But the detectives skeleton appears to be female. If you venture enough you'll find two skeleton lying in a mattress and nearby is a machete and a piece of chalk
While I doubt the detective the Fens serial killer was targeting the human Nick Valentine, it does make me think about him. The Synth Nick Valentine we know would only know the memories of the human Nick up to the point where his memories were scanned and copied. But how long before the bombs dropped was that? The human Nick might have gone living his life for days, weeks or months after his memories were copied by the machine. Less likely but still possible that it could have been years. We just don’t know. I personally prefer it being at least a year and in that time he met another woman, got married and eventually had a child or twins. That he had a good life up until the bombs dropped. Nevertheless he and his family found a good shelter and survived the apocalypse and afterwards built a new life for themselves. So of course somewhere in the Commonwealth there are descendants of the human Nick running around. This is my personal headcanon.
jeez me either, people give fo4 a lot of shit but the fact i have 2k+ hours on the game and didnt know that little creepy lore bit makes me feel like they didnt get enough credit where it was due. the enviromental storytelling in fo4 is on point. only thing that was really bad was the dialogue haha
Malcolm isn't the only cannibal on Far Harbor. In fact most if not all of the trappers are. Even if you didn't notice the load screen that basically says this there is another group of trappers that as part of a quest you get to talk to that very explicitly eat people. You know the one where you have to find the missing synth for Arcadia.
The creepiest part about General atomics is that it perfectly predicted the start Fallout 76, completely run by animatronics and buggy as hell and unplayable unless patched.
It has been fixed from all the patch's and the next update adds dialogue options and NPC's ! And the crashed space station becomes a working settlement
@@ryanhawkins5082 You realize that update isn't coming for another year, there have been several updates since so it's not the "next" update, and that the game is *barely* playable, right?

Chokah maybe, but pre-war nick was an officer, not a detective. the phantom guy was addressing a detective, not an officer, so i doubt this theory is true.
Audrey Triplett some officers can still be referred to as detectives, if they do that type of work for the PD officially with their office there. Personally I think Nick may have been the detective and I think those holotapes were put there in preparation for his arrival but the bombs fell before he went there and he just never went after the bombs. I’m actually goin to take Nick there with me (recently started playing on steam and JUST got to Diamond City and actually discovered the sewer but didn’t go in because I just wanted to get to town) Played through it before on Xbox but never took Nick with me. I’m curious if he will have anything to say. Sometimes characters do have comments about special locations after all.

Yep, Pickman I think just went a little bonkers with his art gallery. What he needs is a boss to tell him what to do. Pickman as a companion. That would be great, and your affinity quests could be all about getting him to focus his favorite activities in a productive direction. And if FO4 had allowed evil characters, then you could actually have options of HOW that mentoring changes Pickman. So many possibilities! I actually prefer to run good characters, but even I thought my actions could be viewed as bad as his. After all, if I go into my Stats on the PipBoy, I have killed over 1700 humans in the Commonwealth and I am supposed to be the hero! Pickman has nothing on that. I am sure the game doesn't have that death total count the gods-know-how-many died when I destroyed the Institute and basically nuked downtown Boston ... again.
Me too. He's one of the few ingame characters with real class. Doesn't prey on weak, although he easily could if he wanted. Alone he goes against evil, armed chemmed-up killers, often against groups of them. Leaves no survivors and has to resort to leaving business cards, because noone is alive to tell the tale. He's like a twisted superhero!
I like when Nate says “when you kill them you can find a key to [their house/their terminal]” meanwhile I literally pickpocketed every key from everyone in Diamond City
You picked up some good ones here. The Fens Phantom is #1 on the list for me as the absolutely creepiest. I really like your portrayal of Dixie too. I'll have to pay more attention to her.
DiMA is like a cult leader, he has a calming voice and even attempts to convince you that you're a synth upon first meeting you. He lured a young girl from her home by convincing her she's a synth even though there is no synth component on her corpse if she's killed. He also basically tortured a fellow synth and made them the leader of far harbor. After dealing with DiMA I started wondering if maxson isn't right. Even after several playthroughs of solely being with the railroad. I don't believe the synths deserve death but it's better than sending them to their doom either by his hand (basically optional slavery) or the horrors of the wastes.
@@ralcogaming7674 Ah finally somebody gets it. DiMA attempting to convince the player they're a synth isnt the game telling us we're synthetic, its showing that DiMA is a sly manipulator.
I think Lizzie Wythe is way creepier than Dixie. Dixie is a typical crazed killer. Lizzie screws with people's minds and performs human experiments to develop her mind control serum.
Dieselpunk would imply cars and vehicles run on gasoline. This isnt the case. Aesthetically, it has dieselpunk hints here and there. But its full on Atompunk
Oh yeah, I remember that general atomics one. I just went straight to the center, right up to the 'bot in charge, and talked him into the update. Never fought a single bot that entire time. I forget how much power a decent charisma score can have sometimes.
Nah, I think Malcolm is unhinged as the rest of them. He is just one of the few trappers with a brief storyline and an actual name. But you are spot-on that all the trappers are indeed cannibals.
There are a bunch of known cannibals on the island, actually. There are a couple of places where you can interact with Trappers, in fact, where the dialogue implies that pretty much all of them are cannibals. Malcolm is only unique in that he seems to work alone.
The whole thing about the Far Harbor trappers is that they are insane cannibals. Malcom is just one of the trappers, one of the few you can speak to. When looking for the synth that ran away from the harbor, you find out that they were killed and eaten by trappers, who offer you some of the meat. The trappers are “trappers” because they trap and eat people. Malcom is honestly one of the least disturbed ones, as he doesn’t immediately attack
When you do the quest looking for the lost synth you find out that a group of cannibals caught him and ate him, they offer to let you have his head. If you have the cannibal perk they even have unique dialogue where you can tell them you have the cravings too, so um...yea Malcom is not the only cannibal we meet.
Most scariest charaters in the fallout francise 1- Malcome / Fallout 4 [ Far Harbor ] 2- Dixie / Fallout 4 [ Nuka World ] 3- Frank Horrigan / Fallout 2 4- Suicidal Super Mutant/ Fallout 4 And the most scariest know to man 5- Preston Garvy / Fallout 4
Great vid as always! Only thing is I can't see any of the text on the terminal screens 🤔 the text is just a very very very dark flicker on the screens; not a huge thing but it does take away from the experience a bit!
On the plus side he only kills bad guys so he’s not as bad. Still creepy af though. Tbh raiders deserve what they get... the “art” is what makes it more creepy.

