We continue our journey from Udhampur to Banihal by share taxi and catch the 4:25 pm DEMU train to Srinagar enjoy Jammu and Kashmir’s world class roadways, which passes through many tunnels through the mountains and the valleys. *We will pass through the 9 km Long Dr. Sayama Prasad Mukherjee tunnel*, which is a marvelous engineering feet . Finally, the DEMU train ride from Banihal to Srinagar reveals the breathtaking landscape of the Kashmir Valley in winter.
*In the evening we set off to the vibrant Lal Chowk*, where we explore the local cuisine and soak in the sights and sounds. You will see the magnificently lit-up clock tower chime to her glory!! The Bazar that sells all things from clothing to dry fruits is amazing. It is a shoppers Paradise. We then indulge in some *Lal chowk’s best hot momo's, barbeque mutton, the world famous Kashmiri mutton Pulao and wash it all down with some hot carrot Halwa*. What a night it was guys.!!

Room details - Hotel ABC Residency, Rs 1300/- for 2 persons. You can get rooms for Rs 1000 to 2000  in Jahangir Chowk and Lal Chowk area. rates may vary according to the season.

Gulmarg
1. Hotel to Batmool bus stand share auto - Rs 20/per person
2. Batmool to Gulmarg share taxi (service gadi) - Rs 100/per person
3. Breakfast in Gulmarg - Rs 50-100/per person
4. Hari Singh palace - Rs 30/per person
5. Gulmarg view point - Free
6. Golf course, strawberry plantation, shooting spot, view points, Ski point, ice hockey ring sightseeing by taxi or horse - Rs 1000-1500/per person
7. Gandola Phase 1 - Rs 810/, Gandola Phase 2 - Rs 1000/-
8. Return to hotel

Samu where you stay
I stayed in a hotel in 'Jahangir chowk'. It cost me Rs 1300/- per day. It was a little far from the Dal lake area.
Best option is to stay near the Dal lake. Many options are available online. Boat house is also available on direct enquiry and starts from Rs 1800/-.
