triplet seems impossible right now. Like I’m not physically capable of doing the Swiss triplet at this tempo.

      Dude... This is the key to learn ANYTHING on drums. Slowing it down is OP, and needs to be nerfed with how good it is. Slow anything down to like 40-60 BPM, understand the sticking and technique at a super basic and rudimentary level. Then speed it up 10 bpm, and repeat. That is how you learn everything on drums.

    I thought I was going to have a little bit of difficulty with advanced but only slightly, boy was I wrong! Swiss triplets were easy compared to the flam accent 16th notes. I have to say I'm at about 8/10 on intermediate because I've been nonstop practicing it! Not all the way there but I'm shooting for advanced speed.
    BTW if you guys want to practice between beginner and intermediate just put your playback speed at 1.25 on the beginner video. Unless you have a metronome lol

    Day 2 of drum practice, beginner one is pretty good. This internediate though for me is a solid 6 out of 10. The last 2 are tough at high speed.
    I kind of gotten the idea behind the swiss army triplets. Every 6 counts you double up the flam pretty much, everything is the same after.

    Month ago I would give myself 5... maybe even 4. Now I'm like 9 :D. Just can't get a smooth transition from swiss to flams. Also I use the turnover at the end in #4 to change hands and play the exercise starting with my left. And it is my opinion but I think that the flam accents are pretty harder than swiss triplets while you increasing tempo.

      I like Turtles? maybe you aren't holding it properly? when I was doing traditional grip with my warm ups, it was quite easy to get used to after a couple minutes, especially since I had someone teach me proper grip. I used to hold it improperly, which made me very frustrated when I tried to play snare. you should also try using snare sticks, not normal drumsticks, if you aren't already. I remember switching to snare sticks helped me a ton with comfort, as well as difficulty to play, since they are made for people using traditional grip.