I did not know about the Fens Phantom! I'm going sewer spelunking tonight!!
jeez me either, people give fo4 a lot of shit but the fact i have 2k+ hours on the game and didnt know that little creepy lore bit makes me feel like they didnt get enough credit where it was due. the enviromental storytelling in fo4 is on point. only thing that was really bad was the dialogue haha

At least Dr. Crocker isn't Dr. Steinman from Bioshock.

I always wondered if the Phantom might have been the original Nick' s final case after the brain scan.
I’m actually goin to take Nick there with me (recently started playing on steam and JUST got to Diamond City and actually discovered the sewer but didn’t go in because I just wanted to get to town)
Played through it before on Xbox but never took Nick with me. I’m curious if he will have anything to say. Sometimes characters do have comments about special locations after all.

Radical idea: characters make Fallout games good.
Bethesda: *hiss!*
Indeed. Kinda wish the guy was actually there though, in ghoul form of course. Special interaction if you bring Nick.
I oddly enjoy Pickman as a character.
He is actually making the Commonwealth a better place
Pickman is the man. I felt so bad when I accidentally killed him.
That sound clip of Dixie made me uncomfortable
David Harris good your normal then
Yeah, they make me uncomfortable, but how she talks somehow placates my disgust.
@@dylannecros3636 she sounds like applejack from mlp went crazy and murdered people!
Dima creeps me out, that voice, no thank you.
LilMiss Cyndi I find it calming
Nathaniel Perry Yeah but he's also got a conscience. He'll willingly allow himself to be executed if you tell him that he murdered Captain Avery.
Mama Murphy
KLEO

KLEO and Mama Murphy are rather straightforward. Murphy's a stoner seer, and KLEO likes big guns, and she cannot lie.

@@Umbra_Ursus this is also an accurate description of Dixie.

Actually the brotherhood of steel is diesel punk not steampunk you see steampunk is Victorian techno but dieselpunk is ww2 techno
No its Atompunk. They literally use fusion cores and nuclear energy. Even laser weapons.
Fallout setting = atompunk. Even the music
I think Lizzie Wythe is way creepier than Dixie. Dixie is a typical crazed killer. Lizzie screws with people's minds and performs human experiments to develop her mind control serum.
Who is this? Where r they? None of this sounds familiar.
Nate referred to steampunk, but the style he was talking about w/ brotherhood is atom-punk
the brotherhood (and most tech in fallout) is a combination of dieselpunk and nukepunk/atompunk

Love your vids! Tune in every upload. I used to watch Fudgemuppet and Camelworks, but I think Scott was turned into a tranquil and Camel was abducted.
He called the power armor “steampunk,” and suddenly I realized why I love the Fallout universe and aesthetic. It’s radioactive steampunk!
It's called atompunk. Basically 1950s nuclear age on steroids
As soon as you said “dr. Son” I was expecting “prof. Dad”
When you do the quest looking for the lost synth you find out that a group of cannibals caught him and ate him, they offer to let you have his head. If you have the cannibal perk they even have unique dialogue where you can tell them you have the cravings too, so um...yea Malcom is not the only cannibal we meet.

Great video 👍. Haven’t played Far Harbor in a while, but I think I took Malcolm’s caps then killed him anyway (or tried to, can’t remember if it worked). And I have a theory that Pickman is either the Fens Phantom himself, or a direct descendant. Their behavior and psychoses are too similar for there not to be a connection
3 years later and I’m commenting 😂, not gonna lie , it sounds like he could be a copy cat killer , apart from killing raiders only where as the fens was killing random people. Far harbor has more cannibals, you run into them if you do the synth mission
But does eating a synth make them cannibals?
@@dahkteromar749 they didn't know he was a synth
Plus, it's heavily implied that all trappers are cannibals. Think about it, you can find dead animals like radstags next to humans.
From my point, Far Harbor and Malcolm a *huge* easter egg to Jason Vorhees (Friday the 13th series). I mean, the lake and the old looking house ruins, the Mask, just everything - except Malcolm is talking, and Jason never did.
