Dal lake, Srinagar. Join me today in exploring the world renowned Dal lake. The lake looks beautiful in winter. We go on at three hour Full lake exploration. We explore the Gulshan Lake area., the floating post office which is more than 50 years old, The Nehru Park which is an island in the lake,  the main lake area , Barbeque by the boat, the floating market, the lotus Garden lake, golden lake area where all the house boats are five star category and finally we go on a house boat tour.
The entire experience was so fascinating. So come along guys, it’s Dal Lake at its best!!

I stayed in Jahangir chowk in a hotel named ABC residency. Generally the hotels in Kashmir are well maintained. I got a double occupancy room for rupees 1300. Heater charges come as extra and you can take it only if you need it. There are also many hotels in the Lal chowk area and all around the dal Lake area. You also get hostel bunk bed stay for as low as 600 rupees per night. So you can get ample accommodation in Kashmir. OYO and booking.com are the best ways to book online. Alternately you can also stay in the boat house where according to the season, you can get rooms for as low as 1500 rupees. That can only be booked in person when you land in Kashmir.
Tourism is on a high now and many hotels are mushrooming. In the days to come, accommodation will not be a problem.

Hi bro! I had mentioned the rate for the shikara ride in the video. It is Rs 1500/- for 4 hrs. It’s a full ride. I had also mentioned the rate for the house boat. The thing is the rates vary according to the season. Also do not get into the very first Shikara boat You see at gate number one. Walk some distance and you will find Shikara’s for lesser rates at the other gates. Snacks and drinks are pretty nominal. They range from ₹50 to 200.
Always negotiate before you get into any-activity. they are open for negotiation. For room booking, booking through OYO is the best option. you can get rooms for very good deals.
For house boats, not many options are there online.many agents will be around the lake and will give you very good offers. I was offered a house boat Stay for just rupees 1500, which is a very good deal. So you can plan to stay in a house boat for one day after reaching Kashmir. for the other days, pre-book your room online.

Oh great!! Have a good time there . I stayed a little away from the city centre. Try searching for hotels in the dal lake area. It would be the best choice as all the places to visit are around the dal lake. Also you can try boat houses. It would be a great experience. I did not find many online but after reaching dal lake, they offered me rooms for Rs 1200/-. But you are going in very cold conditions. So boat house may not be a good choice at these times.

@rahuljenis3300 it was house boat at gate no 4. Don't remember the name bro. I suggest you book a hotel around Dal lake and have one day for a house boat experience after u reach there. If unable to book a house boat, then continue in your hotel. But keep in mind that it is extreme winter now and the weather conditions are extremely cold. So I suggest that you avoid the boat house in winter bro.

1. You are travelling in peak winter when the snowfall is the heaviest. So take all precautions like heavy winter clothing.
2. Avoid staying in cold conditions like house boat if any of you have a medical conditions like wheezing, breathing decease, if you have been affected by Covid before or if the temp is very low. Temp can drop below zero during these times.
3. Always book a room with heater facility. They usually charge Rs 500 extra per day for a heater. Call and ask the hotel if heather facility is available before booking.
4. Only post paid SIM cards work in Kashmir. So make sure your SIM card is post paid.
5. These videos in UA-cam are only a guide. Each one’s experience may differ. So make sure you enquire well before booking be it room, house boat or shikara ride. The responsibility is entirely on yourself.
6. Make sure you keep communicating to some one back home about your whereabouts every hour. Just send a short msg.
7. Be very careful when you walk on snow and ice. It can be extremely slippery. Don’t spend too much time in snow. If not feeling well, immediately exit the place .
8. Be very safe, don’t be very adventurous. Some things are best when seen from a distance.
9. Always respect the local people, their customs and culture. We are guests in there homes.
