Indeed, Fallout 4 is absolutely filled with colorful characters, interesting quests and fascinating locations. There's so much to do in the Commonwealth that even today, nearly five years after the game first released, Sole Survivors are still making fresh discoveries for the first time. So today we'll be taking our fifth look at five things you (probably) didn't know you could do in Fallout 4.

A neat thing that I found out earlier today is that if you're travelling with Nick and have the Mysterious Stranger perk and shoot someone in VATS with the Mysterious Stranger helping, you can drive Nick CRAZY with lines like "Get back h- damn, vanished", if you look under Ellie's bed there's a case file that Nick wrote on the Mysterious Stranger. Neat little thing
One time for me when first meeting the railroad one of my playthroughs, Deacon said "how have you not heard of her, wherever she goes she leaves and path of destruction behind her."
The Mr Handy at the hotel in Good Neighbour has a clear out mission for you, but it you've already cleared the location it will say "Do you just go around shooting up random locations?".

Me looks in every register to see pre war money
You.. you're not wrong. Playing on a survival playthrough, it's one of the few things you can carry en masse as it has no weight, but I'm always storing it on dogmeat as I don't want to waste it building a bed or something. You either find a lot of it at once or you open a register and find like maybe one or two.
For me it's not EVERY register but for those that have pre-war money in them I average around 15. The biggest stash I've found is the bank in Lexington. It was in the process of being robbed when the bombs fell. There is about 3 in the vault then step outside the hole in the vault, there is another 5 on the ground then a bag with an even 100. Plus I generally find some in at least 2 of the 3 cash registers in the bank lobby. So I generally leave that site with almost 150 more than I had when I arrived.
I’ve had over 10 thousand pre war money. Not hard to find.
If you don't clear the Super Mart the Mr. Handy oil and prewar money at the bank reappear; same thing with the silver bar and frag grenade at West Everett.

Nate, the General Atomics Galleria was never fully opened, because the robots were seriously malfunctioning even before the war. Killing what few customers showed up originally. All of them basically misunderstood the orders and behave too violently as a result. Fallout 4 is 5 years old and I'm still playing it like it just came out yesterday lol
Well sure. that's what you do when no other Fallout game comes out. You play the most recent one like crazy.
Don’t say that on UA-cam. The New Vegas rat pack start showing examples of dialogue choices and then the millions of liars who didn’t play FO 1 and 2 back in the day moan at both of you.
@Conn Benn What straw man are you arguing?
damn wtf fallout 4 is 5 years old already?
Over 5000 hours last time I checked, and that was a couple run-throughs ago. These days I "play my own game" and don't even bother with the quests. Endless Warfare mod for the win!
I legitimately did the railroad thing by accident in my first playthrough, I overheard a conversation about the freedom trail so I did it right after I got to diamond city
Nate: "Most of us use console commands"
Me: ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT???
Well, basically everyone who would have the $5000 in cash (not caps) would have used console commands. It would take forever to scavenge that much pre-war money, especially since it can be used as a resource or sold for a bit of money.
@@ThatSoddingGamer scrapall best console command ever, as for prewar money i tried once after about a week or so without cc or mods i was at around 700

I don't even know how to do console commands. Also, in Fallout 4, I have never, ever, ever used VATS. Never. Not once. I don't even know what button to press, nor do I care.
@@TrouvatkiDePercusion I with you on console commands but I do sometimes use VATS. My favorite attack of late is to snipe mid to long range with no or simple sights on a silenced pistol. At present I'm using a pipe .45 caliber revolver. Revolvers in real life can't be silenced because of the open air space between the cylinder and barrel.
Just bought fallout 4 like 3 weeks ago and I can't believe it didn't buy it nearly 5 years ago. This is favorite chill game .

For some reason, the quest about the DC mayor being a synth never triggered for me. I learned he was a synth after visiting the institute for the first time but nothing ever came of it, despite me trying to confront him.
I think I spent like 250+ hours on my first playthrough. Gonna play it again soon
It triggers after you blow up the institute
I've never gotten that when either hes still standing in the office time about oh I got a lot to do or something like that lol
I discovered that if you bring Piper with you when you enter Diamond city during the "wolf in sheep's clothing" quest, she has some unique dialogue to Danny when you give him a stimpak, which is almost unknown because Piper is other wise in the mayor's office.
Rex Theti Rannos is there really a way to start it or is it random I’ve had it happen once but idk if I did something for it to appear
@@thetoxxicduck7870 it's after you infiltrate the institute and scan their computers for the most part I have heard that you can trigger it before that but I don't know how.

