In May 2022, Young Thug and 26 others were arrested on a 55-count indictment, including RICO charges. The trial has already taken almost 11 months to select a jury and is expected to last numerous months. With the length of this case, the roadblocks in this first week have already frustrated Judge Ural Glanville, including errors made by the prosecution in opening statements. This case has already had some wild moments in court. This week, I break down the charges, the law, the controversy, and the unusual moments.

Wait till you see what happened this past week (6-10-24) the trial and the judge seem to have completely off the rails, in my opinion.
I’m glad you are covering this. Opening statements were spicy, prosecution seemed ill prepared. Glad cameras were not thrown out despite pan of jurors.

@AltaMay11 that's an entirely fair argument though. He's being honest that he does illegal things and that he should be I I kissed for his INDIVIDUAL acts, not under a fucking RICO case.

This trial has me clutching my pearls 😂😂 I mean the prosecution is so reckless and they are literally just throwing 💩at the wall to see if it’ll stick I’m no lawyer but I wouldn’t hire the state prosecutor to save my life 😂😂😂😂😂
I would be interested in periodic updates on this case. Especially as it is going to be a long and comolex one.
There's so many things that they can bring up on appeal IF he gets convicted.
And this trial has barely started. It’s wild.
But the jury isn't able to see or hear about most of the prosecutorial misconduct! I sure wish they could. I watch this trial everyday, have since the beginning. And it is in fact a real circus.
They get it. Defense objects, jury gets kicked out, jury comes back, judge says "don't listen to that last bit by Prosecution." It happened a lot.
I have a feeling they will start to see it if they haven't already.
But, the lack of evidence of the “ criminal gang “ allegations are falling flat. In NONE of the police reports were a gang or gang activity, or even suspected gang activity was ever noted: but they testify in direct that a well known gang called YSL is part of this, until on cross, they admit, there was no mention of anything pertaining to a gang at the time they were involved in the actual incident, and they are asked to identify the person they are testifying about, and look around and see the person is NOT actually a defendant in this trial! Not very good evidence, if I am a juror sitting there.

I had never heard of this guy or this gang. I’m not exactly a fan of rap and don’t pay any attention to what’s happening in most of America as I’m 🇨🇦Canadian. Having said that, to see the prosecution failing to turn over ,materials that the court had ordered and watching her attempt to shift the burden to the defense was appalling! The judge was more than a little displeased and if it has carried on, then the prosecution are going to blow this case.

This attorney for the prosecution has seemed to be out of her death from jump. Given the attention, time, and taxpayer dollars going into this case, one would think it would have dictated a more skilled prosecution.
Sensible people know the prosecutor is doing just fine. Anybody think she isn't is likely biased as a fan, trying to virtue signal and/or has never been in legal trouble and don't understand how a case is built. If you think the defense argument that Young Thug is a choir boy studio gangster is going to work.... you're not in your right mind. Look at how it went today. The body language of the 911 operator. Because she is hearing all that violence daily. Calls coming from the same area over and over again. The defense disgusts her. As it does anybody else that actually cares about the effect these people's crimes have had on where they have to live and raise kids.

What a mess! Can this possibly survive appeal? Will the prosecution get their act together? Also, why doesn't the prosecution send a bigger team for such a big case? They should have a herd of lawyers, not a handful.
