@@kneishashepherd2009 Thanks for asking! If you don't like vegetables you want to stick with high fiber fruits as well as all the ground fruits like berries. There goes all the good food! I’m so over having gestational diabetes! I’m a picky eater so this has been very hard for me. Eating so much protein and all the fake sweeteners make me nauseous so there’s that too. So I either am nauseous or have high blood sugar.

I’m currently 25 weeks and I don’t have gestational diabetes but I do follow lower carb modified diabetic diet. I can attest after eating this way for a few weeks, the sciatic and piriformis pain I had since week 20 went away. Even if I exercise, the pain don’t come back! And I get much better sleep too compared to before. I really think this kind of diet is just overall better for baby and mom health regardless of gestational diabetes diagnosis

Beautiful video I am 18 weeks and during my urine test there was a trace of glucose in my urine. It's my prayer I don't get this. Ummm no. Lol. You just need to eat healthier food like grilled or baked food like fish or chicken etc. and fruit to a minimum. A good bit of vegetables. Stick to water and drinks with no sugar .
You literally just try to lay off the unhealthy carbs as well. And drinks loaded in sugar. Pretty much can eat what you’d eat as if you’d go on a diet. You can also have milk in small amounts like 1 cup at a time and only certain milks. You really just kind of have to use common sense. And also no white bread stick to whole wheat etc
My wife just tested positive for this and we are kind of scratching our heads as she hardly eats any of this. Simple carbs from white rice, noodles, and cereal, then honey, ice cream, and butter. Thanks for the video. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant but with diabetes already. Despite having drastically reduced the amount of carbs I don't get any reading below 130 and most are above 150. I'm hungry all the time. I try to fill up with spinach, lettuce, meat, fish, eggs, 1 Granny Smith apple per day, 1 kiwi or portion of berries per day, courgette, green beans, nuts... but I don't manage to fill full. I can't eat whole grain bread nor potatoes nor rice at all as it spikes my levels above 160 easily. Do you think I can try pulses? Do you know of other foods that would make me fill full? Thank you very much
Thanks for asking! I am not sure what pulses are. I would make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. Our bodies will send the hunger signal when we are thirsty and haven't responded to that. You should also focus on protein. It's the lowest in carbs and the longest lasting food. Feel better!
You should take small and frequent meals and try to take more vegetables but except grounded vegetables becoz it will put on more calories and increase diabetes so u can take greens and vegetables it will full fill your stomach as full
Why is there so much negative about fat? I have been mainly focusing on limiting carbs but not so worried about fat. If it’s not making me gain weight is it still a problem?
Thanks for asking! As long as you are using healthy fats like Avocados, olive oil, nuts, etc. you do not need to worry about fats. They can be very healthy for you. However, unhealthy fats are bad whether or not they cause you to gain weight.
Thanks for asking! I think if you start to make dietary changes now, you can control your blood sugar through diet alone. Talk with your healthcare provider and ask for a referral to a nutritionist who specializes in pregnancy. Good luck!
Thanks for asking! First, use a protein powder that is low or no sugar added. Then mix it with whole milk. Whole milk is lower in sugar than low-fat milk. Second, ask to see a nutritionist who can review your diet to help you find other opportunities to increase your protein intake. Good luck!

When i get up in the morning without breakfast , i check my level sometimes that is higher 5.7, 5.4 mmol/l. Can you please tell me why in the morning my level is high ? Can you please suggest me something?
Thanks for asking! It is probably due to insulin resistance. At this point, I would be asking to be seen by a maternal fetal medicine specialist regarding your diabetes. You probably need to start on insulin injections for the safety of your baby. Poor glucose control can lead to stillbirth. Feel better!
Hi there. Thanks for your video! Have you got any suggestions on how to lower fasting blood sugar levels? I am 22w and have been put on insulin and metformin. I only started those 4 days ago but even with the insulin injections (6units) a night, my fasting levels are still higher than they’re meant to be. I’m not sure what to do
Thanks for asking! It does take a few days for your body to get used to the insulin. In the meantime, focus on high protein and healthy fats in your diet. You want to reduce your carbohydrate intake. Many people don't realize that some vegetables have a lot of carbs so make sure you are looking them up. Also, you want to limit high carb fruits and stick to low carb fruits like berries.
