Hooray!! We are 3yrs old!! , and what a journey it has been guys. To commemorate the occasion, we are starting a brand new series titled, ‘Budget travel series’. In this series, we explore all the possibilities of budget and affordable travel through every single means available.
To kickstart , we embark on a journey to the Himalayas and to the beautiful cities of Jammu and Srinagar. We board the Andaman express from Chennai and complete a two and a half days travel by train to reach Jammu and Udhampur. From there we travel by road to Banihal and then board the DEMU train and reach Srinagar.
We start the first day of our exploration by visiting the romantic Lal Chowk and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. We tuck in all the flavours of Srinagar by indulging in some hot momos , barbeque , biryani and finally wash it all down with some steaming hot carrot Halwa .
We then set out early next morning and reach the Dal Lake. The three hours long Shikara ride through the lake will surely mesmerise you. There we get to witness the floating markets, cinema shooting points and the Nehru Park, which is an island right in the middle of the lake.
The next day, you will witness a 40kms cycle ride around the lake right up to the Shalimar Gardens.
To shout out and say thank you to all my dear viewers, I take you on a trip to the snowcaped Gulmarg as a finale to the trip.
This sets the theme for the year 2024 - Sigaram Thodu ‘சிகரம் தொடு’, which translates as ‘Reach the peak’. So strap on, and let’s start the journey guys!!

This train goes to Katra Vaishnodevi temple in jammu. Why name andaman? Contrast name.
That is true, brother. Even I had that doubt when I travelled by this train. I happened to ask about its background to retired railway officer who was travelling with me. He said back in the olden days, people used to come from andaman by ship, and this train would wait for passengers and cargo to be loaded and taken all across north India. Hence, the name andaman express. It still sounds a little odd, but that is the background for its name.
Nanga flight la ponadhu 2.50 hours delhi 1.30 minutes Srinagar😅
Super bro!! Athuvum brilliant way to travel than. You will be in Kashmir on the same day…..so more days to explore and enjoy!!
Especially you will be flying on top of the Himalayas and the view is brilliant.
Keep travelling bro👍.

Thala, Vanga bro.! I look forward to seeing you after a long time. How are you bro? I hope you're doing well.
Hi Bro!! All good here. Thankyou!
This train has lot of stoppages.
That’s right. This train stops everywhere. There are faster trains that take us from Chennai to Delhi. But the reason for taking this train to Jammu is because when we calculate the waiting time in Delhi to board a connecting train to Jammu vs non-stop travel to Jammu, it’s one of the same. So by other trains, we might reach Delhi faster, but have to wait for a day time to board a train to Jammu that night. So I thought let’s go by this train without any changeover straight to Jammu.

Bro train toilets changed or same like no clean bro
There is a slight change than before. They do clean the toilet once a day and if you complain they do it one more time. But once people start to use, it does go bad.
Best of luk
Thankyou bro

It was a fascinating 52 hours which broad back all our childhood memories. The days when we would long for the summer holidays to come and go on a trip with our parents and siblings..... Those feelings are priceless!!
Kudos to our Indian railways that connects us from coast to coast.