"Pre-war money is hard to come by"
>Eyes beds made of money
Sure let's go with that, Nate
I still love the Nick - Raider encounter. It really shows how some of the raiders have a backstory and some attachments rather than generic foe.
I knew the first one! And I was actually able to pay it. See, from my Fallout 3/New Vegas days I used to collect 2 things: cigarettes and pre-war cash. Both were weightless so you could carry as many as you wanted with zero weight repercussions, all while being worth caps. Pretty decent amount of caps too considering that they were weightless. As such I would pick them up and keep them in my inventory just to drop for caps if I needed a little extra. As such. I had around 6k pre-war money stockpiled by the time I reached the bowling alley.
I have been trying to get back into Fallout 4 the past few days. It’s really hard to get immersed and enjoy myself when the game freezes every 20 minutes.
Relatable bro especially with my fossil of a PS4
Jacob Memming I literally can’t go further into Boston than Hangman’s Alley and have to fast travel into Diamond City.
i dont know if you still care, but there is a mod for that (i use it on my ps4) i forgot the name but it basically removes small atmospheric features which greatly improves performance. "You from up north? Buncha weirdos up there"
Sheeeit boys, can you imagine nuclear winter in a northern state
One of my favourite bits was seeing all the entries bandits had made about me taking out all the other gangs across the commonwealth
The bowling alley in the Galleria has never given me a problem. I only talked to the one at the front counter my first playthrough and after that, I just ignored him. At no time did he ever turn hostile on me. Also, if you pay attention to pre-war prices i.e. coffee and donut only $30, one of the perks mags typically being $27 or more, than $5000 for a game of bowling isn't out of line with that. Prior to the bomb, the USA economy seemed to be in a state similar to Germany prior to World War II, where money was so worthless it cost ridiculous amounts for every day items.

You know, for me with my sneak-ninja-operator-sniper-rifleman-bloody mess build, the fifth one is actually pretty hard to come by. Raiders usually don't even get to see me before exploding into pretty pink clouds.
Slag's terminal isn't the only one who does that, I think there's a few others that does that as well (and even mentions Slag if you kill him)
I believe Tower Tom's terminal at Beantown Brewery is one of those.
As far as I know, it's almost every one of those terminals. Red in the ration bunker comments whe Tower Tom dies, Jarred's death is noted by the raiders in the fashion shop, Slag comments if you clear Dunwich before Saugus. It's probably a shorter list of raider boss terminals that don't comment on eachother.
Even better, though, is that there is dialogue you can occationally hear about a raider wanting to switch ganngs. Usually, this reveals a new location on your map, but if you already eliminated them, the other raider taking will mention they were wiped out, putting a damper on the first soon to be dead man's mood.
i havent played fallout 4 in so long but i still enjoy your videos, its nice to see someone who is making content that is enjoyable but also pretty innocent
"5 years old now" uploaded 5 years ago and we STILL don't even have a rumor as to what the next Fallout might be, let alone when. Thanks, Todd.

Fallout Geography lore I hadn't heard yet.
That Raider quote.
"You from up North? Bunch'o weirdos up there."
Could be Ronto, could be some Eastern division of the Pitt, could be a new faction, could be some stylish raiders.
Hm, interesting stuff.
Probably a plug for the far harbor dlc
Far Harbor doesn't have weird looking people though, other than the Children of Atom, who are all over the wastes.
He just said their creeps, didnt say they look creepy. The crazy cannibal people that live on the island fit that bill.
He commented that your vault suit makes you look weird and figured you were part of some gang. He soft assumes that maybe the player is from "the North", as he knows there's a gang/faction up there that dresses weirdly and/or in Vault Suits.
It's directly attributed to player appearance, and that it's weird, but not off putting.
Fallout 3 is South of Fallout 4.
Such terminal entrys are on all personal terminals of the big raider gangs, the entrys vary depending on the order of the groups you have already taken out.
Honestly once you know Deacon and the railroad from previous playthroughs, being an Unknown factor to them feels badass
“He’s a high ranking official in one of our most powerful opposing factions! We need to let him see that place, spot weaknesses, know who works for us, etc etc”
I know I'm kinda late but I NEVER considered what Deacon's dialogue would be in that case. Thanks Nate!

