- In this week's video the crew encounters its biggest challenge to date. An abandoned 1956 F100 with a Corvette born small block Chevy fresh outta backwoods. To say this old Mouse Motor is froze tighter than two coats of paint is an understatement. I mean TIGHT! My dad told me he had 50 Chevrolet car it was 3 on the tree and he moved the shifter like that so he could shift gears while his other arm was around mom.

Absolutely cannot do this kind of work with newer vehicles, but cha can with the classics. It still amazes me how robust older quality made parts were back then. Yep, I manually did a rebuild like this 30 yrs ago, and ran like it was new. I ground down by hand, shaved a little here, a little there, used bolts from older machinery, worked like a charm. Up and running in no time again.
Yes sir! I agree. This one is about as hillbilly as we ever got with a rebuild but if we coulda got it runnin I think It woulda been fine. Gonna try again soon; gotta drive this thing!

Put some oil in the cylinders and if it starts let run to loosen the rings up

I've got hot little 390 that would make that thing romp!!! You got to be somebody out there that really wants that engine. Great job on the video. That's a good looking old Ford truck. You can put a little lipstick on the fender😂😂. I can resist you know lipstick on a hog is still lipstick on a hog 🤢. I don't think I drive halfway across the country for that old truck.

@HustlehousePA1978 nobody wants to 390 engine? Or the engine in the truck already? If I did use my ticket for the inauguration I've been more happy stopped by and pick up that warrant out engine of yours. I'm not a real fan of the 390. You know either go small or go large but that's in the middle. We used to take the 4.6 and basically use the whole front frame out of the crown vics and stick them underneath these trucks. Didn't look too fancy buf they sure ran great. Just a thought.
We like em all actually just have a bad taste in our mouth over this 265 in it. Gave me Popeye elbow and still never barked off!

I just passed through the pretty recently stopped and said hi. I'm not talking about his two-door wagon 55 the other 55 is what I'm talking about. That go good in my car I got 55 four-door. Any case we'll see what you do with your old truck over the summer I think is when you said you'd get to it.

Hahaha I was waiting for a lock and retainer to fly off and take an eye out! Hey it smelled as bad as it looked in that oil pan. Real surprised we didn't get some kinda infection from rolling around in that sludge for all those days. We aint done though buddy... New subscriber here. My first vehicle was a '55 F-100. There was no engine in it when I bought it, so I put a 430 Lincoln in it. I loved that truck!!!! It was the coolest and I kick myself in the ass every day for selling it!!!! That was 50 years ago. Did you try filling the cylinders with oil or ATF to build compression, then try firing it?
Hey, now that's a cool first vehicle.. Mine was a Datsun B210 But my first FORD was a 55 F100 with a Y block. It was pretty rough but was good enough to pull holeshots in! Bet that thing got it pretty good with that Lincoln under the hood. We had atf in the cylinders when we first put it together and it did bark a time or two when it was 180 out. Woulda had better luck if we put more in it but by time we got done fiddlin around tryin other stuff the starter was gone. We will have it back on the channel before long. I gotta drive this thing! Good to know, I'd like to see a video on which oil would do better in this situation. We would film one ourselves but oils EXPENSIVE!! Most likely pump some outta the barrel of used crude in the corner! lol.. I figure anything would work but something that would burn slower may work better. You got me curious though. 265 is a cool my buddy had one it didn't even have a oil filter from the factory the early ones didn't have oil filters how goofy is that have a great day I'll watch the rest of the video thanks I don't care what kind of car it is if it's cool I like it

My buddy has a '56 that someone popped in a 351 Windsor with a tranny that wouldn't stay in park, yikes, that I towed home with my '70 Roadrunner. He still has his 42 years later, NO I don't have mine, grrrrrr. I donated a Police-style spotlight for it that I "borrowed" off of my brother's ambulance! Lolin' out loud.

I would keep it and put a Ford engine in it and sell the Chevy to someone who is doing a restoration on a 55 Chevy those block are getting harder to find the 265 was only a one year engine and if you look at it you can see there are no mount holes on the sides of the engine which changed in 57 when Chevy went to the 283 so the block would be valuable to someone doing a restoration

Yep right on. Ya notice it did fire a time or two when the oil was still in the cylinders; when it was 180 out. We really kinda gave up on it when we found out the clutch was frozen.