After that random Nick Valentine/Raider encounter, I kept expecting him to say 'I have no idea who those guys were' as we walked away.

August 31st, 2023... Fallout 4 is my jam ❤
5000 pre-war money should be more like 5 million dollars at least. Those are big bundles of cash.
I wish u would upload more Nate u always give me something great to watch I get u have other stuff to do but you’re honestly great
Honestly been calling it ‘sausage iron works’ this whole time
The Raider Boss at the Corvega Assembly Plant has similar terminal entries to that of the Forged at Saugus Iron Works.
1:41
Point of order: if you read all the terminal data, you'll find that those malfunctions were being worked on before the bombs fell
If you hack and then incite Takahashi in diamond city, he will start killing the entire population of diamond city. But he doesn't just get killed like an npc. For some reason he just gets downed like a companion or important character. In my current playthrough, diamond city is filled with corpses and a lot of my settlements have diamond city armor
One thing I really think is amazing about fallout 4 is the attention to detail about the story like how it mirrors old history from the 1700s with the battle of concord and Lexington, battle of bunker Hill etc. It puts more of an emphasis on the whole "War never changes", this is chef's kiss 🤌 (and yes I am a nerd for old American history)
Well observed. I dig the historical echos too!
Thanks Nate for yet another illuminating and entertaining video! Quick question though, I've always wondered why your Fallout videos look so good! Are you on a tricked out console or some souped up PC? Inquiring minds want to know!
“Aaand, as if that wasn’t enough...”

I've been playing this game since release on survival mode. I've completed the main storyline and have collected most of the unique items but I'm still searching for 2 bobble heads. I can't bring myself to look it up I'm trying to do everything without assistance and let me tell you, the wasteland is huge.
"Slag" is an extra-hilarious choice for a bad guy name if you consider the UK slang.
If you get the Silver Shroud costume before you do anything else. You can get unique dialogs to speak as the Shroud, and the NPC's will respond to you in unique ways. Works for Far Harbor and Nuka world too.
you’ve already mentioned the 5000 pre war dollar thing
While not something the player can do, I just experienced something I didn't think could happen. I was in Diamond City, and out of nowhere, Arturo not only leaves his counter, he left Diamond City. I followed him, and he got as far as Greenetech Genetics before a couple mirelurks killed him. I tried to kill the mirelurks because I want to see how far he will get, but I messed up. I'm glad I could reload a save because now I can see where he goes. 😂
Update: Okay, this has to be some sort of glitch because now Ellie is running with Arturo. Where the hell are they going?
Final Update: Arturo stopped outside Ticonderoga and is just standing there, and Ellie stopped at Monsignor Plaza, also just standing there.

The EpicNate315 You've a great cinematic style. Very chilled.
I hope you'll tell us a long story some time :)
6:55 If you pick the sarcastic option here, you say something along the lines of "What, people don't usually solve your little decoder ring out front?" and Deacon says "I'd be surprised if anyone out there could even spell Railroad."
5:39 It's physically impossible to have exposed Mayor McDonough as a Synth before meeting the railroad
How do you know?
@@moviemaker2011z Because the quest for it is triggered by becoming enemies with the Institute after the Molecular Level quest, which can't possibly be completed without meeting the railroad
@@LifelessTooth i hear what youre saying and imma let you finish, but i must say i remain skeptical.

8:31 "Murdered to death"
Hmmmm, yes, the floor is floor.
Okay but Mason in Nuka~World
Is kinda hot 🥵
Agreed...
Now I wish that I was involved in making Fallout 4. Cause I would have made him a romance option.
Fenris Vermundr oh I wish 🥺
That was neat. There is so much that goes on in this game that yes, it takes multiple times playing through it to find just a small amount of what really is going on so, I like your videos because you tend to point out all of these things. Thanks once again
The disappointing thing is that if I was traveling with Valentine and didn't know about this encounter the raiders would have hot lead in their brain before they could say a word
you've literally talked about every one of these points before, nate. c'mon now, i expect better from you
I was sure I had already seen this
A lot of topics were covered long ago and newcomers to the channel probs won't see them. At least he has new commentary, new jokes, and keeps repeats relatively entertaining for regular viewers. We're still here afterall.
Its one of the quick videos, probably used this as filler for us as hes working on a better more original video
No
I was about to say... That last bit of trivia was exactly the same last bit of trivia from this one: ua-cam.com/video/i_fBhJw55lg/v-deo.html
And I'm fairly sure I heard previous ones before as well.
